This is one of those days when almost everyone is on edge. Today is an incredibly important election, certainly the most important in my lifetime. I have voted in every Presidential election since 1960. This one matters most, because the future of our democracy, our environment, our public schools, our domestic tranquility, is on the ballot.
haaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!
My 16 yo son came into my room last night and asked me what to expect for election day/night and when we will know who the President will be. The kids on social media are discussing the civil unrest and the possibility of armed people walking around on the streets today. They are discussing the boarded up businesses in DC and other large cities in preparation for civil unrest. They are talking about the fence that’s erected at the WH. They are afraid that they will need to quit school to fight in a civil war that Trump’s base will incite win or lose. This is what they will remember of their youth….being scared of terrorists living among them in their own country.
I first cast a vote in 1960 for Kennedy.
I have voted in every election since then.
I canno remember any election in which stores across the nation boarded up their windows for fear of violence.
This is Trump’s legacy: violence, anarchy, lawlessness, armed gangs,”American carnage.”
Just gimme a box of pastries form Arthur Avenue in the Bronx.
I needed that laugh. I think I’m gonna have Freakazoid episodes on all day to get away from the news now… in between taking my own dogs out.
