I thought Trump would attack Biden by calling him corrupt (Ukraine) but look at what Mr. malaprop is saying, via Politico:
#BEBEST … NYT’S MAGGIE HABERMAN in Charlotte and PETER BAKER: “Trump Targets Biden Again as Democratic Race Hits Critical Stage”: “He gleefully repeated recent misstatements by Mr. Biden, including his confusion over names and states, his statement that he was a candidate for the Senate, his reference to Tuesday’s primaries as ‘Super Thursday’ and his head-spinning comment that 150 million Americans have been killed by guns since 2007.
“‘That means 50 percent of our country!’ Mr. Trump said of the gun comment. ‘That’s a big story!’ ‘Sleepy Joe,’ Mr. Trump continued, ‘he doesn’t even know where he is or what he’s doing or what office he’s running for. Honestly, I don’t think he knows what office he’s running for.’
“If Mr. Biden won the presidency, Mr. Trump said, his staff would actually do the governing. ‘They’re going to put him into a home, and other people are going to be running the country,’ the president said, ‘and they’re going to be super-left, radical crazies. And Joe’s going to be in a home and he’ll be watching television.'” NYT

Trump lacks many things – morality being the biggest – but what he has in spades is the ability to land an effective attack. The reality is that Biden has not been making sense lately. His misstatements are piling up to the point that we can’t look the other way. If Biden is nominated, Trump is going to have a field day with this and it’s going to work. I’m not saying it’s right (although, after Reagan I do wonder why we want another senile president in office), but it’s real.

Trump said: “they’re going to be super-left, radical crazies.”
This is one of many of the “effective” attacks that the “effective” Trump will be making about Bernie if Bernie becomes the nominee. And it is the reason that so many voters who are worried about defeating Trump voted for Biden today.
They are so afraid of those “effective” attacks that Trump will make against Bernie that they are now thinking Biden would be a stronger candidate.

Susan Lee Schwartz: I believe Trump has dementia or Alzheimer’s. There should be a mental health assessment before anyone can be president. I’m not sure when or how often that should be administrated, but it should be done. Physical exams aren’t covering enough.

I’ve never been so conflicted in my life heading into a primary:
“Bernie’s honest, consistent, & clearly in possession of all his faculties…”
“… but he’s too far left for centrist independents & disaffected Republicans who dislike Trump but are on the fence…”
“…but Biden might be out to lunch…”
“…but Bernie’s got that ‘socialist’ label that many people think means ‘just like Venezuela’…”
“…but Biden’s got that Hunter/Ukraine baggage that looks bad whether it’s legal or not…”
“…but if Bernie doesn’t get the nomination, his hard core supporters might throw a tantrum like in 2016 & sit out the election…”
…but… but… but…
Under the circumstances, & as much as I’d like to believe otherwise, I honestly don’t know if either will beat Trump. I would’ve felt more confident with Amy, but now, oh well…

I don’t know that Bernie can beat Trump, but I know that Biden can’t. He has far too long of a legacy of racism, sexism, corruption (if anyone wants to call any of those “smears”, I have plenty of evidence to back them up) and now he almost literally can’t finish a coherent thought without making a giant misstatement.
Bloomberg doesn’t have any better chance. If people want an authoritarian, racist Republican they’ll vote Trump.
In either of the above cases, many people will stay home – what’s to inspire anyone to support candidates like those, especially if they result from dubious primary/caucus tactics and/or a brokered convention. And even those who feel the need to hold their noses won’t donate or organize for Biden (Bloomberg I guess doesn’t need donations and he can pay people to organize). Read the Current Affairs article I posted above. If we don’t want another four years of Trump, Bernie is the only hope.

I read the above and I wonder why any older African-American voters — whose support for Biden over Bernie was instrumental in Biden’s primary victories — would ever vote for Bernie? I wonder why any of the women who voted for Biden would ever vote for Bernie?
Trump is the racist. Trump is the danger. Trump is the sexist. Trump has the long, long legacy of corruption and a current practice of racism and corruption right in front of them!
And while there was a concerted Russian propaganda effort in 2016 to convince African-American voters that it was HRC who was the racist and not Trump, I do not think they will be fooled again no matter how many white Bernie supporters tell them that they are wrong.
But I do think that hearing Bernie supporters constantly repeating the dishonest right wing memes that President Trump uses against Democrats has turned off many progressive voters who might have voted for Bernie. Think about it. If they are hearing the same lies that President Trump pushes coming from Bernie supporters, it is a big turn off.
And yes, Trump also has “proof” of all of his attacks. And also “proof” of just how honest and upright Trump himself is.
Biden has flaws. His policies are too conservative. But he is much better than Bloomberg. If Biden is the nominee, maybe some people will have to “hold their nose” and vote for Biden (I won’t), but even more people will have to “hold their nose” and vote for Bernie if Bernie is the nominee and wants to win. And those who choose NOT to vote for whosever the Democratic candidate turns out to be need to accept that they are responsible for Trump. They can’t excuse their non-support by claiming that they “would” have voted for the Democrat if it was Biden or they “would” have voted for the Democrat if it was Bernie.
That is no longer an excuse for enabling the REAL racist and sexist in the race – Donald Trump.

