The Daily Beast reports that Trump will not stop fighting even after Congress declares Biden the 47th president on January 6. He will likely keep fighting after the Inauguration.
Trump is promoting demonstrations and protests in D.C. on January 6, hoping for disorders by his gun-toting, maskless cult. He dreams of a putsch.
Eleven Senators, led by Texas’ Ted Cruz, announced that they would not vote to certify the Electoral College vote unless there was an audit of the votes. This, despite the complete absence of any evidence of voter fraud in any state. Georgia counted its vote three times and it came out the same. Other states also recounted their votes. This statement is pure pandering to salve Trump’s fragile ego and to persuade him not to run a Trumpet against them. Senator John Thune of South Dakota has been heroic; Trump tweeted to try to encourage the governor of SD to run against Thune, but she declined. Thune dismissed the Trump tweets as “that’s the way he communicates.” Senator Lisa Murkowski said the only loyalty test she took was to uphold the Constitution. She will not join the seditious dozen.
The group is led by Senator Ted Cruz of Texas and also includes Senators Ron Johnson of Wisconsin, James Lankford of Oklahoma, Steve Daines of Montana, John Kennedy of Louisiana, Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee and Mike Braun of Indiana, and Senators-elect Cynthia Lummis of Wyoming, Roger Marshall of Kansas, Bill Hagerty of Tennessee and Tommy Tuberville of Alabama.
Missouri Josh Hawley set off the race to undermine the Constitution. He makes an even dozen. Their refusal to certify Biden’s election won’t change the results. But it will demonstrate that they care more about Trump than the Constitution or their oath of office.
Leonie Haimson tweeted this morning:
On a popular discussion site, a Trump supporter writes of Jan. 6 rally, “I’m thinking it will be literal war on that day…we’ll storm offices & physically remove & even kill all D.C. traitors & reclaim the country.” Hope @FBI is paying attention!
Why will Trump continue this farce? What’s in it for him?
First, he can continue to be the center of attention.
Second, he can spitefully undermine the legitimacy of Biden’s decisive win.
Third, he never has to admit that he lost, that he is a LOSER.
Fourth, he can continue to send out fund-raising appeals to his cult and pocketing the proceeds.
He should be arrested and charged with sedition and incitement to violence.
John Boehner’s thoughts on Ted Cruz……
“Lucifer in the flesh,” the former speaker said. “I have Democrat friends and Republican friends. I get along with almost everyone, but I have never worked with a more miserable son of a bitch in my life.”
I have run out of words for this Twit … luckily, there are emojis …
🦇💩🤪
The German word backpfeifengesicht–English translation: a face that’s badly in need of a fist.
I heard this word somewhere said about Ted Cruz.
Perfectemondo!
Trump said Cruz’s father helped assassinate JFK. He also said his wife was ugly. Never apologized.
What does it take to convince Trumpers they are backing the wrong person? As for Cruz, he isn’t worthy to be a Senator.
Trump verbally berated/abused Cruz (and his wife) often. I wonder what moral gaffe Trump holds on Cruz for him to keep this madness going?
That dump has “stuff” on everyone in his internal circle. I guess being “outed” by that treasonous liar is better than going to jail.
Trump doesn’t want to LEAVE the wh, because he knows he will be indicted and go to jail, and not even Putin would be able to save his fat, sorry behind.
Putin has no more use for trump and we all know what happens when Putin has “had enough” of someone…..ask Alexei Navalny. I think trump is wetting in his Depends knowing what the future holds for him.
@Leonie Haimson Agreed! “Hope FBI is paying attention!” Absolutely!
“On a popular discussion site, a Trump supporter writes of Jan. 6 rally, “I’m thinking it will be literal war on that day…we’ll storm offices & physically remove & even kill all D.C. traitors & reclaim the country.”
The writer flat announces his/her intentions.
What adds to the sickness of this is reading the Secret Service is changing dozens of agents out of the WH and presidential detail — especially the one(s) who helped the teargassing of the peaceful protest and Bible photo stunt.
