This is a terrific short video, created by the BadAss Teachers Association. In images, it simply explains the blight that has descended on American public education because of the misguided policies of George W. Bush, President Obama, and Arne Duncan, because of No Child Left Behind and Race to the Top. Lots of kids have been left behind, and the Race to the Top was won by Pearson and McGraw Hill.
Diane,
Here’s a brilliant one that ties right in with the opting out movement from the Lafayette (IN) Journal & Courier:
West Lafayette school superintendent stands by withdraw/home-school/re-enroll comments for this year’s ISTEP testing window.

If this could pick up steam, it could have a real impact!
Thanks so much for supporting Badass Teachers Association’s newest venture – Badass Films. I made the short video as a training exercise using imovie. My district received a donation of ipads for every student. We’ll be initiating that next year, and I’ve been trying to acquaint myself with the software and what projects I might assign to students. I thought the best way to get started was to try to make a movie about something that I cared about. Toxic Testing immediately sprang to mind. I can’t imagine why! Anyway, Arne Duncan and the US Department of Education have given me a bunch of ideas for future films. It’s nice to have the support of my fellow BATS and, of course, our patron Saint – Diane of Ravich! You are so generous. I can’t tell you what it means to me that you continually help give us a voice. Thanks again! ^O^
Hi Diane:
I have been following your blog for a while now and have been quite inspired. I thought you might appreciate the Op Ed piece I just wrote about refusing the PARCC for my children.

Keep fighting the good fight!
