Courtney Everts Mykytyn was a force of nature in Los Angeles, where she led the fight for racially integrated schools. She founded an organization called “Integrated Schools,” which posted on its Facebook page the news of her tragic death in an automobile accident on Monday. She was struck and killed in front of her home.

Interesting read. As a teacher who grew up with a phone attached to the wall, I’m not easily swayed by technology. Way too much of a learning curve for me. Not surprisingly, I was unaware of most of the items on this list. (Also worth noting is the shaming toward teachers who are NOT onboard with each and every new idea reported during professional development.)
Any chance of publishing a list of the top100 tech products which do help students and their teachers in the classroom?
Thanks for this post. It is tragic that Los Angeles has lost this supporter of integration. Once again so-called choice systems create trantruming “yuppies” that use “choice” as leverage to get their way. Poor students benefit tremendously from integration. I hope more people will understand and accept its benefits to all students.