There is a good book by a former top Secret Service agent that helps to explain how the Secret Service works in regards to presidential protection, or at least used to, but I imagine it is still quite similar. “Five Presidents” by Clint Hill. He served in the presidential detail from Eisenhower through Ford. He is the agent seen on the back of Kennedy’s motorcade limousine when Kennedy was shot. His specific job that day was to protect Jackie K as he was assigned to her and the family’s protection detail. While he couldn’t tell everything about the job it is an interesting read.
Once Trump is out of the White House and is no longer protected from being prosecuted for his crimes during his presidency because of an unconstitutional DOJ memo that has never been challenged in court, Trump may be arrested and charged with sedition, incitement to violence, and other crimes.

RE: The 1st Amendment and free speech. U.S. Supreme court’s rulings have clearly made it illegal to yell fire in a crowded theater or other places when there is no fire. Many of Trump’s lies as president were the same as yelling fire in a crowded theater but that DOJ memo was protecting him as president.
Which types of speech are not protected by the First Amendment?
Although different scholars view unprotected speech in different ways, there are basically nine categories:
“Some experts also would add treason, if committed verbally, to that list. Plagiarism of copyrighted material is also not protected.” ***

Good reads! Thanks for sharing them.
…and
Do these fools think they are going to inherit the president’s angry mobs and millionaire contributions?
The billionaire boys and evangelical base sold their souls and played this president like a fiddle. They’d have supported a cardboard cutout if it was loud and obnoxious enough to rally millions who despise the wealthy.
The out-state, red state, tax haters, anti-government, no-one-can-tell-me-what-to-do, stuck in the pre-Brown 50s… well, they are self-declared victims of everything from parking meter readers to regulations on anything (guns, drugs, coal, helmets (yes, in our state – helmets). And, they love to be loud. Somehow the president has claimed victim status and mad-as-hell rally leader and they love him (and see how many of them get invited to mara lago).
I don’t see this ‘base’ latching on to Cruz, Hawley, or the others – and may even turn on them.
Trump never got over being ridiculed by Obama in 2011.Whatever works is what he is willing to use……..he was not a full fledged racist…….but as soon as he discovered….hey! people love racism (a disturbing percentage of white males in particular) he shoveled out a lot of it. Pence should have been president before 2018…..not that he would have been very good. It will be interesting to see what Kamala does about him……she does not suffer idiocy gladly.
I hope the Attorney Generals of SDNY and Manhattan put this mentally deficient LOSER in prison.
If Trump steps down on the last day and gets Pence to pardon him, it is the SDNY I hope that can nail him for at least tax evasion and perhaps more.
« A site to discuss better education for all »
Well, a better education should lead you to understand that you can count 3 times the same votes and obtain the same results, even if a great part of these votes are illegal, from dead people or modified by a Dominion machine connected to the net and operated from abroad.
Thousands of testimonies made under oath, that means something (prison if proved lies).
Some hours may be sufficient to see the facts (I personnaly spent at least 2 hours per day since the 11/3 and I’m French). Instead of « complete absence of any evidence of voter fraud in any state », it seems more like « complete evidence of voter fraud in many states ». But corruption or blackmail is so important that some lawyers do not make their job of justice properly. With such a hacking of democracy, it’s no surprise that some people want to become violent. And many people do not want to have a team who, during 4 years, has showed they do not care about America, their only wish was to impeach Trump and that’s all… so we knew there would be election fraud even before it began. It’s just logical.
If right wing extremists try to overturn the election, what responsive course of action do you advise for the majority of American voters who cast ballots for Biden?
Good Grief!…..what color Kool Aid did you drink?
Oh, FD, that’s hilarious. You should take this comedy act on the road.
We just held the most secure election in US history. Every poll had poll watchers from both parties. The same machines and mail-in ballots reelected most of the Republican Senatorial candidates and increased the Republican presence in the House.
The machines and voting software were tested and approved by Republican governors.
The Department of Justice and the federal courts, including ones with Trump-appointed justices, have overwhelmingly ruled that there is no significant case for fraud in this election.
To believe this utter nonsense, you have to have fallen completely down the rabbit hole into crazy.
But all this goes to show that no matter how much evidence there is to the contrary, people can be found who will believe any nonsense if it is espoused by Glorious Leader Who Shines More Orange than Does the Sun.
Hey, I’ve got some great land in Florida if you are interested. And some on Mars, too. Oh, and do you need a Tarot card reading? How about some magic pads to put onto your feet to draw out toxins? And the Easter Bunny? Real.
