Many readers have complained that their comments were blocked. I have complained repeatedly to WordPress, to no avail. The Happiness Engineers at WordPress (really!) proposed that you contact them directly for support:
They told me that I had a long list of banned words on my blacklist (e.g., porn, Nike [a regular spam item], etc.), that it might have stopped innocent comments. Like if you commented on your favorite porn or Nikes or clock parts.
I have eliminated the blacklist altogether, so now the onus is on them to find out why some comments never get posted.

Don’t know if it’s the issue here but first time comments always go into moderation and have to be approved.

Uh oh, now Senior Swacker and Lloyd Lofthouse will be able to use the language they really want to use when discussing our train wreck in chief! Cover your ears, everyone!

No, not ears, eyes.
Hell, one of the words that seem to have gotten my comments in moderation, I just had a couple yesterday that didn’t seem to make it through and there wasn’t any crudity whatsoever. There has never been a rhyme or reason that I’ve been able to figure out what WP does.

I’m pretty sure that rhymes are not the reason.
Some of my rhymes have not made it through but many have, and I also have not noticed any pattern.

And if WordPress actually uses a “rhyme filter” it’s not a very good one.
Cuz i have had many bad rhymes make it through.

“No Rhyme or Season”
If rhyming is the reason
That WordPress censors stuff
Then rhyming’s out of season
And prose is good enough

Timberland is also another favorite of the spammers. In all colors and types.

Sorry to be off topic, but this is important news. Grit will surely come in handy. 🙂

Serendipity can be karmic, eh. Just had a post blocked, waiting for moderation, on the teacher shortage/Tulsa post. Let’s see if it goes into moderation again:
I mentioned this one a recent post. It sure bears repeating when it comes to the sheer idiocy that the edudeformers continually rehash. From Charles Pierce’s “Idiot America”:
“There is nothing more worthless to the cultural imagination than a persistently wrong idea that succeeds despite itself”.
Is there any doubt as to the idiocy of this persistently wrong idea that anyone can teach.

Yep, you all can’t see the comment yet. WP doesn’t like it in either place.

All of my posts, none of which contain spam, objectionable content, or any material that is off topic, are immediately queued for an indefinite amount of time and moderated. Word Press has been unable to assist me with this matter.
¯_(ツ)_/¯

I was just looking at your very first blog entry (April 24, 2012) and I see that one of your readers back then said, “Welcome to the world of WordPress!”
Almost six years and what must be millions of words later, WordPress certainly knows you now.
You also mentioned in that first entry how blogging had been helping you communicate, “…the way one speaks to a friend.” That was very prescient, Diane. You’ve certainly made a lot of friends on here -despite the glitches in the technology or whatever is happening…
