A valuable website called “Unkoch My Campus” is offering a webinar where you can learn how to identify the tentacles of the Kochtopus.
Charles Koch and his late brother David
have subsidized anti-government, anti-public school policies and think tanks for decades. They underwrote the voucher campaign in Arizona and other states. They work closely with the DeVos family foundations to promote their views. The Koch’s have established centers to advocate libertarian ideas on more than 300 campuses. In the midst of the coronavirus crisis, we see how necessary it is to have a functioning federal government. At times of crisis, we understand that we need an effective public sector. The Koch movement has worked hard to reduce the ability of governments to protect their citizens.
This is a message from “Unkoch My Campus.”
We’re building a movement against the most intricate infrastructure of political influence in the country.
The bad news? This means having to track and expose hundreds of Koch-funded university programs, think-tanks, advocacy organizations, legislators, and judges working at the local, state, and federal levels. Yikes!
The good news? We can learn skills to make this work a little easier, and there are incredible researchers doing a lot of this work for us already!
To learn these skills, join our upcoming “Researching the Koch Network 101” webinar next Tuesday at 2pm ET!
Next week we’re bringing in David Armiak, Research Director at the Center for Media and Democracy, to teach us how to better incorporate opposition research into our campus and community-based campaigns. On this webinar, participants will:
Become more familiar with the universities, state-based think-tanks, advocacy organizations, and legislators involved in moving Koch’s agenda forward;
Learn about the research and resources that already exists to inform and deepen your local campaigns;
Receive an overview of basic opposition research skills experts use to conduct investigations and connect the dots;
Identify ways to leverage research produced by UnKoch’s partners to inform your grassroots base and escalate your local campaigns!
This webinar is designed with campus AND community advocates in mind. Whether you’re trying to kick Koch off of your campus or wanting to deepen your local or state-based advocacy by targeting Koch, this webinar is for you. Register to join us next Tuesday at 2pm ET!
In solidarity,
Samantha Parsons
Signed up. thanks, Diane!
Great News! thanks for sharing it with us. (I do believe this movement got started with the savvy students at George Mason University, in Virginia, just outside of Washington, D.C., a couple of years back . . . where the Koch’s “tentacles” (funding and its always-present sidekick: political power) were involved with the selection of both professors and curriculum and were uncovered by these students. So glad to hear of its broadening movement. CBK
Reblogged this on Crazy Normal – the Classroom Exposé and commented:
Join and watch the free webinar that attempts to reveal the vast subversive Koch machine that was built over a period of decades to destroy our Constitutional Republic and replace it with a Theocratic Kleptocracy ruled by autocratic billionaires like the Kocks and the Betsy DeVos family.
In an interview on Fox and Friends, today, Don the Con admitted that if the Democrats got their way and access to voting became easy (through online or by ballot voting), Republicans would never win another election:
“They had things, um, levels of voting that if you ever agreed to it you’d never have a Republican elected in this country again,” Trump admitted, providing progressives with a dream for the future to hold onto for hope.
“They had things in there,” Trump continued, “you know, about Election days, and a, what you do,” the sub-literate president said of the Democrats’ efforts to ensure the November elections are run safely and smoothly despite the coronavirus pandemic.

Diane, could you please send this to any connections you have in Arkansas? I was temporarily there when they had the takeover, and it has steadily gone downhill. They need to build a grass root resistance.
BTW, a cat in Belgium just tested positive for Covid-19. The cat caught it from an owner who had recently traveled to Italy. If you have cats or dogs you might want to consider, as a safety precaution, not letting them roam freely outside at this time.

I’m saying, keep your cat inside. Do not, do not, do not take him or her to a pound or shelter!!!
“If your cat has Coronavirus”
Teach your cat to follow these:
“Cover whiskers when you sneeze
Keep your distance from the dogs
Also from the farmer’s hogs
Quarantine yourself at home
Even though you want to roam
If, by chance you meet your death
Worry not, you’ve 8 lives left”
Ha!!! SomeDAM, that’s freaking hilarious. Thank you.
Koch industries owns Georgia-Pacific, the manufacturer of…
Toilet paper brands such as Angel Soft, Quilted Northern, Soft n’ Gentle
Paper towel brands such as Brawny, Sparkle, Ultra
These are brands I will not buy since I will not knowingly buy anything Koch.
I have wondered why Trump hasn’t directed Koch Industries to produce masks and swabs and other medical products in their massive factories.
Trump is likely well aware that Charles Koch believes in survival of the fittest- the Koch network is built on social and economic Darwinism.
The post is talking about next week, but note that the webinar is today
One would think the Kochs, who are supposedly such fans of free markets and competition, would object to this nepotism, corruption and lack of merit:
“Jared Kushner, who has no expertise in medicine, public health or government but is in charge of the White House coronavirus response, had his brother’s company (which he had a stake in) build a website to run the government’s response”
The coronavirus funding is all going to go to Trump family members and politically connected Trump affiliates unless someone starts watching these folks.
The level of corruption and self-dealing is disgusting.
“Conservatives” back this? Hiring people based on whether they’re related to the President and public funds benefiting cronies and friends? How is that competitive and merit-based?
Is it any wonder the Trump people are terrible at their jobs? None of them earned them.
The Koch talking points about free markets and liberty are cover for a return to colonialism- nothing more.
Their vision is attractive to those who want white, male privilege. The base is Republican and its voters are delivered by the leaders of the two major religions in America. Ignoring overlap, the base is voters who want people of color and women to be second class citizens.
Melinda Gates said she loses sleep over gender inequality. She ought to know about the threat, she is in the circle that runs America.
