Saturday Night Live, for those who have never seen it, is a comedy skit show that airs on NBC on…wait for it…Saturday night.
The cast is unable to congregate because of the virus.
In this skit, Alec Baldwin gives a graduation speech to the high school class of 2020.

👍🏽 😂 Thank you, Diane.

Priceless. Very funny. And, tragic. All at once.
We watched my son’s virtual, online college “conferral of degrees” this morning. Then add this video on top of that and it’s been a very, very strange day.
Two things I’ve learned, though:
Distance learning does not work. (Which I knew anyway when I walked out of my high school after the last real day on Friday, March 13 -but, hey, let’s all pretend.)
Drinking champagne starting at 10:30 a.m. makes me a lot less productive for the rest of the day.
Having said, that happy mother’s day to all the mom’s out there. Keep it real!

Thanks to Alec Baldwin for helping to drive the malignant narcissist madder with each impersonation. BTW, Baldwin’s father was a social studies teacher in Massapequa, Long Island, for twenty-eight years. The father was a former Marine, who in addition to teaching, coached football and the rifle team. https://www.newsday.com/entertainment/celebrities/alec-baldwin-tribute-father-massapequa-1.29875725

And just to show that real life is even more ridiculous than the parodies of it, a couple days ago Pence the Dense, not wearing a mask, delivered masks and other PPE to a nursing home. His press secretary just tested positive for the virus. He seems to think that because he has not tested positive, he can’t be carrying it. Is he the last person in the United States, excepting, of course, his boss, who doesn’t understand that he could have had a false negative and be carrying the virus? Or does he understand this and just doesn’t care? A photo op is a photo op.
Inquiring minds want to know.

Trump thinks if you test negative in Monday, but then test positive on Tuesday, the test is worthless.

Speaking of which, caught the tail end of the education segment on Samantha Bee last night. What little I saw of you was great! She’s a little too intense for me, but I appreciate that she represents a woman’s (and a Mom’s) perspective on national tv. Happy Mother’s Day!

This skit is perfection itself. I must say, may of the shows that moved back to an athome setting, in fact, have become better. Less flash, better thought. The whole piece, including the intro, the student reactions, the lines just together as if they were always meant to be there.
