The conservative news site “The74 Miliion” revealed a dubious expenditure by the far-right group that calls itself “Moms for Liberty.” The group is known for its advocacy against “critical race theory,” teaching about gender, and masking.
Moms for Liberty, one of the fastest-growing and most recognized conservative parent advocacy groups in the nation, paid $21,357 to a company owned by the husband of one of its founding members, campaign finance records show.
The group doled out the money to Microtargeted Media, founded by Christian Ziegler, a current Sarasota County commissioner and vice chairman of the Florida GOP, in late August.
Moms for Liberty was founded by three people, Tina Descovich, Tiffany Justice and Bridget Ziegler, Christian’s wife, who served as its director through February 2021. Bridget Ziegler joined the Sarasota County School Board in 2014 and was re-elected this summer.

She was not named by the two other founders in numerous early press interviews, an omission some critics charged was meant to distance the group from Florida’s GOP power structure. Descovich said Ziegler stepped away to pursue other interests. Moms for Liberty contributed $250 to her school board campaign in mid-July, records show. Bridget Ziegler could not be reached for comment. Her husband, who responded to The 74 through Twitter Thursday evening, would not discuss his company’s work for Moms for Liberty.
“I don’t share information about my clients as I do not speak for them,” Christian Ziegler wrote. “You can contact Tina directly for any additional insight.”
Microtargeted Media, which specializes in targeted text messaging and digital advertising, has made hundreds of thousands of dollars from right-wing political campaigns. Its recent clients also include Florida state Sen. Joe Gruters, chairman of the Florida GOP and an ardent Trump supporter. His campaign paid the company nearly $28,000 for its services.
Florida Conservatives United, a PAC, has paid Microtargeted Media more than $15,000.

Moms for Liberty is a right wing front for DeSantis’ anti-public school agenda. They are funded by dark money, but it is clear there are some significantly wealthy right wing extremists behind them. Within weeks of getting organized during the summer, the “Moms” were everywhere on conservative media trying to undermine trust in pubic education. They and DeSantis are largely responsible for the screaming and sometimes threatening parents that appeared at school boards earlier this year. Their goal is to target school boards and force out anyone that disagrees with DeSantis’ plans to get his sympathetic pawns in control of school boards across the state. DeSantis intends to dominate the public dollars in K-12 education and state supported universities as well. Conflicts in interest do not phase these zealots. They are all part of the “good ole DeSantis” network.

The proper title for this group should be “Three Fascist RINO Moms for Liberty”
Fascist and Liberty are two words that do not go well together considering that alleged nationalist fascists like Tina, Tiffany, and Bridget do not support freedom for everyone, as protected by the US Constitution. Fascists want to only allow fascists to have that freedom.

My unit, “Censorship & the Power of the Book,” scored huge points with my juniors this year. Showing video, news clips, reading news articles, showing Slides presentations, taking surveys, soliciting opinions, all open ended and totally question-based: I spared no one, from those who manufactured the CRT and LGBTQ “crises” to Cancel Culture warriors. They loved it and it fired them up. They understand that reading books of their choosing is not only their First Amendment right but also a subversive activity now and they are hungry.

Great work! In Florida you could have your teaching license revoked for teaching young people to think. You could be charged with “wokeness.” DeSantis doesn’t want people to think. He wants them to follow and obey like a well trained dog.

Hi, I’m Average Mom! Here’s my friend, Very Average Mom. We’re tired of Socialists trying to teach our children to hate themselves and to hate America. That’s why we will be spending 100 million this year, raised during our Pumpkin Festival Bake Sale, to get out The Word. And remember, the WP salute doesn’t mean WordPress! Ha ha.

This summer (8-19-2022), Salon described M4L as awash in political and RELIGIOUS messaging. The same article describes Betsy DeVos’ much-cheered call for an end to DOE at an AEI event, a month prior.
Catholic World Report posted an article by a Pasadena City College professor who described CRT as, “not only problematic” and additionally having a “deeply cultish…quality.” That’s really rich given a sect(s) with the baggage of preposterous beliefs held by the Catholic Church (and, an overwhelming majority of evangelicals). The Catholic Church and the Southern Baptist Convention have convinced their female members that God/Jesus want women in lesser positions- psychological manipulation just like a cult.
