Blogger Jeff Tiedrich traces the origins of the phony story about the terrorist who ruthlessly mowed down revelers in New Orleans.
The tale told on FOX News was that the truck used by the terrorist crossed the Mexican border only two days earlier. This was immediately accepted by the MAGAverse because it confirms what they already believed: immigrants are murderers, rapists, and now….heartless terrorists.
Jeff’s post has a screen shot of the original story before it was retracted.
We now know that the perpetrator was born in Beaumont, Texas, went to Georgia State, and lived in Houston.
Open the link and see how quickly this lie spread and continued to spread long after FOX retracted its first report.
Why so much hatred of immigrants?
Donald Trump is married to an immigrant from Slovenia.
JD Vance is married to the daughter of immigrants from India.
Elon Musk is an immigrant from South Africa.
Vivek Ramaswamy’s parents were immigrants from India. His father still holds an Indian passport.

Does anyone in Trumpistan even care about the facts, or is that just us? Seriously, I don’t follow Fauxistas closely enough to know, so give me examples if you know of any.

There are many Americans of all stripes that aren’t doing well. Menial jobs, no savings, widening income gap, not much of a future, at least that’s the perception. They need a scapegoat, and immigrants (specifically POC; Trump doesn’t seem to have the same issues with Norwegians) have been targeted as the scapegoat du jour for a long time. It’s a convenient, corporate-driven deflection from the root causes of economic dysfunction (corporate greed, billionaire greed, Wall Street greed, tax greed), and all the while the right-wing corporate media that wants to protect this model will continue to lie about immigration just to keep the status quo going. And unfortunately, it’s working.

As a way of hopefully getting some of the MAGA Minions to actually think about what is going on, I’ve posted the following multiple times on the Facebook pages of Fox News, Newsmax, etc. If anyone wants to copy and do the same, feel free:
ARMY VETERAN COMMITS TERRORIST ATTACK
The 42-year old U.S. Army veteran who committed the terrorist attack that killed 15 people in New Orleans was born in Texas and served in the regular Army from 2006 to 2015, including duty in Afghanistan in 2009, and served in the Army Reserves from 2015 to 2020. He was honorably discharged.
Yet, he plowed into the New Year’s celebration crowd in New Orleans while flying a black ISIS flag in the bed of his truck.
Why?
Why would a native-born Texan and Army veteran do that? Was he angry from being called names and treated like an undesirable immigrant by other Americans who judged him by the way he looked and the color of his skin?
Hatred creates hatred.

A typical rationalization of murder by the left-wing fanatics who comment on this blog. The killer was obviously a radical Islamist.

This appeared in The Houston Chronicle today:
Sitting in the garage of his family’s home in southeast Beaumont, Abdur-Rahim Jabbar said his family struggled to comprehend the news his older brother was behind the deadly New Year’s Day attack on Bourbon Street.
A day earlier, his aunt had called him and said the news was reporting that, Shamsud-Dinn Jabbar, 18 years older than Abdur-Rahim, was named as the driver in the truck attack that killed 14 people and injured dozens more in New Orleans before he was shot and killed by police.
“This is completely out of his character,” Abdur-Rahim Jabbar said. “You would never think he would do anything like this. He was just the calmest, most gentle person you could possibly know.”
LIVE UPDATES: Houston suspect Shamsud-Din Jabbar acted alone in New Orleans terror attack, FBI says
Abdur-Rahim said he had to tell their father, who recently suffered a stroke, about what his brother did.
Shamsud-Dinn Jabbar grew up in the house on the quiet one-way street, his brother said.
He was the oldest of four brothers, two of whom were his half-siblings. Shamsud-Dinn Jabbar split time growing up in Beaumont and Houston, where he lived with his mother after she divorced their father, his brother said. He attended Beaumont’s now-closed Central High School.
Micah Roach remembered Jabbar as a friendly classmate. He and Jabbar graduated from Central High School in Beaumont in 2001.
“He was a well-dressed, well-spoken kid,” Roach said. “Real, real smart. He never caused any trouble with anybody.”
Roach said he was surprised at Jabbar’s actions in New Orleans.
“From what I remember of him, he wouldn’t hurt a fly,” Roach said.

Trump’s mother was an immigrant from very humble beginnings in Scotland. Born in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland, MacLeod immigrated to the U.S. in 1930 and became a naturalized citizen in March 1942.
Trump’s paternal grandparents came from Germany.
Trump should just shut the heck up about immigrants.

Unless your family bloodlines trace to indigenous people, i.e., those who lived in America before Columbus, WE ALL COME FROM IMMIGRANTS. The immigrants that are targeted today are not people traditionally known as white, they are people of color, such as Hispanics, Blacks, Muslims, etc. AND the indigenous people (native Americans).
The purpose of targeting those folks is to single them out and treat them as if they are less than human, as well as to increase the population and status of whites. It’s planned White Supremacy and discrimination against virtually all other people. That’s the tRump/MAGA/GOP modus operandi today.

Trump cares about immigration the same way he cares about abortion or LGBTQ rights – he doesn’t. Trump doesn’t care enough about other people to even notice let alone care whether they are Black, white, Asian, Latino, gay, straight, male, female, etc. What he cares about is power. People are just useful or not to him. If it’s useful to demagogue against minority groups (which, this being the U.S., it usually is), then Trump will do it. The rare times it’s useful to “speak up” about minority rights, he’ll do that. He personally doesn’t give a rat’s rear, just whatever will whip up his base and gain him support. Since powerful people are usually straight, white and male, that’s who Trump typically publicly supports, but he’s happy to use anyone he can.
