General John Kelly, who served as Trump’s Chief of Staff, and General Mark Milley, who was appointed by Trump as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (the nation’s highest ranking officer), both warned in recent days that Trump is a fascist at heart.
Trump now calls both men stupid and incompetent, even though he appointed them.
Kelly told the New York Times that Trump should not be re-elected because of his desire to be an absolute dictator and his ignorance of the Constitution:
He said that, in his opinion, Mr. Trump met the definition of a fascist, would govern like a dictator if allowed, and had no understanding of the Constitution or the concept of rule of law.
Mr. Trump “never accepted the fact that he wasn’t the most powerful man in the world — and by power, I mean an ability to do anything he wanted, anytime he wanted,” Mr. Kelly said….
He discussed and confirmed previous reports that Mr. Trump had made admiring statements about Hitler, had expressed contempt for disabled veterans and had characterized those who died on the battlefield for the United States as “losers” and “suckers” — comments first reported in 2020 by The Atlantic...
When Mr. Kelly left the White House in 2019, he decided he would speak out on the record only if Mr. Trump said something that he found deeply troubling or involved him and was wildly inaccurate.
Mr. Trump’s recent comments about using the military against what he called the “enemy within” were so dangerous, he said, that he felt he had to speak out.
Using the Military Inside the U.S.
“And I think this issue of using the military on — to go after — American citizens is one of those things I think is a very, very bad thing — even to say it for political purposes to get elected — I think it’s a very, very bad thing, let alone actually doing it,” Mr. Kelly said.
Mr. Kelly said that Mr. Trump was repeatedly told dating back to his first year in office why he should not use the U.S. military against Americans and the limits on his authority to do so. Mr. Trump nevertheless continued while in office to push the issue and claim that he did have the authority to take such actions, Mr. Kelly said.
General Mark Milley told author Bob Woodward that: “former president Donald Trump is a “fascist to the core” and “the most dangerous person to this country.'”
Trump had previously threatened General Milley with a court-martial on charges of treason, followed by execution.
The MSNBC website described General Milley’s concerns.
When Gen. Mark Milley retired last year, following more than four decades of military service to the United States, he delivered a retirement speech that included some language that did not go unnoticed. “We don’t take an oath to a king, or a queen, to a tyrant or dictator — or wannabe dictator,” the retiring general said.
Many assumed, of course, that he was referring to Donald Trump, but the phrasing was at least somewhat subtle, and the four-star Army general did not elaborate. At least, he didn’t elaborate publicly at the time.
As The Washington Post reported, Milley apparently put subtlety aside when speaking to Bob Woodward for the longtime journalist’s new book.
Retired Gen. Mark A. Milley warned that former president Donald Trump is a “fascist to the core” and “the most dangerous person to this country” in new comments voicing his mounting alarm at the prospect of the Republican nominee’s election to another term, according to a forthcoming book by Washington Post associate editor Bob Woodward.
Milley’s assessment of the Republican candidate is rooted in first-hand experience: Trump handpicked Milley to serve as the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and the general worked alongside the then-president for more than a year.
“No one has ever been as dangerous to this country as Donald Trump,” the general told Woodward. “Now I realize he’s a total fascist. He is the most dangerous person to this country.”
Milley went on to note that he feared a possible court martial in a second Trump term — despite the fact that he’s now a civilian — and those concerns are well grounded. After all, according to Trump’s former Defense secretary, Mark Esper, Trump set out to have two highly decorated retired military leaders — Stanley McChrystal and William McRaven — court-martialed for saying things about the former president that he didn’t like.

How will historians explain that 50% of the country completely ignored this hateful man’s statements and the warnings. Is America so glued to reality tv and hopelessness to control their own destiny that they (we?) latch on to anyone who spouts off anything because we need leaders who spout off?
There have been periodic references to Jonestown in comments. Watch the video clip of people videoing and salivating over trump dancing on stage. It’s got nothing to do with the economy or anything else but idol worship.
It’s doubtful they have seen or heard any of these military and security leaders statements. And, if they did, they’d probably call them liars or jealous or who knows what.
He only cares about the billionaires and talk show hosts. He’ll sell out the American public and his followers in a heartbeat.
Please, give the man an Emmy award (he’s still ticked about that) and tell him to go away.

