When the trial was conducted of whether Paul Vallas had the necessary credentials to serve as superintendent of schools in Bridgeport, the attorney for the plaintiffs said he was a “drive-by superintendent.” The state commissioner of education Stefan Pryor, who picked Vallas, said he was impressed by his work in New Orleans, where he oversaw the near total privatization of the public schools.
The linked article describes testimony taken during the trial, which culminated in the judge’s decision that Vallas did not have the legally required credentials and should be removed.
Four consecutive state audits during Vallas’ time in New Orleans show gross mismanagement of the billions in federal aid pouring into the city.
Google “rsd audit” for years “2007” thru “2010.”
I believe the same can be said for Pryor. They have a symbiotic relationship, always running in after disasters. Pryor (supposedly) met Vallas during Vallas’ time in New Orleans. Pryor was also involved in the post-9/11 Lower Manhattan Development Corporation, dispersing billions of dollars for rebuilding. Interesting article on both together:

I read the article. What a mess they have been creating and all on purpose as was 9-11 to allow this all to happen across the board to create the elite and the indentured servants in what I call “Permadebt.” All the money flows to the top 1/10 of 1/10 of 1% who really control the game. 1% includes someone making $300,000/year. That is not a player in their game. Only the very top is allowed to play in the control aspect. They let others down the line make money to keep them in the ball court by bribes with our money not theirs. Just put your people in the decision making positions. You get what you want without your hands looking like they are on it.
The beautiful part about the Vallas situation is that he really broke the law and the case was filed by a former retired judge and since the name is Carmen I am assuming that this is a woman also. Now you have a real case as this retired judge is bringing a case in front of her brother judges and they know that this person knows every trick in the book and has used it and defended them. This person I am sure has thought strategy from filing to the State Supreme Court and has built in the teflon shields and is fully innoculated. This case has legs and more likely than not as long as the next courts are not bought and sold the judges decision that Vallas was not legal will stand on appeal. You never see a former judge bringing a case. This is unique and maybe should happen more often as they are so experienced and really know the system from another angle.
“You never see a former judge bringing a case.”
No, you don’t as it’s expected that they will just fade away and not expose the shenanigans that go on in many courtrooms. More power to the retired judge!
A quite famous former prosecutor, one Vincent Bugliosi, put together a very convincing case and called for the trial and impeachment of Georgie the Lesser and his cohorts led by Dickless Cheney over the starting of the imperial illegal war of aggression that still is Iraq. Needless to say it went nowhere as the Bushies have had and continue to have way too much power and control in this country. And unfortunately they ain’t going away (See Bush, Jeb. See another Bush run. See the USA get hosed again.)
Hey you don’t need credentials in Conn. just learn the reform jargon and you will be at the top of the candidate list!
Anyone notice how these EdDeformers move from state to state building up their so called “resume”. In reality it is based on a foundation that is quickly crumbling under scrutiny. So far they have been able to atay a step ahead of the truth. But the reality is that their success is built by undermining public education and leaving behind scandal and mismanagement.. It is sad that the media is not doing their job of reporting what is really happening. Most people in Louisiana are just now figuring out the truth. The New Orleans miracle is anything but. The majority of NOLA RSD charter schools score at the bottom of the list, Ds and Fs mostly. 40% of voucher students scored below proficient. no miracles here. It is amazing that these people are able to continue in their path of destruction.
He’ll get the job after a higher court appeal. Sorry to be so pessimistic. It’s just that money talks, BS walks. I just witnessed the Rhode Island commissioner get her contract renewed despite a huge outcry.
