CHRISTO GROZEV (journalist and Navalny film co-creator): I didn’t know, but I saw a couple tweets, including from Eliot, the founder of Bellingcat, who said, ‘Christo has been awarded the highest journalism prize, and I was like, what? I didn’t know there was another prize, and then I looked at what he had tweeted, and it was the announcement that I was on Russia’s Most Wanted list.

At one point in an interview in this movie, Navalny is asked about associating with far-right groups. His response was basically: look, we have a government that is arresting people because of what they are saying, that is murdering political opponents. So yes, I will sit down with anyone who shares my goal of getting these people out of power.

Highlight of the movie is when Navalny poses as a Kremlin official tasked with assembling a report about what went wrong with the plot to murder Navalny. He calls a few people who were involved in the plot but they recognize the spoof and hang up. Then they try a scientist who was involved in the formulation of the poison that was used on Navalny, and the guy describes the entire plot, and how he believed the problem was that Navalny’s flight did an emergency landing that allowed him to get medical care soon enough to save him. Amazing.
To call him courageous is an understatement.
