Happy Thanksgivjng to you and your family and your friends!
For many of us who had hoped to elect Kamala Harris as President, this is not the best of Thanksgivings.
But we must be thankful for our blessings, count them, and rededicate ourselves to improving our society and the lives of others.
Never forget: We are not going back!
We want a better world, not the fictional world of the past. We want progress, not regress.
I am thankful for all those who dedicate their lives to progress, opportunity, kindness, compassion, justice, education, enlightenment, and equity.
I am thankful for our nation’s teachers. They have devoted themselves to building a better world, one student at a time. They have not been thanked enough.
I am thankful for my family.
I am thankful for health.
Be thankful. Be kind. Be strong. Be good to yourself.

Happy Thanksgiving to you as well Diane, and thank you for remembering our teachers. So thankful for all you do. Arnie

Diane: In the firehose of reading that comes across my screen every day, I always read yours first. I am everyday thankful for your trustworthy presence . . . trust being so rare these days . . . and for all of those writers here who add to my understanding every time I tend the blog, and especially for being introduced to some of the specialists here I didn’t know existed.
Also, I was thinking this morning, I am even grateful to Donald Trump, but not for the reasons he would like. I think, despite the election turnout, and whatever happens this next year, I think Trump and the Project 25 have brought with them (and it’s not finished yet, by far) a higher and better political understanding for the people of the United States who, apparently for half of us, had gone politically dormant. For that, I am grateful.
In that same vein, I am grateful for the people surrounding Trump, especially Steve Bannon, Steven Miller, the Trump children, and several others (fill in the blank) who have shown us that, yes, Catherine, people can sink THAT low. Thank you for curing me of the worst of my naive optimism.
The parades are wonderful this morning, even as they seem a bit bizarro in the present political context–turn the channel and a whole city is in ruins. Happy thanksgiving to everyone. Onward. CBK

Thank you Diane and all your followers who have made it easier, somehow, to handle the craziness of our Nation, the constant attack on our teachers and public schools. In spite of these stressful years, when it felt like Hope ran out, we are still here, hanging tight, and facing another almost impossible hurdle. I am grateful to all who decided to see possibilities, options, shared survival skills, named names of all the horrible people who tried to harm our kids, teachers and public schools. You continued to try to make sense out of nonsense and insanity. But, we’re still her & ready for the next, almost impossible, danger we saw coming. I know we’re going to stay strong, focused and informed – no matter what! That’s what we’re made of.
Happy Thanksgiving,