Biden gave two perfectly good speeches, first in South Carolina and again last night in Texas. There is no question that he is getting old and sometimes confused, but I predict that Amy Klobuchar will be his vice-president and that he will bring in other excellent people into his administration. If you didn’t see the speeches, look them up on C-span.org.
Bernie also gave a decent speech last night in Minnesota last night, but the first thing that he mentioned after his thank you was that he was going to legalize marijuana throughout the U.S. A great job of pandering to his young voters, but that is not exactly how one should lead off a speech when running for president… Biden isn’t the only politician who has shot himself in the foot…

This comment brought me pretty close to nausea. Biden-Klobuchar is a corporate dream where they will nibble at the edges of what really matters to working class people. If that’s the choice, it will be one between the immediate end of democracy or a slow death.
And to accuse Bernie of pandering is f@#$ing ridiculous, bordering on crass stupidity. He hasn’t pandered, ever. More often than not, he’s been the lone voice and others co-opt his ideas when they get traction.
Legalizing marijuana is not some fringe issue. It fundamentally changes our criminal justice system (see Illinois and other states that are finally expunging criminal records). Ask any policeman. Alcohol abuse is much more destructive. And not a single person has ever been diagnosed with cancer because of smoking pot. It’s comments like this that make me happy that I hopefully won’t live long enough to see their full consequences. But I will encourage my children to get the hell out of this country.

South Carolina and his endorsements there definitely saved Biden, but women voters make up a very big demographic and there is a strong perception that they should have had their day in the sun in 2016 instead of Trump.

Some of Bernie’s supporters got hoisted on their own petard. I absolutely support Bernie (or Warren) but too many of his supporters rejected the lessons of 2016, which should have been “what can we do to insure every American has the right to vote as Republicans try to disenfranchise traditional democratic voters (thank you Stacey Abrams!) and what can we do to to fight the outrageously dishonest propaganda effort that the right wing uses to attack our candidates instead of enabling it by repeating the propaganda non-stop and giving it legitimacy?”
Instead, we got the narrative that Bernie supporters pushed since the summer of 2016 and throughout the primary — “We believe that it is knowable in advance which candidate can defeat Trump and therefore we should all elect a candidate based on this supposed “knowledge” that more voters will vote for that candidate than Trump because we told you so when you (not us) picked a candidate that we kept telling you wouldn’t defeat Trump and you just wouldn’t listen to us.” Now voters have internalized the belief that it is knowable in advance who can defeat Trump, just like Bernie voters kept telling them.
That is the primary they got and so far, it turns out that most traditional Democratic voters decided that candidate is Biden. I just heard of a very progressive acquaintance who loved Bernie who voted for Biden today because they thought Biden would be more likely to win against Trump. (and yes, I was unhappy about it)
By the way, it is truly appalling to hear some Bernie supporters on here making claims about Joe Biden being a “racist”. No, the racist is Donald Trump and the entire Republican party. I can’t believe that some Bernie supporters are now repeating Trump’s dishonest attacks on Biden. It’s almost as if they need to “prove” that they are right when they said they knew in advance which candidates would do better against Trump so if Bernie isn’t the nominee, they will do everything they can to demonize whoever does win and give legitimacy to the lies pushed by Trump and the Republicans so they can say “I told you so”.
Joe Biden is winning primaries because he is winning the votes of older African-American women. He is winning those votes in droves. And hearing white Bernie supporters lecturing them they are voting for a “racist” by supporting Biden is truly insulting to them. If Bernie does win the primary, he has a lot of repairing of the condescension some of his white supporters have given to older African-American voters for the past few months.
Frankly, without the Biden surge, it is possible that Bloomberg could have won enough votes in the primary to win the nomination. I would far prefer Joe Biden with a good VP than Bloomberg. I will be relieved if Bloomberg gets out of the race, even if his presence is helping Bernie Sanders right now.

No matter what we hear about Biden or any other Democratic candidates, fact-check every allegation. If you can not substantiate what your hearing or reading back to reliable unbiased media sources, it is probably propaganda designed to deceive.

“As per recent Federal Court ruling, the Federal Government will be withholding funds from Sanctuary Cities,” Trump tweeted. “They should change their status and go non-Sanctuary. Do not protect criminals!”
