It’s so hard to put my head around the fact that this race is still a contest. How Trump gets any votes outside his immediate family is beyond comprehension. I doubt his niece or even his sister will vote for him.
The demographic segment that elected Trump and still favors him by 8% over Biden was identified by a scholar on the subject. The program was posted, Oct. 26, 2020, on the NPR station in Northeastern Indiana, WBOI.
The Atlantic reported last month that 1/4 of voters vote based on abortion.
But, let’s continue to pretend that Trump’s support is largely a mystery.
It’s not a mystery that they support him for the stated reasons. It’s a mystery to myself that the combination of his crude, rude, bullying, rampant lying, science-be-damned attitude doesn’t outweigh the “positives(oxymoron?)”!
For me: my revulsion for Trump encompasses many aspects: his racism, sexism, xenophobia. His destructive policies that threaten to roll back 100 years of social development. His hatred of science and anyone who is an expert, challenging his vain belief that he is an expert in all fields. His fascist rabble-rousing. His bragging. His complete lack of dignity. His pride in his ignorance. On and on. I hope he gets a fair trial and goes to prison.

We will see some time late tomorrow or thereafter how many self justifying deplorables vote for a deplorable.

ππ½π Thanks, Diane. I admit, I teared up with hope.
