Gary Rubinstein doesn’t believe Teach for America’s claim that 85% of its alumni are either working in education or serving low-income communities.
He has pulled a random sample of 100 names of TFA’s earliest recruits from its directory.
Do you know any of them?

Serving low income families?

I wonder if TFA counts being a parent of a school-aged student. Or maybe they include donors to TFA and the Gates Foundation.
As Humpty Dumpty said, ‘When I use a word (like “education” or “serving”), it means whatever I choose it to mean..
Just because they may be working in education or low income communities doesn’t mean they didn’t use TFA to pad their resumes and climb ladders they should not have been able to climb so fast. Many I know of are in positions they did not really earn. They used the merger summer training to be unqualified, often bad teachers and then get promoted quickly and undeservedly. Look at Michelle Rhee. She’s an excellent example of a climber who did not know what she was doing and thought she was God’s gift to education. She hurt and cheated thousands of children, but you can still say she is in education.

And, she’s on the board of an Ohio fertilizer company owned by conservatives. What credentials does she have to qualify for that?
Well, she did grow the DC Miracle (TM)
Predictably, corrupt conservatives take the word miracle in vain.
Thanks Poet, for being a significant contributor to discussions in Diane’s living room.
I presume TFA claims the work that their plants do as legislative aides in offices like Sherrod Brown’s “serves low income families”. What a travesty. Brown asked Betsy for $71 mil. to force more charters onto Oho residents who when asked said they didn’t want them. Ohioans are already buried under charter-grifting in the hundreds of millions.
Sherrod Brown’s TFAer should be honest. Charters serve the wealthy, grifting hedge funds and tech tyrants and conservative think tanks like Fordham and CAP.
key word, forced
Ol Jlsteach showed up to give Gary s#!t about singling out TFA members. I wonder if he/she is a TFA alumni. It would certainly help explain his/her responses here in the past.
The Koch-linked Manhattan Institute understands what TFA means. It means charter schools. One of Manhattan’s senior fellows described it in 2018 while promoting Catholic schools. He quoted a black mother with a school age child, “…twenty something TFA types who are out of touch with the community…who default to suspensions because they don’t have the skills to understand their students… (who replaced the) down-the-street neighbor who taught the community children previously.”
