Excellent video on DeVos focusing on failure of charter schools in Detroit/Michigan, her support of for-profit charters; privatization agenda. Less than 10 minutes long; well produced; interviews with parents, film clips, etc.
Please circulate, especially to people who will call Senators on Health, Education, Labor Committee. DeVos hearing is this Tuesday.

It is a well planned video with excellent production values. What scares me are some of the really obscene, racist comments, and effort to portray everyone as an “actor.”

It is a high-quality, professional production company. Laura, I know you don’t tweet, but there is a blessing in that, because you would be shocked by the racist, lurid, hateful comments that are posted by Trump supporters.

Both sides say terrible things when they can be anonymous…some even in their real name. The stuff that was said of Palin and her children from the left was equally hateful. Try being a Black conservatives-plenty of racist comments about them- called Uncle Tom, Oreos etc.
I don’t condone any of it. We can disagree without insults, name calling and vulgarity.
Btw, WSJ said that Devos will be the one confirmation that the Dems will fight hardest against. That’s good news.

The WSJ also called on Comey to do a service for his country and resign.

Not sure your point. Both sides have been upset with Comey, depending on which side benefitted. It all seems a mess.

I watched the whole thing. Where were there “obscene, racist” comments? I didn’t see that.

What Betsy DeVos did to Detroit, Littlefingers Donald Trump wants her to do the same thing to the rest of the country?

Parents, teachers and community groups should view this video. I reposted it on social media. People need to be informed about what is facing public education today.

Will watch and take appropriate action – tho’ I am one who STRONGLY prefers reading to listening.
My blog advocacy efforts center around Mental Health, and reblogs don’t work well for my attentionally struggling readers — but I DO make my [negative re: DeVoss et. al.] thoughts clear in comments on other blogs and in Pinterest memes.
LOVE Ravitch’s blog, btw – and appreciate your reblogs of this and other of her posts.
