The Bulwark reported that the State Departnent plans to put Donald Trump’s face and signature on new passports. The story has since been confirmed by major media, including The New York Times.
I breathe a sigh of relief. I renewed my passport last year. It doesn’t expire until 2035.
According to Benjamin Parker in The Bulwark:
THE STATE DEPARTMENT IS CLOSE TO FINALIZING a radical redesign of the U.S. passport to include a picture of President Donald Trump, The Bulwark has learned from two sources with knowledge of the redesign, including one who shared images currently under consideration.
The redesign is ostensibly part of a larger celebration of the 250th anniversary of American independence. It comes as the Treasury Department prepares to produce coins featuring Trump’s image—both a controversial $1 coin in general circulation1 and an “as large as possible” commemorative gold coin—and as the National Park Service emblazons Trump’s face on its park passes. Both of those redesigns were justified as being part of the 250th anniversary celebration.
According to the images of the passport redesign provided to The Bulwark, the inside cover of the new State Department-issued document will feature a scowling Trump—taken from his second inaugural portrait—superimposed over the Declaration of Independence, as well as the president’s signature in gold.

Like you, Diane, I just renewed mine. When we get rid of Trump and his acolytes, I hope those who have his imprint on their passports will be able to get new ones.

I believe there more important items that the media could be reporting on these days. Like the rising cost of everything that affects our lives, the ever increasing for the cost of Trump’s excursion into Iran, the lack of funding the “Big Beautiful Bill” for infrastructure in the US, the stealing of funds from a Pentagon account to give every military person O-6 and below $1,776 tax-free bonus (don’t get me wrong, the military needs to be paid more but rob Peter to Pay Paul), etc., etc.
Frankly, I am getting very, very tired of seeing Trump’s face every time I turn around. The only picture I want to see of Trump is the one on a wanted poster in the post office.
We hope to visit family in Italy in the next year or so plus do some traveling in a couple European countries. I am going to be somewhat embarrassed to have to show my new passport with Trump’s mug on the inside.

TRUMP IS SUFFERING FROM “DEATH ANXIETY” — People are wondering why Trump has been making remarks about if he will get into heaven. “I don’t think that there’s anything going to get me into heaven…I really don’t,” he said during a TV interview on Fox News with Fox’s Peter Doocy.
Psychiatrists know that people begin to think about their chances of getting into heaven when they know that their death is near. In psychiatry, it’s known as “DEATH ANXIETY”.
People with Death Anxiety can’t sleep at night (Trump texts throughout most nights) so they are drowsy during the day (Trump falls asleep even in high level cabinet meetings), they become mentally confused when giving talks (Trump wanders off-topic constantly), and they frequently rage at others the way that Trump again and again rages at reporters and even at the leaders of our allied nations.
People with Death Anxiety are also preoccupied with being remembered after they’re dead: That’s why Trump is plastering America with his name and picture.
HEART FAILURE: Trump’s swollen legs and ankles are a classic indication of congestive heart failure, a diagnosis supported by the constant bruises in the backs of his hands which are typical of frequent IVs to drain excessive fluids from his body to delay inevitable heart failure as long as possible. Death could come at any minute and Trump’s realization of that fact is most likely the cause of Trump’s Death Anxiety. The reason why Trump is building a medical center beneath his White House ballroom is because Trump needs to be close to immediate medical treatment.
FRONTOTEMPORAL DEMENTIA — Clinical psychiatrists observing Trump’s erratic behavior, his memory lapses, his confusion, and his unsteady gait, diagnose him as having frontotemporal dementia.
ANGRY, CURSE-WORD-FILLED outbursts are one of the characteristic behaviors of someone who has frontotemporal dementia. Trump’s outbursts even include public use of the F-word in speeches which is an embarrassment to America and something that no President has ever done in public in front of the entire world.
DELUSIONS are another behavior someone with frontotemporal dementia shows, such as Trump’s delusional insistence that Iran was building nuclear weapons, while at the same time he was saying that, Trump’s own White House officials were telling Congress under oath that Iran was not building nuclear weapons and was no threat to the United States.
WHAT HAPPENS TO ALL OF US if during one of Trump’s 3 a.m. rants on social media, Trump is struck with the delusional dementia belief that China is about to launch missiles at us and so Trump orders a pre-emptive nuclear missile strike? All the sensible Pentagon generals with actual war experience have been fired by Hegseth and replaced with Hegseth’s “warriors” who are only too eager to push that red Launch button. There is no place for us to hide from China’s missile response to that dementia delusion. Nuclear missiles will fly in both directions, the atmosphere of the entire planet will become toxic…Earth dies…we all die.
God, help us.

Who gives a damn about fictional heaven. Religious faith beliefs forced upon 85% or so of the population from birth on die (pun intended) hard. Idiocies abound in this world.

Just when you think we have endured enough humiliation, here comes the orange megalomaniac to make things worse. Passports are good for ten years. Who wants his face reminding us of all the trauma? I will be sure to wait to renew mine until after “the pseudo sun king” is done robbing us and is off playing golf somewhere, or maybe sitting in some place more confining.

At this point, one wonders when Trump will have the biggest, bestest and hottest pyramid ever built in the known universe, about 100 times bigger than the Great Pyramid of Giza, built for Pharaoh Khufu.
Pharaoh Trump’s narcissism and egomania are insatiable. Now passports, sigh, it’s obscene.

I’ve said it before–we can’t only blame Trump. We know he is a sad, insecure, narcissistic, delusional old man. The problem is all of the spineless, fearful, weasels who surround him & won’t say or do anything to stop his megalomaniacal desires to immortalize himself. I fear that the next administration will be resigned to leave many of his ego driven projects in tact, rather than tear them down. We cannot allow any memorials to this sorry excuse for a President of the US.

We are celebrating 250 years of the United States, and Trump is ruining it by making it all about himself. I remember when we celebrated our bicentennial in 1976. Although he appeared at special events as would be expected, President Ford didn’t post his face all over everything. Special coins were made, the most common of which is the Bicentennial Quarter that you can still find among your change today.
I don’t know of us ever having a living President, let alone an incumbent, on our currency until now. This stands in stark contrast to incumbent presidents from past commemorative years (50 yr, 100, 150, 200, etc.). Yet here we are today with Trump on our coins to commemorate 250 years. Coins exist even from ancient times, and these coins will be an artifact of Trump’s grandiose narcissism more so than a memento of our Semiquincentennial.
