Despite the Constitution and it’s clear limit of two terms for the President, Trump has dropped many hints that he wants to stay longer, like his friends Putin and Kim.
Trump says he’ll ‘negotiate’ for a third term in office
At a campaign rally in Minden, Nev., on Saturday night, Trump revived the idea of serving more than two terms in office, telling supporters that he’s “entitled” to more time as president because of the way he has been treated over the past four years.

At a campaign rally in Minden, Nev., on Saturday night, Trump revived the idea of serving more than two terms in office, telling supporters that he’s “entitled” to more time as president because of the way he has been treated over the past four years.
“Fifty-two days from now, we’re going to win Nevada, and we’re going to win four more years in the White House,” Trump said to cheers from the crowd at the Minden-Tahoe Airport. “And then, after that, we’ll negotiate, right? Because we’re probably — based on the way we were treated — we’re probably entitled to another four after that.”
The 22nd Amendment of the U.S. Constitution limits the presidency to two terms. Even so, Trump has repeatedly floated the notion of staying in office for more than eight years.
In April 2019, he told a crowd at an event for the Wounded Warrior Project that he might remain in the Oval Office “at least for 10 or 14 years.”
In June last year, he suggested in a tweet that his supporters might “demand that I stay longer.”
And in a 2018 speech to Republican donors at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, Trump joked about doing away with term limits and praised Chinese President Xi Jinping for doing so.
“He’s now president for life. President for life. No, he’s great,” Trump said, according to CNN. “And look, he was able to do that. I think it’s great. Maybe we’ll have to give that a shot someday.”
Some Democrats on Sunday criticized Trump for his comments at the Nevada rally.
“Democracy is not up for negotiation,” Rep. Mark Pocan (D-Wis.) said in a tweet.
Trump fancies himself the “law and order president;” and yet he breaks laws at will, and encourages his followers to do the same. CBK
Is there any doubt that he is saying these things to enrage the people who are against him? The more angry they are, the more likely it will be that they produce some violence he can use for a pretext to subvert the constitution
Just appalling, outrageous and jaw-dropping, even after almost 4 years of this monster with his daily hyperventilating and bloviating. I should be used to his idiot level bombast because what else would you expect from a gangster like Trump. But I’m not used to it, I think I have Trump PTSD.
We are going to have to get very, very tough psychologically, because we’re on the verge of a full-on Nazi takeover. Trump is whipping his followers into a state of mass psychosis as Hitler did. These people will be brutal and crazed once the remaining restraints on them are taken off. BLM is driving the police into Trump’s camp. The police won’t protect liberals anymore. How many BLM protesters have the knowledge to force what Trump portends? How many see the parallels to Weimar Germany or Chile in 1973? How many see that George Floyd could be just the tip of the iceberg of state-sponsored violence awaiting us once exasperated voters hand Trump dictator powers? Job #1 of schools should have been vaccinating minds against new Hitlers and Stalins by teaching the causes of dictatorships, their HORRORS, and a deep appreciation of democracy. Instead they’ve done nothing but teach fake reading skills and math and “critical thinking” and, where possible, naked PC propaganda that foments polarization. This mass psychosis is the fruit of today’s snake oil curriculum (among other causes). But teachers aren’t even close to examining themselves. It seems the whole republic will have to burn down before they realize they have failed in their duty to shape minds properly.
“Forsee” not “force”
Given that Trump’s most rabid supporters are middle aged and older and were educated in schools 40 or 50 ago, I’m not sure what your point is. That schools in the 1950s and 1970s and 1980s were just as awful as they are now?
The youngest Americans seem to be the ones who can see through Trump easiest. At worst, they think both parties are bad, but they are certainly not the rabid Trump supporters who adore him who are middle aged and older.
Ponderosa,
I wrote the 1988 California History-Ocial Science standards. They included the horrors of Stalin and Hitler. And the importance of democracy and rights.
NYC and Diane:
I think the question we should ask is, has the average HS graduate had much of this knowledge in his or her head –nowadays and in the past? My guess is the answer is “no”. That would mean that the CA standards, while in step in the right direction, are not sufficient, and it would mean American schools in general have been failing at this task for years. I think it’s entirely possible that one course in one year of school is not nearly enough. It may require, as the Germans are doing, intensive teaching every year for many years if we want it to stick. Do we know how much is required? If not, why not? Isn’t this an important question? Should we be issuing HS diplomas to students who lack this knowledge?
Ponderosa, you should try to find a copy of the K-12 California History Social Science Standards. They were everything you talk about. Not one year. K-12. They lasted a long time. At the time I worked on them, I was in the E.D. Hirsch camp of knowledge first. Teachers liked them. Did they make a difference? I don’t know.
