During the campaign, Trump told Sean Hannity that he would be a dictator on Day 1. He understated his goal, as we now know. He intends to be a dictator after Day 1. He wants to take complete control of the federal government.
He wants to destroy the civil service, place his loyalists in every policy making position, politicize the Justice Department, and eliminate all dissenting voices.
Both the Justice department and the FBI are supposed to be insulated from politics. Trump hated that. He’s putting them under the control of close allies. Every career prosecutor at the Department of Justice who worked in the Trump investigations has been ousted. The FBI has been purged.
His plan to eliminate the civil service, called Schedule F, has been rolled out.
He fired a dozen Departments’ Inspectors General. These are the nonpartisan officials who scrutinize each Department and guard against waste, fraud, and abuse. Will he replace them with MAGA flunkies?
To be sure, Trump is the puppet, not the mastermind. Others are pulling the strings. Musk, Vance, Stephen Miller (the architect of his plan to deport 11 million immigrants). The billionaire Peter Thiel pulls Vance’s strings.
Trump’s failed effort to stop-payment on almost every federal program may have been Vance’s idea. Vance is closely aligned with the radical libertarian guru Curtis Yarwin, who believes that democracy is a failure and that what is needed is a dictator who will eliminate most of the government.
The offer sent to two million civil servants asking them to resign in exchange for a payout likely came from Musk, who downsized Twitter by offering a mass buyout. Some Twitter retirees are still suing to get the buyout. No money is available now and unlikely to be appropriated to pay those who accept the offer to give up their civil service jobs.
The loss of top civil servants in every agency will undermine their effectiveness. These are the people with institutional memory; they know the agency far better than their political bosses. They serve, no matter which party is in power. And they are leaving in droves, pushed out by the new bosses.
Just when you think it can’t get worse, another Executive Order rolls out. Trump boastfully signs with his Sharpie. Does he know what’s he’s signing? Does it matter? Day by day, Trump demonstrates that he has “absolute immunity.” Day by day, he brings another part of the government under his control. And the Republicans in Congress not only acquiesce, they praise him for abrogating their powers.
Trump is a puppet, and cowed, pusillanimous Republicans in Congress are his lapdogs.
Day by day, the foundation of a Trump dictatorship are put into place. When he jokes about running for a third term, is he joking?

Trump intends to turn the US into Russia where corruption is the norm. Putin and his oligarchs rule and steal with impunity. Elections are simply window dressing. Anyone that gets out of line disappears or has an untimely “accident.” Trump even sounds like imperialist Putin making threats against Panama and Greenland.

The GOP has been setting the stage for this narrative for many years. With their ‘small government’ messaging they have hammered away at the federal government and sowed seeds of doubt about its efficiency and effectiveness. They have waged a propaganda campaign against the feds in a similar way they have waged war against public education.

Did you vote for Elon Musk to be dictator of the USA?

Musk has taken charge of several government agencies. Musk is unable to get top-security clearance because of his current heavy drug use.

Diane and Duane: I think the difference is money–Musk has enough to buy football-field-sized rooms staffed with flunkies with computers and phones who will do ANYTHING for a paycheck.
And so, it’s not a reach to think all of the legwork is already being done before the public hears anything about it, all governed by the few Stephen Millers and other ego-driven gunk-heads, and none of it need fall under any kind of regulation or protocol “guardrails.” It’s only about what Trump/Musk alliance wants, and their Project 25 mediaries want.
And about getting elected again: Putin has elections also . . . just like we do. CBK

That article notes that they have moved sofa beds into the building so that they can work around the clock, as happened when Musk took over Twitter. Imagine if the data sets of employee records are wiped away. That would include 2 million people’s employment status, pay grade, accumulated leave and job descriptions. Can’t sue if you can’t prove what has disappeared. Those employees will also lose their health insurance.

Trump is an obese wrecking ball. What will remain of our government after four years of this malevolence?
The best hope is a blue wave in 2026. Impeachment.

Christine: Yes, but that data base and system that they are taking over (where the guy just “retired) is also where the distribution of already appropriated and assigned monies occurs, including for Social Security and Medicare.
Now they own the bank itself. Forget that these are our taxes or that Congress already approved and directed those funds. They really are attempting a COMPLETE takeover.
My guess is that they’ve made Congress and the Supreme Court “offers they cannot refuse.” CBK

so what are we going to do about it? We need to counter these moves with action. Question: what action to take?

