brava!
Well-deserved recognition! Congratulations!
Truly an honor from one of the great journals in American media… Congratulations!
Thank you, thank you, for putting us on the map. We are honored to have you speak for us.
Congratulations.
You were also on the New York Times 75 Best Educational Books on 2013 at #11.
Congtatulations. It’s a well-earned honor.
Congratulations, Diane.
I am certain that your book will be studied in future college courses as part of the “Blunder of Privatization” Era in American Education.
deutsch29: you surely missed getting the latest about the new Broad Academy class. Aren’t you on their emailing list? Didn’t you get the latest heads-up from the “hasty optimists” at the Gates Foundation?
Course 666: Plunder By EduPrivatization. Team taught by John Deasy, Paul Vallas, and Steve Perry, under the leadership of Michelle Rhee. Guest lecturers: Wendy Kopp and Arne Duncan. Course content and syllabi to be provided by big hearted anonymous donors who shall remain generously unnamed until KrazyMathLady picks up the rock they’re hiding under and exposes them to the light of day.
The course is part of the 6-credit MA in EduFraud, en route to their 3-credit online Ph.D. program that is satisfied by a single class, pithily called EduManglement: Best Business Pratices/Worse Business Practices—What’s The Diff?
I have it on good authority that during one session they will be channeling the spirit of Charles Ponzi via Bill Gates, although he says there is a 98% “Satisfactory” chance that it may take 10 years before they can actually communicate with him.
Now as for that Ravitch woman and her REIGN OF ERROR:
That has been banned for reasons of disenlightenment.
Given their POV and behaviors, a “wise” move.
😎
Congratulations because in truth, every list should have yours at the top. The work you do is exceptional and determined and committed. I can think of no other writer today who pours it out without restraint and keeps on working no matter what the circumstances. Thanks so much for this effort because without you this world would be a much sadder place.
Thank you, Deborah.
Another mazal tov is in order! So very well-deserved. Careful… someone might just make YOU the new Commissioner of Education in NYS!
A few years ago I wished for a leader to represent the interests of America’s children and teachers. You granted that wish, Diane. Thank you and congratulations!
Fabulous and well-deserved. I am purchasing more Reign of Error for parents I know. But, after the season when people can focus and high-stakes testing reigns its ugly head one more time.
That is some really terrific news, congratulations!
Just finished reading Reign of Error and would like to put the book under The Gates’ family tree, the Walton’s family tree, the Eli Broad family tr, and the Duncan and Obama family trees and give it as a departing gift to mayor Bloomberg!!
Thank you Diana Ravitch for being such a eloquent, forceful voice for all of us in public education.

Thrilling! Congratulations Diane:)
Deservedly so. Simple.
Felicitaciones.
By Thanksgiving, it seemed that fewer and fewer Chicago teachers were interested in joining some of us for a monthly reading group about “Reign of Error.” I had already sold 40 copies to members of CORE, but our meetings monthly to discuss “Reign” were getting smaller. The reason was probably mostly that in Chicago the endless attacks on public school teachers have worn down some strong people. Of course, I am retired, so I don’t feel the stupid pressures brought on by the everyday policies of people who have been trained by the Broad Foundation to destroy public schools and slander every public school teacher — not to support us. The seven members of the Board of Education vote every month to destroy more public schools, and that’s after they voted on May 22, 2013 — a day that will live, too, in infamy — to close 50 real public schools.
We had discussed stopping the “Reign of Error” “CORE Book Club” that I had been leading. Reading the past week’s blogs and this recognition from The Nation has changed my mind.
We will continue meeting once a month here in Chicago to read and discuss “Reign or Error,” and some of us (teacherly, isn’t it) will continue preparing lesson plans about this important book.
Thank you for all your efforts.
😎
P.S. There is more good to come. Dr. Mercedes Schneider’s book should be out next year. It will be an independent work that will also complement and refresh REIGN OF ERROR.
Congratulations!! We are so proud. Thank you for remaining a humble and steadfast servant to true public education in the face of adversity. May you be buoyed with faith and love, always.
outstanding!
Once again proving why “the Nation” is such a great magazine.
There is some hope for the people. Congrats, Diane!
I am declaring officially Diane Ravitch as the most valuable person of the year in the United States . . . . . .
Thank you, Robert.
Diane Ravitch: Mothership of the BATs!
Yeah! There are those out there who get it.
Congratulations! Well deserved.
Congratulations, Diane. Your dedication and accurate fact-finding approach are a great inspiration. Blessings always to you and yours.
