Humorist Andy Borowitz praises Donald Trump for his tribute to the Unknown Podiatrist.

QUEENS, NEW YORK (The Borowitz Report)—In what has become a Memorial Day tradition for him, on Monday Donald J. Trump laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Podiatrist.
Trump made his annual pilgrimage to pay homage to the heroic doctors who issued bogus diagnoses to ensure that their privileged patients never answered the call of duty.
In an emotional tribute, Trump thanked the fallen foot specialists who bravely risked their medical licenses so that others facing military service could be free.
Choking back tears, he said, “They gave everything so people like me could give nothing.”
Actually, Trump’s podiatrist is not unknown.
The New York Times published an article in 2018 stating that the daughters of the Trump podiatrist claimed that their father, Dr. Larry Braunstein, had given Trump the bone spur diagnosis to help him evade the draft. It was a favor to his landlord, Fred Trump, Donald’s father.
The podiatrist, Dr. Larry Braunstein, died in 2007. But his daughters say their father often told the story of coming to the aid of a young Mr. Trump during the Vietnam War as a favor to his father.

I didn’t see Trump last night on the PBS National Memorial Day Concert on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol…thankfully…It was a wonderful program, except they forgot to mention the Jan. 6 attack. The sight of the attack was the central background image in the program.

Allow me to put the shoe on another foot. I don’t necessarily have much trouble doubting that Donald Trump is lame. He’s very lame. No, I have to put my foot down on this one, that bloated heel doesn’t have any inborn support; he needs someone to build him an arch. I’d give his feet two dirty, rotten toematoes. Still, Andy Borowitz is always soleful, never corny in his analysis of a 12-inch tall rulers’ feet. Fact is, when it comes to spurs, we all should have a bone to pick with the fact that our absoleute ruler got his public service career off on the wrong foot-fake bone spurs-divorce-bankruptcy-Stormy Daniels-grab them by the p–sy. And now that he is the absoleute ruler, you give him an inch, he takes all the feet in a mile. He’s what my grandma used to call a sneaker. It’s horrible. But finally, I hope, dear reader that all these eye-rolling puns didn’t tread on your nerves too much, and that, if they did, you are able to heel. Just take it one step at a time.

Thank you. On February 21, 2018, Diane entitled a post, “Art and Humor Will Save Us,” and I took it to heart. I’ve always considered Dr. Ravitch the teacher of Mr. Left Coast Teacher.

More to solidify the diagnosis of disgusting cowardice in the face of a call to duty.

It doesn’t have a leg to stand on, let alone a foot.
