Here is his prediction for July:
“In an otherwise slow month for school-related news, Pearson Education announces the acquisition of the United States Department of Education. John Fallon, Pearson’s Chief Executive, appoints Arne Duncan as Chief Operating Officer for the new division. “Arne richly deserves this new appointment, as he has been working on our behalf for many years.” Doug Peterson, CEO of the McGraw-Hill Companies, asks the SEC to investigate, claiming, “I was pretty sure we had Duncan in our pocket. This is ridiculous.”

Attorney General Tom Horne, former Tucson Superintendent, says, “Why should our children waste time learning French or Spanish? Our kids don’t even speak English very good.”

You can’t make this stuff up:
“Students from @K12Learn ‘s Newark Charter Prep will ring opening bell at NY stock exchange on Mon. 27th to launch @schoolchoicewk”
Remember: charter schools in NJ are non profits! If you repeat it enough it becomes “true”.
Meanwhile, no mention of the public schools in Newark. Are they still open? Any word about how those kids are doing under ed reformer management?

Diane, I don’t know if you’ve seen this. It’s the Jefferson County (CO) school district. They had a power shift where there’s now a majority of charter promoters on the board.
The old board approved a STEM program in a public school. The new board wants to take those resources from the public school and open a STEM charter. They also plan on taking the public school “reserves” (funding for future projects) and using that to open charter schools.

I think my favorite part of the story is where the charter supporters on the board hired a private lawyer to defend “their” interests. To do this they had to violate open meetings laws. They’re paying him with 90k in public school funding.
