A 38-year-old woman in McMinn County, Tennessee, was arrested and charged with raping multiple boys at McMinn Central High School.
ATHENS, Tenn. (WATE) – An Englewood woman has been indicted on more than 20 sex charges after investigators say she traded items for sexual encounters with male students who attend McMinn Central High School.
Melissa Blair, 38, is charged with 18 counts of aggravated statutory rape, four counts of human trafficking by patronizing prostitution and one count of solicitation. She turned herself in Tuesday and was booked into the McMinn County Jail on a $100,000 bond. She is not, nor has she ever been, a school employee.
This is the same county where the school board voted unanimously to remove the Pulitzer Prize-winning graphic novel MAUS from the curriculum. They said it was inappropriate because, it contained nudity (of mice)
Seems to me that McMinn town officials and parents have a whole lot more to worry about than a book about the Holocaust. The reading list is the least of their troubles.

As a rape survivor, I have difficulty with associating the trauma I endured with calling teen-aged boys having sex with an older woman “rape”. I am sure none of them had to be held down, beaten up, a rag put in their mouths to stop their screaming or be fucked against their will. I would bet the house they were lining up to have sex with this woman.
I see where you are with that. Perhaps the law needs to catch up with reality. I assume you will agree a teacher lining up sex with students whether they willingly participate or not is not a situation that is desirable.

And I love and totally agree with the title of RudePundit’s post about censorship of curricula. Got that right!
And this statement undermines the feminists story line IMO. Not a lot of equality in that statement.
She was never employed by the school and instead is a parent of a student at the school – that’s where she got access to “school clubs, like any other parent” according to the article.
I just don’t think one can hold the school responsible for this one.

Tenn. and its border state to the southeast, Georgia, have diversity of white opinion and behavior (no doubt) but, the slogan of a white candidate in the Georgia Governor primary would invite widespread ridicule in states with white Democratic majorities. The slogan, “Jesus Guns Babies”, only in the mind of a Christian nationalist is that ideologically consistent (as observed by an internet commenter).
There are a lot of God, Guns, and Guts bumper stickers around here.
Last summer I was dragged by friends to the 4th of July Fireworks Show in Marysville, Ohio. I wandered off to the concessions, and the first tent I came to, after the one selling fried dough, was one selling decorative plates featuring Jesus holding an AR-15 or some such rifle (I don’t know one from another).

What an international smokescreen created or exploited to cover sexual abuse that had been ongoing for more than a year. You can bet it was common knowledge among many in the high school student body. People talk but who was listening and who was hushing it up?
