At a rally a few days ago in Dalton, Georgia, Trump made the preposterous claim that five states allow schools to promote transgender surgery.
We got critical race theory and transgender mutilization insanity out of our schools. I mean, we have five states where your child goes off to school as Tim and comes back as Tammy three or four days later. It’s true. And teachers make — somebody makes a decision. Can you imagine? Goodbye, Timmy. I love you so much.
I’ll see you later. And you say where’s my son? My son is in the hospital. Can you imagine? Can you imagine? They don’t even need approval. It’s sick. You’ll have five — I think Minnesota and some others. I think it’s five or six states. You know that, right? So — and we made English the official language of the United States of America.
He told the same story about the notorious five states repeatedly in the 2024 election, and each time he said it, the news media said it was false. He never produced evidence. Never. Not one single instance.
No teacher. No student. No Timmy. No Tammy.
At first, I was outraged that no journalist called him out for this lie.
But as I read the speech, I realized there were so many lies that it would be overwhelming to correct them all.
Please, if you can stomach it, read the clips from this speech given in Dalton, Georgia, on October 16, 2026.

When Trump says anything, always expect a lie. And with the “threat” that he may lose control over Congress; he is going to probably escalate his misinformation war beyond anything we have suffered through before. And if he does lose Congress, the next two years is going to be a long, never-ending Trump Tsunami of hyperactive hate and misinformation that we haven’t experienced yet from him.
Trump may even let Putin bomb US cities and blame it on the Democrats who led those cities, and let Putin get away with it.
CNN reports, “President Donald Trump’s claims that schools in multiple states are secretly sending children for gender-affirming surgeries without parental consent are not supported by any evidence.”
The Toxi T’s own presidential campaign has not been able to provide a single example or name a single school, hospital, or child involved in such an event

The media needs to stop saying that Trump says things “without evidence”, be direct, and call it a lie.

The NYT has solved that problem by simply reporting on Trump’s speeches by excluding anything that might make readers doubt his mental state and veracity. Why would a NYT reporter even tell readers that Trump said something if that quote might reflect negatively on Trump? They simply dutifully transcribe only the quotes that make Trump seem energetic and popular in order to meet their “fair and balanced” standards. “Neutrality” – the goal of all NYT reporting that isn’t blatantly pro-Trump – cannot be served if NYT reporters can’t censor anything that makes Trump look bad.

How about an image of Trump with a Pinocchio’s nose to show by its length how much he is lying. For the Toxic T’s most repeated, extreme lies, a nose longer than the length of his body and set it on fire instead of pants on fire.

Firstly, it’s astounding that a president of the United States could be allowed to say something so outrageously stupid & false. And secondly, that even one sentient person supporting him could actually shake their head agreeing with the insane lies that Trump spews…. It’s just soooo discouraging that we have a president like this, but also fellow Americans who could agree with & support his lies.

It is estimated that about 19% of US adults support Trump and his MAGA movement.

Oh it is so sad but I have to report– based on yrs of nearly daily watching of CSPAN’s daily Washington Journal call-in show (broadcast every day of the year, 7am-10pm Eastern], that there is a regular stream of callers about one in four] who follow Truth Social and believe everything this man says. They uniformly believe the nation is falling apart due to these daily lies from Trump’s mouth.
As for this particular lie, I find it amazing anyone believes that teachers OK have authority over the mutilation of minors’ reproductive parts.

He lies as he breathes. I guess what is astonishing is that not all who truly believe him are stupid people. An old friend, was a HS Civics and Social Studies teacher, swears by him. She is 84, and taught the constitution by the book for 40 years. She lives in a conservative community here in California now and I am not sure how or when it happened. She doesn’t even believe he is a convicted felon. So sad.

