From South Kitsap High School in Port Orchard, Washington, comes a sensational performance of them”Halleluia Chorus” of Handel’s “Messiah,” performed by silent monks using flashcards. This video has racked up millions of views on Facebook and YouTube.

Many thanks! I think that I have seen them or something like them in previous years, but it’s always enjoyable. As someone who has sung in a NYC amateur chorus for almost 50 years and have performed Messiah many times with them in Carnegie Hall, it’s amazing how they are so spot on with the music.

These kids attend a big high school that offers many many choices. Athletics, the arts, sciences, and more. Why go to a charter school with no choir, no band, no debate club, no choices.

This is really so clever! What a true joy –especially knowing they’re public high school students! I had not seen it before, so I really appreciate your sharing it with us, Diane! And excellent point about charter schools having such limited choices.
