The second annual Public Schools Week is March 25-29. It is important that members of Congress acknowledge the important role that our public schools play in strengthening our democracy. Too many are too eager to embrace “choice” with charters and vouchers.
Let’s get every member of the U.S. House of Representatives to sign on to “Public Schools Week” this year. Ask that they support the Public Schools Week resolution.
To make that ask, just click here. Then share this link on social media.
Take action!
THANKS and done.

WordPress changed the font. I will have to figure out how to change it.

(not on topic). Chicago public schools are failing to protect the children from sexual assaults. And Chicago is not alone! Public schools are failing to protect children. see

Charles,
There are sexual assaults in elite private schools, in charter schools, and in religious schools. What is your point?
No school system is immune from this. There is no real “point”, except that Chicago appears to be in a major scandal, and cover-up.
In June 1972, some burglars were caught breaking into an office building in WashDC. Some papers ran the story. Most people did not see the point.
I expect a high standard of protection for all school children regardless of who operates the school. Many people feel that public schools should offer an even higher level of protection than non-public schools.
And when the Church comes out with frightening statistics on abuse, why aren’t we hearing those on the right call for select-membership church privatizing because everybody-included churches are failing to protect attendees…