Oh, and FD, 1 + 1 + 1 = 3. If you count it three times and get three different answers, you miscounted.
You didn’t understand. Counting 3 times illegal votes is not the problem. The problems are accepting illegal votes arriving too late or from dead voters, using Dominion machines connected to the net and operated from abroad, and having judges corrupted by blackmail (some for sexual affairs or money). You consider that everything was clear because checked by Republicans. You don’t undestand that a great part of Republicans are as corrupted as Democrats. You don’t understand that 90% of your media is owned by the same financial groups. Maybe you believe that one single bullet, shot by a non professional sniper, changed direction 7 times to explain multiple impacts on JFK and another one in the car. Maybe you believe that there were massive destruction weapons in Irak, or that Saddam Hussein had something to do with Bin Laden. Maybe you think that photos with Bill Clinton and his friend Ghislaine Maxwell are a deep fake. Maybe you think that George Soros is Santa Klaus. Maybe you think America shall rule all over the world to bring us Mickey and take petrol evrywhere. Maybe you don’t see that antifas behave just like fascists. Maybe you don’t know the semantic inversion of reality as explained in the « 1984 » novel. Maybe you will believe these things a long time. But light always overcomes darkness, even if it takes time. We’ll see. All this is information wars. I have my sources, you have yours. Link the dots.
FD,
You are misinformed. All these issues were brought before state and federal courts. Every one of them was rejected by the courts including by judges appointed by Trump. Do not believe or spread lies unless you are a nut.
FD,
This blog has a few rules. One of them is no conspiracy theories. You are not welcome to post your insane theories here. Go to a QAnon site. Or Breitbart. Or Facebook.
You have been linking the dots, certainly. LOL. I suppose the you also see Jesus on your toast. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pareidolia
But you have some things exactly right:
90% of media is owned by a few oligarchs.
The official story of the JFK assassination is laughable.
The only weapons of mass destruction found in Iraq, according to CIA Director George Tenet, was a warehouse full of chemical weapons supplied to Hussein by the United States, or so Tenet says in his autobiography.
Clinton and Maxwell, yup. And a whole host of others. The FBI has raided all of Epstein’s former residences, and the Manhattan townhouse had an entire secret media room with recording equipment hooked to videocameras all over the place. None of the evidence found in these places has been revealed because it would implicate a lot of very powerful people, including leaders of both political parties.
And my old pal George Orwell just got his dates off by a few years.
FD
Fox retracted the false claims made against Dominion. Dominion made public its intent to sue those telling detrimental lies that harm the firm.
I just put FD into permanent moderation. No recycling of lies.
Thank you!!!!
The Man with No Plan and the Tan in the Can won’t have access to his orange clown makeup in prison, so there’s no worry that the orange jump suit will be too matchy-matchy.
Well, helloo, FD (w/no R).
Do you think people in KY should be violent about the “re-election” of itch? Some veeerrrry “funny” #s are coming up & are being looked at by election protection watchdogs (last in name only–not attack-types).
Wow, & I’m so surprised that everyone who voted for Gore in 2000
took it on the chin (or, in this case, hanging chad), & did not choose violence.
Just who & what are you?!
“And many people do not want to have a team who, during 4 years, has showed they do not care about America, their only wish was to impeach Trump and that’s all..”
I’m sure you know that it is the Democrats who wanted to have Americans get a stimulus payment of $2,000 but McConnell and the GOP Senate didn’t.
People are being paid a minimum wage of $7.25 in my state, which is also a “right to work” for nothing state. Our GOP controlled state makes people who receive Medicaid make monthly payments into a medical savings account. When you are this poor, you do not have money to put into a savings account.
Now the U.S. is saddled with many judges that even the American Bar Association says are incompetent.
If you’d been reading this blog longer, you’d know that the vast majority of commenters are concerned about Trump’s determination to spread hatred, fear and chaos. He managed to appoint people in his administration who were determined to destroy their departments. Give one good reason that the EPA is headed by a former coal lobbyist. Why was Betsy DeVos appointed Secretary of Education when she has no knowledge of education and does nothing to help public schools? Her secret service guarding costs taxpayers a million $$ a month because she is so widely hated.