Trump has already trashed the competence and intelligence of these highly respected generals.
Trump called Marine General John Kelly one of the “dumbest people” he has met. He called Milley “stupid” and threatened to have him tried for treason.
He said that he fired Kelly because of his “stupidity” and now Kelly is acting vengefully.

Trump wanted an Emmy? OMG. I still can’t get that picture out of my head when Trump pushed his way through all of those foreign leaders to stand in front of them. Trump is one of those jokes that everyone “gets,” bur no one laughs at.
Where was abortion when we needed it? CBK

As “And in Missouri” said above, most Fox watchers will never see or hear what these generals have said about Trump. So this emphasizes the point of which immigrants are truly doing harm to our country–not the hard-working farm worker. The worst, most dangerous & damaging immigrants to our country are Rupert Murdoch & Elon Musk. When Righties cry about Free Speech being attacked by Lefties who try to call out or suppress lies & disinformation on Fox & Social Media sites like Facebook & Twitter, they want to protect their Freedom of Speech to propagate those lies & disinformation. Go figure how people support this stuff.

He’s not even efficient at that! Say like Franco or Mussolini in his heyday who both stuck to basic fascist militaristic mindsets.
He is more like one of those dangerous and initially seeming comic types such as Idi Amin.

Trump was Generals who are like the ones Hitler had who will give him Sieg Heil salute. The next step will be the huge military parades will all the service members also giving him the Sieg Heil salute. But want Trump maybe be forgetting that several high ranking Germany General turned on Hitler and supported the attempt on his life.
I believe Trump would be very hard pressed to get Generals like Kelley and Miller and other high ranking military members to fall in line like they did in Germany.
It would be a cold day in H### before I, as a retired officer, would ever give Trump the Sieg Heil salute. Maybe the middle figure salute is more appropriate. I remember seeing a picture of a large group of German officers giving Hitler his salute but there one officer in the middle of the picture who did not. Good for him.

I am fully accepting the military people who are speaking out… but today in Massachusetts i am enraged at the Pioneer institute …I’m tired of the arrogance…. “experts predict that pandemic learning loss will result in a 6 percent decline in lifetime income. But in Massachusetts the decline is likely to be closer to 8 percent, because the return on academic skills is generally higher in the Commonwealth.” from Pioneer Institute today — this is hogwash….. well they should be telling us that MANY people LOST THEIR LIVES — not just their future potential income during the pandemic. And when they use our students for these algorithms, the YOUNGER the child, the less they can predict anything at all! The math and “economists” are off the walls when they come up with these arrogant reports to drive the politics in our state (we have a ballot question about MCAS standardize test being used as a graduation requirement. At least the Noble economists have offered support for Harris.

Time for some humor. Many of you may be familiar with the story of Tennessee’s Alvin York, who became famous when he engineered the capture of 100+ Germans in the final month of The First World War.
York had been a pacifist due to his brand of Christianity before being drafted, and had to be persuaded to fight. Once out of the war, he tried to bring education and development to his community. Soon his country was in conflict over the rise of Fascism. York was so convinced that Hitler was a bad man, and so upset at Charles Lindbergh for soft-pedaling Hitler that he marked his bathroom with Lindbergh beside the Spirit of St Louis, a popular way to denigrate people in that day.
What would York say today?

If Traitor Trump lies and cheats his way back into the White House, there are so many scenarios that may happen, I can’t list them all.
At the top of my list, I expect an all out Civil War as many states, like California, New York, and. Hawaii, refuse to accept the traitor as their president, and leave the union. Even if the six fascist justices on the US Supreme Court rule they can’t.
Since the traitor has never been popular (less than 30% have ever supported the orange toddler) among the officers in the military, most of them will refuse to obey his orders. The oath officers take to defend the US Constitution against domestic and foreign enemies says nothing about obeying the president. Their oath is slightly different than the troops they lead, which says they have to obey the president and their officers. What if their officers order their troops to disobey the president, who will the troops listen to? The Traitor has never had a majority of the troops support him. And at this point, the number that still do is lower than ever.
The worst that may happen if the traitor loses are more violent insurrections that will all fail like the one on January 7, 2021 did. Still, people will die on both sides.
