   This is a bit off topic, but I’ve found myself a bit short on funds and have been exploring ways to supplement my pension. Lately, I’ve been wondering whether trolling might be a viable option.

   I’ve noticed that trolls are often the first to comment on posts. Is there a bonus for that?

   Given the apparent expertise of some commenters here, I was hoping a few professional or semi-professional trolls could share their experiences. What are the working conditions like? Is the pay hourly or per post? Are there performance bonuses for snideness, mischaracterization, or repetition? Any benefits, flexible hours, or opportunities for advancement?

   Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

   Stacey Goddard of Wellesley College and Abraham Newman of Georgetown University are the ones who got it right:

   They point out that what has been emerging since the rise of billionaires in politics in the post-Citizens United political world is a new social order in the United States and in other nations — a new social order that Goddard and Newman identify as “Neo-Royalism”.

   The new “royals” — the billionaires — in America and other nations are hyper-elites who steer the politics in their respective nations on paths that are chosen to make the hyper-elites ever more wealthy and ever more socially/politically elite…far above the rest of us serfs who don’t even figure into the hyper-elites’ plans. Whatever happens to us serfs is disregarded by them as unimportant collateral damage.

   Basically, America is well along the way to returning to a feudal society, and there is very little realistic optomism that the trend will be reversed, barring a huge meteor descending upon Earth or a CME so huge that it dwarfs the Carrington Event and destroys the Internet that makes it possible for the Neo-Royalists to grow their wealth and to control us serfs.