Trump continues to have many women tell about how he sexually abused them. Can you imagine the GOP outcry over this is Obama had the same loose morals? He likes looking at nude women. Is this acceptable behavior for a president? He was dating Melania when he was married. Guess that’s okay for you but in my book, he is once agains showing he doesn’t care for marriage. His wife was getting too old and he needed a younger model.
[Criticizing Trump is showing that many people care about Americans in addition to wanting him impeached and kicked out of the WH.]
Why did Trump not care about the COVID virus when it would’ve been easier to contain it and prevent the killings of hundreds of thousands of people? We are outraged that he still doesn’t tell people they need to wear a mask. In just three years in office, has appointed more ex-lobbyists to cabinet-level positions than both Barack Obama and George W. Bush did during their two terms in the Oval office. These lobbyist appointees are NOT helping ordinary people.
December 2, 2020 – The Trump administration helped wealthy companies benefit from the Treasury Department’s coronavirus emergency fund that was intended for small businesses. More than half of the $522 billion for small businesses went to larger companies.
December 7, 2020 – James Phillips, an attending physician who criticized Trump for going on a drive-by with Secret Service agents — while the president had COVID-19 — was removed from the schedule of Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.
December 11, 2020 – A lawsuit suit filed in the Supreme Court argued on behalf of Trump that the election was “riddled with an unprecedented number of serious allegations of fraud and irregularities.” The court, however, rejected the suit in a terse, unsigned order. Despite the ruling from the highest court in the land, Rudy Giuliani, Trump’s personal lawyer, said his team would still pursue further legal action. Giuliani has ruined his reputation and should be disbarred.
June, 2016 – Cassandra Searles, Miss Washington 2013, accused Donald Trump of sexual misconduct at the Miss USA pageant. Searles posted a photo of contestants with Trump on Facebook, saying, “One guy treated us like cattle,” and “proceeded to have us lined up so he could get a closer look at his property.”
October 12, 2016 – Mariah Billado, a former Miss Teen USA contestant, claimed that Donald Trump behaved inappropriately during the pageant. Billado said that in 1997 Trump walked into the changing room when contestants were not fully clothed. She is one of four former Miss Teen U.S.A. contestants to tell the same story of Trump’s sexual misconduct.
January 20, 2017 – Before his election, Donald Trump had promised to entrust management of his companies to his children. But on the day Trump took office as president, state officials still had not received paperwork demonstrating that Trump had relinquished ownership in his companies. In order to transfer his ownership stake, Trump would have needed to file documents with state offices in Florida, Delaware, and New York—the states where his holdings reside. State officials from all three states confirmed with ProPublica that they had not received the necessary documentation when Trump took office.
January 20, 2017 – Within hours of his inauguration, Donald Trump took aim at the Affordable Care Act in his first executive order as president. Following up on his campaign’s recurring promise to dismantle Obamacare, the order weakened the program by allowing states to “waive, defer, grant exemptions from or delay implementation of any provision or requirement” that would place a “fiscal burden” on the state. [Surely taking medical care away from millions of people was proof of how much Trump loved ordinary people. The GOP has tried repeatedly to dismantle ACA with NO replacement.]
If you Google ‘A catalog of Trump’s worst cruelties, collusions, corruption…the list goes on and on. He has lied over 23, 000 times since being elected and we are supposed to respect him? Trump is a pathological liar who works to get money for himself doesn’t care one twit for ordinary people.
Thank you for this reply. I will read the different facts with more time tonight. I don’t think, and I didn’t say, that Trump was perfect or even a good man. It’s the potential fraud that annoys me, as it could be repeated for further elections, and maybe some kind of fraud has helped also Macron to become president and destroy France, which he is clearly doing.
Sexual abuse seems to concern Trump but also Hunter Biden, and it seems Bill Clinton was among Epstein’s customers also. It’s also the case with some lawyers, which is a means of pressure. But I don’t say that I believe all that was said about the so called « pizza gate ».
