Donald Trump showed his vicious, vengeful character in his Easter message, where his hatred was on full display. He posted it on his social media platform TRUTH SOCIAL. Does he know what Easter is about?
@realDonaldTrump
Happy Easter to all, including the Radical Left Lunatics who are fighting and scheming so hard to bring Murderers, Drug Lords, Dangerous Prisoners, the Mentally Insane, and well known MS-13 Gang Members and Wife Beaters, back into our Country. Happy Easter also to the WEAK and INEFFECTIVE Judges and Law Enforcement Officials who are allowing this sinister attack on our Nation to continue, an attack so violent that it will never be forgotten! Sleepy Joe Biden purposefully allowed Millions of CRIMINALS to enter our Country, totally unvetted and unchecked, through an Open Borders Policy that will go down in history as the single most calamitous act ever perpetrated upon America. He was, by far, our WORST and most Incompetent President, a man who had absolutely no idea what he was doing — But to him, and to the person that ran and manipulated the Auto Pen (perhaps our REAL President!), and to all of the people who CHEATED in the 2020 Presidential Election in order to get this highly destructive Moron Elected, I wish you, with great love, sincerity, and affection, a very Happy Easter!!!

And that is why the Pope issued a beat-down on JD Vance this week. It is stunning that so many people view this as powerful and dominant rather than pathetic and weak.

“Sleepy Joe” on a bad day was such a better human being and leader. Even when I didn’t agree with him, I knew he understood his responsibility to this country and all Americans. He never wallowed in spiteful self-pity or used divisive hateful rhetoric against any single group. He encouraged civility and always tried to follow the rule of law. “Slow Joe” understood his mission and responsibility, and we were better off for it. Too bad so many in this country took him for granted.

Trump gets the wince-worthy award on this one.
But wasn’t it Biden who supported a bi-partisan border bill months before the election, and Trump who deliberately torpedoed it so he could run on the political dribble in this note?
Also, I am wondering if the Pope’s admonishments had any influence at all on the VP. If not the Pope, then who?

Taking even modern tyranny to a new level of depravity. This presents him nakedly as the cruel, vindictive, destructive, vicious human being that he is. I hope this nakedly non Christian Easter message wakes some caring Christians up to what he represents. As an Easter message this feels like a black comic hoax as in “too strange and terrible to believe!”

It’s not just Trump showing his character. His supporters are showing their character, too.

“’m not sure America can even survive the damage we’ve sustained in such a short time. Despite our best efforts, it may not be possible (at least in our lifetimes) to stop the bleeding, reverse course, and repair all that has been damaged since January 20th.
But if any of this is going to happen: if we are going to salvage our Republic from this massive wrecking ball of cruelty, it is going to be necessary for the good people of this nation to sever ties with those still loyal to him. We need to withhold our friendship, exclude them from our holiday gatherings, cut personal and professional ties, and practically speaking, marginalize them.”

^^^”If we truly believe in bending the arc of the moral universe toward justice at this place and time, his supporters need to become pariahs. They should not be welcome where good people gather. They need to be held accountable for unleashing this hell on the rest of us.
I’m not speaking about those who have or will come to their senses; those with the humility and empathy to admit their errors; those who will be visible and vocal in their resistance to this Administration. While it would have been far better for their souls to have been accessed much earlier, later is still better than never.
But as far as his cheerleaders, champions, kindred spirits, sycophants, and disciples—they are proving themselves unreachable with reason, impervious to compassion, and mortally allergic to anything that reasonable human beings value.
As in other times of historic fascist regimes, there is no ambiguity left now.
The lines are starkly drawn, the factions clearly defined, the opposing values unmistakable.
On one side of this battle for the soul of our nation, the safety of its people, and the welfare of the planet, is the sprawling interdependent community of those committed to healing, kindness, and the common good.
And on the other side stands this historically unredeemable would-be king and those who regardless of the story they tell themselves, still inexplicably stand alongside him.
Compromise is not an option, and because of that many of us are going to need to lean into our convictions and move away from people we know, love, and once respected.
Sadly and tragically, that’s just how this has to be.”

When I first saw this posted elsewhere, I thought it was too terrible to be real, even for Trump. A little research confirmed that he really posted this sick, vicious diatribe. This kind of behavior is totally inappropriate for the President of the United States. Has any previous President used this kind of speech in the history of our country? And as an Easter message? Disgraceful!

From this post and similar actions, it would appear that Trump is depending on not needing to win any more political fights. He behaves as a person would who did not need to please anyone but his followers.
The logical conclusion is that he believes he does not need to worry about his image except to further stir grievance among his base.

Below is a quote from the Timothy Snyder blog, which is always enlightening. If you didn’t know what was going on, you’d think it was about conspiracy theories, but if you know Snyder’s work, not so much:
ALL QUOTED BELOW from Snyder’s blog,, with history’s examples . . . this one is about the obvious preparation for terrorism and using it to gain more authoritarian power/CBK
“In the pre-revolutionary France of the eighteenth century, decadent rulers said “après nous, le déluge” — “after us, the flood.” We care not at all about the consequences of our actions; we are here to profit so long as we can. This is the attitude of Musk, Trump, and the rest. They are in it for themselves, provoking disasters for the rest of us along the way.
A few days before that drive began, I finished my doctoral dissertation, about revolutions, based on research in post-communist Poland. One of my supervisors was the the British historian Timothy Garton Ash. Considering the task of Poland’s new democratic government, he reversed the formula of French royalty, writing: “après le deluge, nous.”
After the flood, we remain. The disaster brought by the decadent is part of the story. But it is not the conclusion. It is what we do next that matters.”

Nice. But no matter what we do, Trump and Musk have destroyed America’s image in the world. For a very long time to come.

Hi Diane: The context of this Snyder note concerns the next terror attack, should we have one, the fact that the Trump administration is setting up the preliminaries for it to occur (by definition if not explicitly), and then for the now-common to history situation where the autocrat takes advantage of it to secure even more power. It seems she wants to speak out more & is choosing her words very carefully. That in itself is disturbing. She mentioned people telling her they were afraid to speak to people at work. That’s part of the process of establishing authoritarianism: keep people isolated by establishing a fearful, mistrusting environment — anyone could be an informer. Hopefully it hasn’t progressed so far that others who feel as she does (there must be some) will find each other & work together.

I am happy to see that Diane and her blog are as energetic as ever and meet this challenge of our lifetime. We barely remember COVID…
I grew up under communist dictatorship, and we have one in Hungary which has served as an inspiration for Project 2025. The big difference I see is how fast Trump is trying to accomplish the P’25 agenda. It took Orbán 10 years to control universities, Trump is trying to do the same in a few months. I’d say that’s too fast, but the billionaire forces behind him are the strongest in the World.

What the Trump “Administration” puts me in mind of an old Three Stooges bit where the Stooges come to paint the Oval Office, but they are mistaken for the people who really run the government.
All day long, people wander into the Oval Office and ask “The President” to do things, and Trump, not understanding anything about how things work, barks out nonsensical “orders” to his equally clueless “staff”.
Meanwhile, the country is invaded, foreign powers seize the reins, and Elon Musk is made president and we all go to jail without our supper.
The End.
