I will be speaking on Wednesday April 4 at University of Washington in Seattle. The lecture will be given at Kane Hall, Room 120.
I hope Bill Gates sends someone from his organization as I have some very good ideas for future funding.
On April 11, I will be speaking in Santa Fe. I will have details in a few days. I am sponsored by the Lannan Foundation. Jesse Hagopian will speak also.
On April 18, I will speak at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo.
If you live in the vicinity, please plan to attend.

Hi Diane! I look forward to seeing you at Kane Hall on Wednesday evening, here in Seattle! I’ll be bringing a fellow 8th grade parent from my son’s school, my spouse, my 26 year old niece and whomever else I can inspire to join us.
I look forward to seeing you then.
Sincerely,

I’m trying to fit Kalamazoo into a planned business trip. If I am able to make it, I’ll be the one in back screaming for the song “Free Bird” for the encore.

Dear Diane – our political book club read your book Reign of Error. On your way from Seattle to Santa Fe, why not stop in Sedona,AZ and I will arrange a lunch for you to speak at. God knows Arizona needs your wisdom! I head up the local League of Women Voters and we would host the luncheon. And Sedona i not a bad place to spend a day or two!!

Diane, I’ll be there (hopefully) as that is the same night that the Seattle School Board selects a new superintendent. We have two great candidates in Jeanice Swift from Ann Arbor and former state superintendent in Montana, Denise Juneau. There is also an ed reformer in the mix but I don’t think he has a chance, given SPS’ firm stance against charters and TFA.
I’m speaking to a group of future teachers at a university the day afterwards about charter schools. Any thoughts on what to tell them?

The Seattle event is open to the public. My understanding is that it will be hard to get in. Call ahead. Kane Hall. Room 130

Sorry to miss you in Kalamazoo Diane! My son goes to Kalamazoo College right across the street from Western. I will make sure that the K college kids get the word out about your lecture. IN my opinion, the Western Michigan Ed. Policy program is better and has much more institutional integrity than Harvard, which has should its soul to Gates.

Diane, I wish you would just SHOW UP for an event in Texas sponsored by the Holdsworth Center (H-E-B Grocery Stores).
The ElevatEd Conference will take place on Monday, June 4 on the campus of SMU in Dallas “promoting dialogue around public education in Texas and highlighting innovative ideas.”
I was excited about all of this until I saw the CEO of Teach for America is a board member.
Does public education in Texas have any more allies?
See you there? Maybe?
