Which is the incompetent? Which is the malevolent? Or are they both? Neither is qualified by experience or temperament for the jobs they hold. This story was posted on the Politico website:
The controversial attorney who runs the Education Department’s civil rights division cited her work attacking Bill and Hillary Clinton at the top of her resume when she applied to work for President Donald Trump, according to a copy of the document obtained by POLITICO.
Candice Jackson, who brought a group of women who had accused President Bill Clinton of sexual misconduct to a presidential debate last year between Trump and Hillary Clinton, listed that event as one of her “top five qualifications” for working in the administration.
At the Education Department, Jackson has taken a prominent role helping Education Secretary Betsy DeVos shape federal policy pertaining to protections for transgender students and the handling of campus sexual assault cases. She drew fire in June for telling The New York Times that 90 percent of campus sexual assault cases “fall into the category of ‘we were both drunk.'”
On her resume, Jackson noted that she had steadfastly attacked Hillary Clinton’s “lifelong corruption and hypocritical claim to defend women and children” in ads and videos and brought a “unique perspective due to also being a gay Republican.”
Jackson joined the Education Department in the spring.
POLITICO obtained the resume from American Oversight, a watchdog group that acquired it using a Freedom of Information Act request. It’s not clear whether the document was submitted directly to the Education Department or by another means, such as to the Trump transition team.
Melanie Sloan, senior adviser at American Oversight, said Jackson’s hiring is an example of Trump’s “clear pattern of filling important roles in his administration with ideologues and political hacks.
“Nowhere is this more evident than at the Department of Education, where Secretary DeVos — despite a total absence of experience in management or education policy — now oversees thousands of employees and over $60 billion in taxpayer money,” Sloan said.
When reached by telephone, Jackson referred questions to the Education Department’s press office, which did not respond to questions.
DeVos has previously defended Jackson as “a valuable part of the administration and an unwavering advocate for the civil rights of all students.”

Diane So . . . when is Jackson going to bring a bevy of Trump-abused women to one of his rallies?

CBK,
Remember that 12 women accused Trump of groping them and he said he would sue them?
Where’s that lawsuit?

Different rules for the right- wing, Catherine.
And if Jackson is worried about corruption, she is apparently not worried about the corrupt practices of Trump, who cheated his contractors, his investors, his workers, his students at that false “university” of his. You name it, he cheated them.

She also doesn’t care about his serial molesting of women. This is the guy who bragged about grabbing women by their genitals.

Diane, it was sexual assault and he should have been arrested for it.

What makes you think DeVos is incompetent? Seems to me she’s doing a fine job of carrying out her assigned mission.

Thank you for your sarcasm.
Yes, the hitman is doing a fine job of carrying out her/his assigned mission – KILLING. However, a hitman is incompetent in the eyes of people who respect kindness. Back2basic

Candice Jackson, who brought a group of women who had accused President Bill Clinton “of sexual misconduct”
When I read this, I roared with laughter.
Where is the outrage from the Right for Trump’s sexual misconduct?
Trump’s decades of groping women without permission trumps whatever Bill Clinton did with women. At least Bill Clinton’s women were willing to be part of his sexual misconduct. Was Bill Clinton ever accused of running his hands under a woman’s dress without permission and …. (use your imagination when it comes to what Trump did with his fingers)?
But we live in a world where the members of the Alt-Right can do whatever they want. Accusations of alleged misconduct are only for those who are not supporting members of the racist, hating, woman abusing, poverty wage promoting, Alt-Right.

The last time I checked she was ACTING Assistant Director because in order to be the ACTUAL Assistant Director she would need to get appointed by the Senate and Ms. DeVos probably wants to avoid going through that process! BTW, this approach is not limited to the USDOE: President Trump is understaffing virtually every agency in an effort to make government fail so that he and he alone can “save the day”…. He’ll “save the day” by outsourcing as many functions as possible to the private sector who will gladly make a profit off of the misfortune of everyone else… Keep an eye on Houston to see how the relief for Hurricane Harvey plays out…

From what I read yesterday, Fake President Trump, the Kremlin’s Agent Orange, is already outsourcing the jobs by bypassing the Senate and appointing nothing by lobbyists that are moving over from the industries that they served to fight against the agencies Trump is giving them jobs in.
Some of these swamp busters have since left and have been quoted saying the swamp is NOT being drained.
Instead, the swamp is being flooded with malaria spreading parasites.
I think I read this in ProPublica (correct me if I’m wrong but please name the correct source if I am). It was a long post with lots of names and facts.

Also, as a side note, the reformers used the disaster in New Orleans and take advantage of the so called emergency to public education that it was “failing”.
As a result, the public schools suffered “charterpox”, as the privatization movement jumped at the unlimited opportunities.
I’m sure the disaster in Houston is the topic of conversation in their closed board meetings, as they cook up more ways to destroy that city’s public foundations.
Their chilling instructions guide them to take advantage of an emergency, and lie to the public about the “changes” needed to address the emergency. Then systematically steal democracy from the people.
A tragedy of this magnitude is what the reformers dream about to drive their agenda.