In France, at least, since 1975 we have forbidden mailing votes, we want the voter to be there. Jimmy Carter, who was a Democrat, said that mailing votes is a great way for fraud. If there is no fraud in your last election, then why are the chief judge of federal Supreme Court and other lawyers making everything to block verifications ? Corruption and blackmail I think. There is a Roberts in Epstein’s listings. Also, he said he was afraid of riots. I hope you know that BLM and antifas are supported by George Soros. Trump is not perfect (at all), but at least he’s not a mondialist.
I will read all the facts you say. I prefer bad than worse, and I will see if Trump is just bad, of if he is worse. Biden and Obama are corrupted also. In France, freedom of speech is under attack. We have to admit that Biden is good and Trump is bad. But I see many people, even some néo -hippies, « New Age style », that support Trump. I am not a real Christian, but I appreciate when Christian people are afraid of the mondialists that seem to want to destroy nations. Trump’s foreign policy seems to have been far better than Obama’s policy. It’s better to talk with North Korea, it’s better to try to have peace agreements between Arabians and Jews, it’s better not to attack countries for false reasons, massive destruction weapons that don’t exist, and so on. America for America, France for France, it seems good to me. I hate Macron.
FD,
I don’t post the mad musings of conspiracy theorists here. What you say about Chief Justice Roberts, George Soros, and others comes from the fringes of extremist fascist groups. I don’t know where you get this nonsense, but it has no relationship to facts. There was no fraud in the election. Chris Krebs, who was in charge of cyber security for the Trump administration, said it was the most honest and secure election in our history. Trump fired him. Trump’s sycophant Attorney General Bill Barr said there was no fraud, not enough to change the outcome. He resigned.
My advice to you: go post on some nutty rightwing site, not here.
Notice that this is listed, “…how far the new president can reach legislatively on issues such as the pandemic, health care, taxation, energy and the environment.”
BIden will help people, not just the wealthy. He may not be perfect but he is leaps ahead of Trump who worked to destroy current laws and to enrich himself.

Biden meets early defining moment
ATLANTA — Usually it’s a president’s first midterm election that reorders a White House’s political approach and priorities. For President-elect Joe Biden, his most defining congressional election is coming before he takes office.
Two runoffs Tuesday in Georgia will decide which party controls the Senate and, thus, how far the new president can reach legislatively on issues such as the pandemic, health care, taxation, energy and the environment. For a politician who sold himself to Americans as a uniter and a seasoned legislative broker, the Georgia elections will help determine whether he’s able to live up to his billing.
“It’s not that you can’t get anything done in the minority or get everything done in the majority, but having the gavel, having that leadership control can be the difference in success or failure for an administration,” said Jim Manley, once a top aide to former Democratic Senate Leader Harry Reid of Nevada.
Both Georgia Democrats Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock must win Tuesday to split the Senate 50-50. Vice President-elect Kamala Harris, as president of the Senate, would provide the tiebreaker needed to determine control.
Even a closely divided Democratic Senate wouldn’t give Biden everything he wants. Senate rules still require 60 votes to advance most major legislation; for now, there aren’t enough Democrats willing to change that requirement. So, regardless of Georgia’s results, Biden will have to win over Republicans in a Senate where a bipartisan group of more centrist senators stand to see their stock rise.
A Democratic Senate still would clear an easier path for Biden’s nominees to key posts, especially on the federal judiciary, and give Democrats control of committees and much of the floor action. Conversely, a Senate led by Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky almost certainly would deny Biden major legislative victories, as it did late in President Barack Obama’s tenure, by keeping his agenda from even getting up-or-down votes…

Here is another example of how much the GOP cares about America. Notice that Democrats have been working to help Americans. OMG… imagine caring as well as wanting Trump to be kicked out of the WH‼️
………………………
The Hill:
The federal minimum wage has been stuck at $7.25 since 2009. In recent years, the goal of a $15 minimum wage has become a standard progressive policy.
House Democrats in July 2019 passed a bill that would gradually increase the federal minimum wage to $15 gradually through 2025, but the measure died in the GOP-controlled Senate.
Reblogged this on dean ramser.
“that he is a LOSER.”
My favorite dig point when interacting with the tRump cultistas. “I tell ’em: Get over it. He lost. He’s the bigliest loser ever in a presidential election. Move on!” Needless to say the cultistas never cede that point, even when I directly ask them “Did Trump lose the election?” They can’t bring themselves to answer in the affirmative. Delusional is putting it mildly.
