The right is upset because Pope Leo intends to serve the needs of those that they despise, the marginalized poor, the disenfranchised, those with special needs and immigrants. Pope Leo embodies the actual teachings of Jesus which offends many cruel racists that support the current administration, and Trump continues to pay off his debt to his benefactor, Musk. The US government has granted refugee status to 54 Afrikaner South Africans, a group of white descendants of mainly Dutch and French colonizers, with the first group expected to arrive in the US on May 12. This action was taken after President Trump issued an executive order prioritizing the processing of white South Africans claiming racial discrimination, despite the suspension of the program.

I have seen the suggestion that perhaps the election of Pope Bob might have come as a reaction to wealthy American Catholics trying to buy the papacy before the conclave.

Considering the sad shape of the Vatican finances, which doesn’t seem to get mentioned very often in the main stream press and which, at least it seems to me, to have come about due to legal liability losses stemming from the abuse of innocents by the priestly class, I’m surprised that they didn’t buy off the cardinals to get a regressive into the papacy.
