Trump denounces KKK, neo-Nazis as Justice Department launches civil rights probe into Charlottesville death – The Washington Post
https://apple.news/AwHSIWWOeTxCPzOUULRlViw
Under what circumstances would it be a news story if the president denounced these racist, hate groups?
Only if the president is Trump, who depended on these groups during the campaign and never rejected their support.
It took him three days after the KKK arrived to reject these hate groups. Excuse me if this seems insincere.
This is not what we expect of our leaders. We expect leaders to respect all people.
I hope he stops saying that we should all unite as one. I don’t want to be one with neo-Nazis and fascists. No, thank you.
Class, what if:
President Obama had waited three days after Sandy Hook to make a statement?
President Bush had waited three days after September 11th?
President Clinton had waited three days after the Murrah building bombing in Oklahoma?
President Bush had waited three days after Iraq’s invasion of Kuwait?
President Reagan had waited three days after the Challenger explosion?
President Carter had waited three days after the American embassy in Iran had been taken?
What would we have said/thought about them? Discuss.
The previous presidents that you mentioned were not the source of the problem, as tRump has brought this on with his man-child, maligment narcissistic, bullying behavior.
Great point, GregB!
Mr. Trump, this is the garden you grew.
DUMP that DUMP!
Trump read a very perfunctory statement. There was no feeling in his voice, no sense of remorse really. He began by praising his own ” acimplishments.” I wonder who wrote this speech that he was embarrassed into giving? Then he refused to answer any questions from the press. Yes he set the tone for this hatred to fester and grow. Now he’s going to retreat into his golden tower.
There was no feeling there because he doesn’t agree with what he said.
I’m sure he was prodded into giving it by some of his advisors, who were alarmed at the negative reaction to his initial comment: “on many sides, on many sides.”
What he’s really done is what he does to everyone he ceases to have use for – he threw them under the bus. Welcome to Trump world Nazis and white supremists. Thanks for helping put him in the WH.
I hope they are under the bus but fear they are under the radar.
They got the “dog whistle.” “Don’t worry, I don’t really mean it.”
I wonder how many emails the #FakePresident sent out the white racists letting them know his daughter and/or wife nagged him into doing it and he didn’t’ mean it.
Trump’s lack of leadership and diplomatic skills are very apparent. Things in the WH get worse everyday almost by the hour. But, we must also remember the people on his so called elite staff not the brightest sharpest knives in the draw when it comes to leadership and be able to work with others. These people are doing nothing to help Trump do the right things for the American People. Everyone of them, including Trump, should be ashamed of their dismal job performance. We have a bunch of high paid clowns working in the WH.
Trump must be forced to resign:

So, it took his family and some of his cabinet three days to talk him into saying that about the racist haters among us. Imagine the hours of nagging. They must have scheduled it so it was nonstop, one after another, to wear him down.
He mouthed the statement someone prepared for him. He became a talking head, under some pressure from someone on the inside.
Maybe they hired someone to drug and hypnotize him and then immediately have him forget he did it. Since he only reads the fake news, conspiracy genearting Alt Right media, he’ll never know he did it.
Frankly it is too little and very late. Sometimes is not what you say but when you say it. Then again it is not what you say but how you say it Even more important is what your silence says.
The only saving grace here is the rapid deployment of a federal special investigation into civil rights violations. The demonstrators clearly cried fire in a crowded building which invited someone to use his car as a murder weapon killing an innocent young woman who was crossing the street.
