As readers of this blog know, Phyllis Bush writes regularly about her ongoing battle with cancer, which she derisively calls “cancer schmanzer.” In recent months, she got a colostomy bag (“Sherlock”), and she has had some rough bouts but kept her determination and humor.
Today, she has an announcement to make. She and her best friend Donna Roof got married. Since this happened on the spur of the moment, they relied on former students (an attorney and judge) to set the wheels in motion, fast.
Blessings and congratulations to the happy couple!
They live in Indiana.
Hey, Mike Pence, eat your heart out!
Naming your colostomy bag “Sherlock” is one of the funniest things I ever heard of. If a sense of humor can overcome cancer, ole man cancer better hit the road now.
Congratulations to Phyllis and Donna and thanks to the Indiana ACLU which took gay marriage to the U.S. Supreme Court and WON. It’s a merrier holiday season for so
many more folks because of advocates like Phyllis, Diane, and ACLU.
Thankful for the ACLU that fights for the little people and justice. Congrats to the happy couple!
Mike Pence doesn’t have a heart, but if he does, it is the Heart of Darkness and is too toxic to eat. I doubt if the Heart of Darkness even beats.
In the photos of the recent White House meeting of Trump with Pelosi and Schumer, the media referred to Pence as “the mannequin.” He sat in the center, looking concerned, saying nothing. A perfect mannequin.
Pence is a quiet, disengaged, willing puppet waiting for Trump to walk off stage so he can walk on and stop being Trump’s mute mannequin.
It is obvious that Pence and his handlers decided it would be best if Pence stayed as mute as possible and out of Trump’s spotlight as much as possible, so he would not be tainted by Trump’s endless lies, high crimes, and misdemeanors.
The Intelligencer reported” Actually, Pence’s Toadying Is His Best Shot at Becoming President.
“So as a staunch conservative turned Trumpian maximalist, Pence is the natural successor to the 45th president as leader of the GOP, right?
“Not so, according to Yahoo’s Matt Bai, who wrote a column contemptuously dismissing Pence’s chances to grab the brass ring of the presidency. The veep, says Bai, would (1) be brushed aside by Trump in favor of one of his family members [seriously?] if he retires in triumph after two terms; (2) go down the tubes with Trump if he resigns in disgrace or is impeached before 2020; and (3) be rejected by the GOP as the 2020 nominee if Trump is so unpopular he chooses not to run because others could distance themselves from the incumbent more easily.”