I lost a friend I’d known since grade school. He had a degree in physics from Berkeley. Trump Derangement Syndrome took over his mind, too. We haven’t talked for years so I don’t know if he’s still trapped in that delusional, expanding bubble of misinformation and hate, or if he escaped and willingly sought help to be deprogrammed.
MAGA-Trump is an addiction like booze, drugs, gambling. To escape, they have to want it and may need help, like Leaving MAGA, a non-profit organization explicitly designed to function as an “exit ramp” and supportive recovery community for former Donald Trump supporters. [1, 2]

Lloyd– it is disconcerting when a highly-educated person supports an authoritarian would-be strongman. My grandfather was like that; perhaps he would have supported Trump (not sure). But he was an authoritarian within his household. He was an engrg mgr at Kodak: I remember one of his repeated bitter diatribes was over how the govt forced Kodak to let Polaroid have the patent on a process the 2 co’s had developed in partnership, in the interests of avoiding monopoly– except that was a faux narrative. At the time [a 15yr legal battle when I was in late teens/ early 20’s], I recognized his impatience with the slow pace of democratic govt, & realized he would prefer an authoritarian leader who could cut thro legal process & make things that correlated with his druthers happen quickly.

Some educated men I know who are loyalist MAGA members were molested as children. Studies on the long-term impacts of childhood trauma focus on psychological concepts like “revictimization” and disrupted attachment styles to explain why some survivors find themselves in abusive adult relationships.
I wonder if that is the reason my childhood friend gravitated toward Trump and MAGA. His father, who was a Christian pastor, molested all of his children and there were like a dozen of them. My friend wasn’t the oldest or the youngest among his siblings.

Traumatic childhood environments can distort a person’s baseline for normalcy. Survivors may have difficulty detecting early warning signs of danger or setting boundaries, making it easier for adult abusers and manipulators to target them.
I wonder how many of Trump’s followers fit this description.

I think what is terrifying about tRump, is he makes stuff up as he goes, and then people believe what he just that second made up! JD admitted he made up the story about the Haitians eating cats and dogs, he smirked as he said, on camera, he made up the story to highlight what problems Springfield was dealing with, and it was the only way people took notice!
Once tRump took the story and ran with it, it became fact. He just said it again last night in Kansas! 2 years later! After JD said he made it up! I am sorry about your friend. We all have friends and family members lost to this cult. The damage is deep.

What does that show us about Trump’s still loyal MAGA cult members. That they believe outrageous lies like that without factchecking.
I think they are no different than the 918 members—including over 304 children that belonged to the Jim Jones cult—who drank a fruit-flavored drink mix (primarily Flavor Aid, often misremembered as Kool-Aid) laced with cyanide and sedatives at their remote commune in Jonestown, Guyana. [1, 2, 3]
Earlier that day, Peoples Temple members ambushed and killed U.S. Congressman Leo Ryan, an NBC news crew, and others at a nearby airstrip. Congressman Ryan had traveled to Jonestown to investigate reports of human rights abuses. Back at the commune, Jones ordered his followers to drink a fruit punch laced with cyanide, sedatives, and tranquilizers.
If Trump does the same thing, he won’t drink the poisoned Flavor Aid. He’ll tell his MAGA cult to drink it. Then watch them with fascination, gloryfing himself that he has so much power over millions of fools, as they die before he boards his gilded flying 747-palace and flies to Argentina or Russia as long as he’s safe from US or EU justice.

As Putin bombs children’s parks and apartment complexes Trump chides and tries to bully Zelensky. Horrific, despicable, a betrayal of all that is decent and sane. It’s like throwing stones at a drowning child.
Never a word against Putin, who started the damn war.

Trump has proven beyond doubt that he’s Putin’s puppet. He will sit by as Putin slaughters Ukrainians, underfunded because he halted the shipment of Patriot defense missiles.
Last story: Putin proposed that he, Trump, and Xi met to decide the fate of Ukraine. Not our allies. Trump is creating a new world in which we are allied with totalitarian dictatorships.

Muddy water.
China actively trades with Ukraine and remains one of its largest single trading partners. Ukrainian consumers and businesses have increasingly purchased Chinese-made portable power stations, solar equipment, and electric batteries from brands like EcoFlow to cope with wartime energy grid.
Even though China maintains a deep “no-limits” partnership with Russia and has faced scrutiny from Kyiv over dual-use component supplies, Beijing has not cut off economic ties with Ukrain.
Total bilateral trade reached approximately $21.04 billion in 2025, heavily skewed toward Chinese imports ($19.23 billion) compared to Ukrainian exports ($1.82 billion).
