   Always good to hear from Obama.

   When I hear Trumpalos whine that Kamala Harris was the “border czar”, I wince. That informal title has a specific meaning, and it isn’t what Biden tasked her with doing. Rather, her job on that issue was to examine three Central American countries, none of them Mexico, to discern what factors led their citizens to attempt to emigrate and come to the US. That’s it.

   When Obama was president, the immigration issue had a solution that came before the Congress. The Republicans, who had had 8 years to solve the problems before Obama, said no. They said no because, as Mitch McConnell had stated after Obama won, the Republican goal was to defeat any policy of the Obama administration, even if it was policy the Republicans wanted. It was obvious then, and is obvious now, that the GOP wants and needs government failure to rail against. Trump’s active involvement in stopping the most recent attempt to solve the border problem assures that Republicans do not want to ever solve this problem. From immigrants, they get cheap labor and convenient scapegoats.

   While Trump spoke to his weekend rally about comparing male pensises, on Sunday Kamala Harris was in the pulpit of a Baptist church in Stonecrest, Georgia, saying this:

   “When the way is not clear, it is our faith that then guides us forward — faith in what we often cannot see but what we know to be true.

   “I say that, because in this moment across our nation, what we see are some who are trying to deepen division among us, to spread hate, to sow fear and cause chaos.

   “There are those who suggest that the measure of the strength of a leader is based on who you beat down — instead of what we know, which is that the true measure of the strength of a leader is based on who you lift up.

   “Which kind of country do you want to live in?”

   Americans have seen what happens to nations whose leaders are hate-mongers and sowers of chaos because a nation reaps what it sows.

   What kind of nation do you want to live in?

     Just when I think it can’t get worse, Trump and company hit a new low. Trump has resorted to profanity directed at Harris at a rally, and Musk is bribing Pennsylvanians to sign his petition. They are turning the election into a circus and demeaning the whole process. Disgusting duo!
