In Minneapolis, Minnesota all four pro public education, teacher endorsed school board candidates won, beating out two incumbents! The first Somali running for state office in the US won election to the MN State House. And the school referendum renewal passed by over 80%.

Exciting to see that some communities support public schools!

And the University of Minnesota will not be renewing its contract to work with TFA to train teachers. The model was financially unsustainable especially with decreasing enrollments.

I didn’t ask Bernie but I think he would agree with this “Do not go quietly….” http://www.rjgeib.com/thoughts/proud/proud1.html We closed down , dismantled the Democratic headquarters today and I turned in my keys to the landlord. This is where we were running the No on #2 campaign under Essex County coordinator Jim McCarty (thank you , Jim ; enjoy your vacation and I will send you a letter of recommendation)……… The head of our group is 83 and she went today to an obituary writing seminar
I went to pick out my memorial stone but we will not go quietly….. I want to get Jim 3 letters of recommendation and I could sign one (a 4th) but it is important in our culture that they be signed by male figure heads in the City so I will try that (maybe I can get one from the Mayor ? or a City Council member?)