Not far behind I believe that trump will have every USA citizen sign some kind of loyalty paper pledging to the US government, aka, really to himself the dictator and if not signing one would loose either citizenship, or benefits they draw and even have their property confiscated.

Turmp is both a pupet and not. Typical Corporate Board Room politics with many transactional agendas all going on at the same time. Their vision, I believe, is not one vote one person. It’s one vote per dollar. Those with the most dollars and other substitute powers get the most votes. Democracy in their world view, just as it is their corporations, window dressing for personnel and PR reasons. No respect for Democracy. Period.

There’s a hiring freeze and the entire government is operating under a continuing resolution, but somehow, Muskovites have been installed at Treasury and OPM.
Were they appointed? Was Congress notified? Are they within the agency’s personnel ceiling? Are they even on the agency payrolls? As Schedule F does not exist (yet), under what authority were they hired?
Is what they’re doing considered a “new start”? There are no new starts under a continuing resolution.
Do they have security clearances? How did they obtain them?
Where is the Congressional oversight?

“Does he know what’s he’s signing?”
In the couple of videos I’ve seen of the signings someone off camera has been telling the CONVICTEDFELON what he is signing. I’d bet a dollar to a dime that he has not read any of them. Does he know how to read past a 3rd grade level?

Others ARE Pulling The Strings. And those string are tightly secured to the heart-breaking loss of ❤️ lovely lives over Reagan National this week. The big Black Hawk Helicopter was designed & assigned to transport VIP’s which means it had state of the art technology on board. Verified Reports of how it hit and destroyed the American Airliner make no sense.
It had no business in that crowded air space so why was it really there? Why were Air Traffic Controllers in California & in D.C. being told to resign and/or having their union contracts dismantled by the FAA only days before the tragic crash? Why was a single Controller given the job of 2 people on a busy/dangerous night at Reagan National?
Creating a National Air Space Crisis could result in civil disorder which could then be allowed and encouraged to spiral into a temporary declaration of martial law. Saturday 2/1/25 DJT intends to fan the 🔥 flames by declaring huge tariffs on Canada & Mexico. in hopes of destabilizing their economies and further punishing USA consumers?More high drama. The immediate de-population of agency after agency, once staffed by competent individuals. Wherever this headed, it is not safe for any of us.

No need to hint at conspiracy. All the required pieces were there well before. The nation’s ATC workforce has been short for decades, often requiring 6-day/wk 10-hr days. ATC’s are exempt from the hiring freeze, and not eligible for a buyout even though they were sent the offer. (It’s unclear if the controllers themselves were notified they were exempt; their union immediately advised them not to accept until more info was available.) The helicopters do routine training missions up & down the Potomac: the missions familiarize copter pilots with the routes that would be used in emergency evacuation of bigwigs from the Capitol. [And double as occasional taxis for politicians in a hurry.] Their routes running just under landing/ takeoffs at Reagan have been in place as the airport steadily exceeded its designed maximum passenger capacity [15 million/yr – but today transporting 25 million/yr]. Most recently by the addition of five commercial flights as part of 2024’s FAA reauthorization, over the strenuous objections of the VA & MD senators. The UH-60 Black Hawk was introduced 45yrs ago; it’s the army’s ”workhorse,” used around the world for everything from air assault to relief operations.

I suspect that FELON47, taking pages from other dictators who toppled democracies, will nationalize/take control of the oil industry and/or the banks, or at least attempt to do so.
If the January 6, 2021, Traitor succeeds, he doesn’t need concentration camps to get rid of anyone who won’t pledge total loyalty to him.
He starves them to death.
Grab the banks, pass a law that says traitors lose everything, and then take everything they never Trumpers have in their banks. Once they can’t make rent or mortgage payments, the banks the malignant narcissist controls, takes their houses too.
Once declared a traitor, you can’t vote or hold a legal job.
Also pass laws that it is illegal to be homeless.
Done deal. We who hold firm and refuse to pledge loyalty to Trump vanish.
In time, the U.S. Trump dynasty [if the U.S. keeps its name] will be the wealthiest most powerful family in Earth’s history. The first trillionaires as they bleed the US dry.
