John Merrow reports on his ambitious birthday bike ride: he turned 82 and he successfully biked 82 miles! He was so exhilarated that he added another ten miles for good measure!
But, the bad news is that he was scammed in the process.
Read hear to learn about the scam.
And please send a gift to World Central Kitchen to honor John’s ride. WCK has been feeding Ukrainians since the invasion began. I support them.

No wonder Michelle Rhee played him so easily. He’s hopelessly gullible. Odd (but unfortunately common) characteristic for a journalist.

Dear Diane, and others,
John Merrow’s accomplishment of cycling 92 miles at the age of 82 blows my mind.
I thought I was in great shape. I cycle those distances all of the time but I’m 59.
God willing, I have something to inspire to do at the age of 82. John Merrow is a true inspiration. With the bad news part, I’m not even going to address it. I only feel the good news.
And with great accomplishments may I share yesterday’s ‘Adam Sawatsky Day’ newsletter with you. If you read it all and watch the video, you’ll know why I include it with this comment.
Dear Mr. Adam Sawatsky, and others,
“Create all that you are capable of doing. Your disabilities can be turned into capabilities. You really can overcome and prosper.”
– Miles Patrick Yohnke
As many of you know, every Sunday for me is ‘Adam Sawatsky Day’ as his stories champion the positivity of spirit. His stories align with my vision. Back in 2011, I wrote an article titled: “Mission: Possible” that received input from Randy Lennox who, at the time, was President of Universal Music Canada. Mr. Lennox later became President of Bell Media, the company through which Adam Sawatsky is employed.
My article “Mission: Possible” speaks about expanding upon positive stories and broadcasting positive news. Mr. Adam Sawatsky is the benchmark of positive stories.

In Adam’s latest story, he looks at the life of Alexis Baird who lives with cerebral palsy. It’s a high-flying story that I’m sure will deeply move you. Watching it-it reminded me of Allan and my story for him titled: “Change Your Darkness into Light” from 2010. I’ve included it below at my website and too at another website. I include it there as I think of the life of Natasha Fox.
I hope you enjoy all the materials I’ve assembled for you today on this very special ‘Adam Sawatsky Day.”

Great ride.
And, online scams are like a hall of mirrors in a scary carnival not-so-funhouse.
Congrats on getting past and over both!

I think the “scam” may be believing the story that he was scammed… His accountant also tells him that he can write the “helmet” off if enough people donate to WCK????? Sure…

David,
John Merrow does have a good sense of humor. He usually posts an April Fool comment that is close to reality.
