Trump is a petty man who is filled with rage, grievance, and a passion for retribution. His current target is Harvard University because the nation’s most prestigious university told him no. Harvard’s President Alan Garber said it would not allow the federal government to control its curriculum, its admissions, and its hiring policies. No.
Every Cabinet department has pulled research grants to Harvard. Now he warns he might turn the billions that were going to medical and scientific research and hand it over to trade schools.
He would rather stop researchers who are trying to find cures for cancer, tuberculosis, Alzheimer’s, multiple sclerosis, and other diseases than back down on his efforts to stifle academic freedom and his vendetta against Harvard.
I don’t know about you, but I would rather see the federal government fund the search for a cure for MS than withdraw the funding. If he wants to fund trade schools, why should he do so at the expense of crucial research?
He wrote on Truth Social yesterday:
“I am considering taking Three Billion Dollars of Grant Money away from a very antisemitic Harvard, and giving it to TRADE SCHOOLS all across our land,” Trump said in a post on social media. “What a great investment that would be for the USA, and so badly needed!!!”
Meanwhile, Trump dreamed up another way to harass Harvard during the hours when he couldn’t get to sleep. He demanded that Harvard give him a list containing the names and countries of origin of all its foreign students. Harvard has nearly 7,000 foreign students. Why? What will he do with those names? Will he say they are spies and try again to expel them? Funny thing is he already has all their names and countries. They were registered when they applied for a visa. It’s all a campaign of endless vengeance by a petty, bitter man.

We have to remember that Trump has the mental capability of a rock so it would never ever occur to him to information already in the government data basis. And/or he just wants to harasses Harvard so more.

Yes, the State Department has all the information he is demanding. He’s also encouraged MAGA to believe that foreign students are subsidized by the federal government. My understanding is that their tuition is paid by either their family or their government.

This is particularly egregious since universities all across the country depend on selling their educational product on a global market. You would think Trump is acting out of particular malice to the good of the United States if (cough, cough) you did not know better.

While fixated on revenge, humiliation, and coded objectives in his version of “great” – we must be as fixated on Republican U.S. Representatives and Senators who are complicit in every action taken.
The Constitution does not allow a president to what s/he wants with a “stroke of the pen” or a midnight tweet. Nor should they turn blind eyes and deaf ears to derogatory tweets and off script rants.
They watched him swear on a Bible to uphold the Constitution. And now they witness that he didn’t mean 100% of it, witness literally taking food out of the mouths of babes, and witness the collateral damage exacted on thousands of college students and academic institutions (and intellectualism) and subsequently affecting millions of Americans much needed doctors, scientists, teachers, and more.

In addition to medical research, no one would be reading this right now had the federal government not dumped millions of dollars into universities in the 1980s-1990s to commercialize the internet for consumer use. I thought the whole “Al Gore invented the internet” thing was a silly joke everyone went along with until I read the book “How the Internet Happened” by Brian McCullough.

The State Department has temporarily halted student visa interviews while it works out a new program of pre-interview social media vetting for prospective international students. The United States has long been blessed to have the talents of hundreds of thousands of brilliant students who come to study here and then enter our research facilities and businesses or start ones of their own. The morons in the IQ47 kakistocratic clown government are going to turn us into a freaking third-world country with a petty, puffed up dictator.

Apparently, Trump believes Harvard is antisemitic because he says so without proof. He says the 7000 foreign students should not be allowed to attend Harvard without reason. I remain hopeful that Trump will continue to lose in court and the Congress of the United States takes back its authority and fulfill its oath to protect and defend the Constitution.

Trump could start his war on anti-Semitism by firing some of his appointees. No more meetings with Nick Fuentes and Ye. No more referring to those who wear CAMP AUSCHWITZ T-shirts as “patriots.”