Traitors. Those Senators who have signed onto this have betrayed their country. It is obscene for them to continue in office.
Add 126 Representatives.
And Cruz did this after Trump the Crude made horrific comments about Cruz’s wife and accused Cruz’s father of being part of the conspiracy to kill John F. Kennedy. Cruz clearly has no moral compass whatsoever. He has betrayed his wife and his country.
A portrait of a president: https://bobshepherdonline.wordpress.com/2019/05/09/donnie-baby/
This is what treason looks like, folks. Parler and other right-wing media are teeming with calls for armed insurrection against the government. For civil war.
Putin certainly got his money’s worth when he invested so heavily in Jabba the Trump.
That would be the Mercer family (mainly Rebekah) and Steve Bannon. I live close to DC and I’m not looking forward to these crazies driving their big trucks and flying their big flags while prowling the highways at great speed. It gets really scary around here when the protests start.
Be safe, Lisa!
Dear Mr. President:
If you ever did any reading and knew any history (no, the Continental Army didn’t secure the airports, and Frederick Douglass isn’t around today “doing a great job”), you would know that the Dummies’ Guide to Becoming an Autocratic President for Life requires that you get all instruments of state violence (the military, the intelligence services, the police, the courts) entirely on your side and completely willing to betray their country before you can pull off what you are trying to pull off. Sorry.
Go to jail. Go directly to jail. Do not pass Go.
If McConnell wanted GOP senators to fall in line, he would make it happen like he has on other important votes.
My view- America is the collateral damage from Charles Koch’s plan to destroy democracy. McConnell will follow an order to ignore sedition, limiting his response to obligatory lip service in support of democracy.
Off topic, reported today- a GOP state rep. from Pa. died- possible cause- Covid.
His family shouldn’t worry, as Trump said, Nobody gets Covid.”
He may have had Covid in early Dec (?) but he died of a brain aneurysm….maybe a complication of Covid?
You are both right

Pence, the lame-brained chicken, is afraid that Trump will get mad at him when he ceremoniously confirms Biden as the next president.
…………………………………
Pence Welcomes Futile Bid by G.O.P. Lawmakers to Overturn Election
Vice President Mike Pence signaled his support as 11 Republican senators and senators-elect said that they would vote to reject President-elect Joseph R. Biden Jr.’s victory.
WASHINGTON — Vice President Mike Pence signaled support on Saturday for a futile Republican bid to overturn the election in Congress next week, after 11 Republican senators and senators-elect said that they would vote to reject President-elect Joseph R. Biden Jr.’s victory when the House and Senate meet to formally certify it.
The announcement by the senators — and Mr. Pence’s move to endorse it — reflected a groundswell among Republicans to defy the unambiguous results of the election and indulge President Trump’s attempts to remain in power with false claims of voting fraud.
Every state in the country has certified the election results after verifying their accuracy, many following postelection audits or hand counts. Judges across the country, and a Supreme Court with a conservative majority, have rejected nearly 60 attempts by Mr. Trump and his allies to challenge the results.
And neither Mr. Pence nor any of the senators who said they would vote to invalidate the election has made a specific allegation of fraud, instead offering vague suggestions that some wrongdoing might have occurred and asserting that many of their supporters believe that it has….
Calling it spite or center of attention distracts from the real political and policy intent to make democraticly elected government ungovernable so people seek a strongman.
Trump is doing what Putin has tried to do for years: discredit democracy.
How can anyone justify these facts? Trump contributed to the number of infected by showing no leadership during a pandemic. His followers who hold positions of power are no better than he is.
…………………….
Chicago Tribune:
The COVID-19 death toll in the United States has surpassed 350,000 as experts anticipate another surge in coronavirus cases and deaths stemming from holiday gatherings over Christmas and New Year’s.
Data compiled by Johns Hopkins University shows the U.S. passed the threshold early Sunday morning. More than 20 million people in the country have been infected.
Trump needs to be removed from office immediately. He is the one who incited this riot and that makes him unfit to continue as President.
.
The Republican governor-of Vermont called for Trump to resign. Won’t happen. Will he be dragged out of White House on Jan 20
I don’t see the good of that.
If he resigns, Pence will pardon him.
Been There, Done That.
