I confess. I am anti-fascist.
I have been anti-fascist for as long as I can remember.
As a young child during World War II, I remember everyone saying that we–the USA–would defeat fascism, and we did.
All my life, when people promote hatred and violence, I sense fascism. It’s in my bones.
When a bully attacks someone smaller and weaker, I sense fascism.
Fascists always need someone weaker to label as the enemy, someone to hate.
When a government kidnaps people off the streets, takes them away without a warrant, and imprisons them without a trial, that’s fascism.
I believe in freedom of speech, freedom to practice one’s religion or no religion, freedom of assembly, freedom of the press, and the right of citizens to petition their government.
When a government decides who is not allowed to speak and censors them or gets them fired for what they say, that’s fascism.
I support the Constitution of the United States.
I believe our elected officials should promote the general welfare and ensure that everyone has good, affordable healthcare and access to decent housing. No one should die because they can’t afford healthcare.
I vote against candidates who encourage hatred for the weak and minorities.
I am anti-fascist.
I have always been anti-fascist.
Prosecute me if you dare.
The First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution protects five fundamental freedoms: freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom of assembly, and the right to petition the government

I am, too, Diane. Things are happening so fast, which is the fascist playbook plan. Manipulating data, challenging the military command, building an army of masked bandits, terrorizing migrants, firing people at will, surrounding himself with fascist sycophants—and more—Thank you, Diane

I don’t like bullies. What’s wrong with me?

If that is actual AI, as in Artificial Intelligence, it looks like someone in power forgot to check for DEI, as well as other humanitarian components, and then program it be a heartless bully that promotes segregation, inequality, exclusion, racism, xenophobia, misogyny, etc (aka fascism). Or maybe doing so will be next on their agenda?

Yup, it’s actual AI. In this case, CoPilot, a feature in the MS Edge browser. Easy to engage. AI can’t think, although it implements “deep learning” algorithms. Consequence? Go looking for biases in AI, you will find them. Don’t, and you won’t.

I am anti-fascist, too. My great grandparents were murdered by fascists.
But I understand the pro-fascists don’t like us and believe we are evil.
If you aren’t against fascists, you are for them.

I fear Franco fascism. While we fought hard to defeat the Axis powers, we allowed Franco, backed Pinochet, and enabled Mobutu. These latter day fascists were every bit as damning to society as the ones we fought, just not powerful enough to cause as much economic damage.
This is what we are headed for, as is evidenced by CPAC adulation for Orban. It has the threat of long-term one party rule. The Hungarian economy, like that f Franco’s Spain, has suffered. The ballot box is ineffective in removing the roadblocks to improvement.

Born in the UK in the shadow WWII, which my father and uncle fought. Witnessed the rise and demise of many a British little fascist, Holocaust denier, and then the rise of the brutish and hellishly ignorant new version of the UK Right. You bet I’m anti-fascist.
Just suggestion for folk in the USA who encounter American National Socialists or apologists for Hitler and his crew or who are in love with the myth of the SS. One phrase to hand to them, and see them squirm
‘Malmedy 17th December 1944.

Thank you.
Your only error is believing that the current American fascists ever heard of Malmedy.

I thought of that one.
If I ever came to the USA there would be copies of the photos of the dead Americans to shove in the faces of the fascists.

My father was one of the soldiers who opened the gates of the Dachau concentration camps, after a brief skirmish, in WWII. What he saw there changed his life. A brilliant concert pianist, he went to law school on the GI Bill and dedicated his life to the legal profession in the public sector.
We were all anti-fascist in our family. And this extended to our neighborhood. There was a sense of unity after WWII. It’s slowly eroded, over the years. To the point of polarization that we’re seeing today.
And the dictator in the making is becoming even more emboldened. Remember how he knew nothing about Project 2025, while campaigning? This quote of his, from The Hill:
”I have a meeting today with Russ Vought, he of PROJECT 2025 Fame, to determine which of the many Democrat Agencies, most of which are a political SCAM, he recommends to be cut, and whether or not those cuts will be temporary or permanent. I can’t believe the Radical Left Democrats gave me this unprecedented opportunity.”

I thought Trump wasn’t a Nazi but was a fascist. I was wrong. Trump is a Nazi.
Nazism is a form of fascism that is defined by its extreme nationalism, and racism. While all Nazis were fascists, not all fascists were Nazis, as Nazism contains a virulent racial ideology that was not a central part of Italian fascism, for example. The core difference is that Nazism prioritizes race, while other forms of fascism prioritize the state.
Nazism is centered on the false belief in an Aryan “master race” and the need to maintain its purity. This led to a pseudoscientific racial hierarchy that categorized Jews, Roma people, Slavs, Black people, and others as “inferior”.
The concept of Lebensraum, or “living space,” justified the territorial expansion of Germany into Eastern Europe. This was pursued with the goal of removing or enslaving the existing populations to make way for German settlement.
The Nazi regime sought to completely control all aspects of public and private life through propaganda, terror, and the suppression of any dissent. This was enforced by a hierarchical party structure and paramilitary organizations like the SS and Gestapo.
For Trump the SS is ICE.
Does trump have his Trump-apo in place yet?

I am proud to be an anti-fascist. Starting 82 years ago my parents raised me to anti-fascist. My Father helped protect his country from Fascist people like Trump and his minions.
I followed my Father’s footsteps and served until retirement. I could not think of a better career then to get rid of Fascist people.
Come after me if you will but there will be a price to pay.