Diane,
As I’ve said many times before, I’ve been teaching those standards (in 7th grade) for 17 years. I love them, and they’re probably better than many other states’. I appreciate your work on them, and am saddened that they’re being undermined by NCLB/ESSA’s myopic focus on ELA and math, and the 2016 frameworks that encourage teachers to put “inquiry” over coverage. Maybe these enlightened standards have contributed to the widespread leeriness of Trump among Californians. But I think it’s a possibility that they may be too cursory on certain topics if our objective is to create ardent defenders of our democratic republic and haters of dictatorship. I don’t think anyone really knows, and that’s not good. Perhaps we should have a HS exit examination along the lines of NAEP (not high stakes for anyone) that would assay the level of graduates’ knowledge in these areas.
“BLM is driving the police into Trump’s camp.”
That’s a flat out racist statement.
“But teachers aren’t even close to examining themselves.”
Teacher, examine thyself.
Greg, please point me to the teachers who are asking, “What have we done wrong?” I haven’t met them, but maybe they’re out there. (Hey, and thanks for implying I’m a racist for making an empirical observation!)
Wasn’t implying, it was a declarative statement.
“The Emancipation Proclamation is driving the formation of the Ku Klux Klan.” Compare and contrast with the statement quoted above.
Your “infallible” condescension of teachers about they what they do or don’t know, or do or don’t teach is definitely projection at its best.
…do or don’t teach…
Did not foresee that typo.
ponderosa,
Today’s young people can largely see through Trump’s lies but a whole lot of middle aged and older white folks educated in American schools in the 1950s and 60s and 70s are more than willing to throw democracy under the bus.
I don’t support Common Core, but I could certainly make a much stronger argument than yours that young people today can tell the difference between fact and fiction that their elders were not taught how to do in their 1950s and 1960s and 1970s schools.
How do you explain why young people aren’t taken in by the lies of Trump that too many of their American high school elders who went to high school in the supposed golden age you think existed many, many decades ago?
If anything gives credibility to the education that young people are getting, it is that they know how to think! It’s too bad seeing all those old white folks educated at American high schools many decades ago standing in line without their masks to cheer on the man they trust implicitly even when he says things that lead to 200,000 people dying.
NYC:
Do you think it’s important that all US HS grads have a clear idea of the horrors of dictatorship? Do you think it’s the duty of schools to impart this? I do. Do you think most graduates in 1975 got this? Today’s grads? I suspect our schools have not done a good job at this for a long time. AP students probably get this, but I’m not sure about the others. I had a 9th grade course on the Soviet Union that instilled loathing of Pravda and the Gulag. This was followed up, in 11th grade, with 1984 and Animal Farm. I learned about Pinochet’s coup in freshman year of college. I’ve read a lot in magazines like the New Republic and NYRB since then, as well as Milan Kundera novels, more Orwell, Darkness at Noon –all reinforcing a horror of dictatorship. What’s the minimum necessary to instill this horror? It’s hard to fear Trump’s dictatorial tendencies if, A. you don’t recognize dictatorial tendencies, and B. you don’t understand why dictatorship is so bad. I’m heartened that young people are less keen on Trump than their elders. Is this because they’re getting better teaching on dictatorship or despite their failure to get this? I am grateful for whatever it is that’s inclining them against Trump. Is it curriculum? The ambient culture? I’m curious to know what it is. Shouldn’t all teachers be curious about this?
ponderosa: I went to Boise Public schools in the 50’s and 60’s. I remember studying American history through the Civil War twice.
My memory could be off, but I don’t recall anything about world history [other than the discovery of America], history of religions, geography of the world or anything about dictators or even the holocaust.
This may be why Idaho is a red state. We weren’t taught about the horrors of bad leadership nor anything about other countries. When I went to college at Washington State in Pullman, WA, I studied history of the Pacific Northwest.
I took a class in history of black discrimination at Roosevelt University in Chicago, after I’d moved to Illinois.
I learned a lot through my having worked overseas in both South-east Asia and S. America and through a lot of travel.
I hadn’t been taught about the American corporations that destroyed central America and the American interference in politics of other countries, even the killing of leaders that were dutifully elected by their people.
People simply don’t realize our history isn’t the perfect ‘America the Beautiful’ that was taught in the fifth grade. Many are stuck in that haze of glory. Let’s bring back the glory that never existed except through lack of knowledge.
This is an interesting thread and, as I reminisce and ponder if I did the right thing in leaving teaching, I realize I probably did if these comments reflect what teaching “should” be. I was spoiled and fortunate for a short time to have a headmaster who, although he had strong opinions, most of which I disagreed with, was strong and secure enough to hire teachers precisely because of these disagreements. He realized that there was no one way of teaching, that a great school had to have a mix of opinions, experience, age and heritages from which to draw a diverse, interesting faculty.
The idea of standards–even though in later years I helped promote them in civic education–was anathema to him and the teachers he hired. He wanted them to be ground in passion and an incongruous mixture of certainty and flawed optimism. The notion that there was a set, approved way of thinking, of teaching, was discouraged. He wanted teachers to recreate their classes every year, not fall into ruts of repetitiveness. Teachers should learn and explore with their classes.
When I read that a teacher “loves standards” it scares me and makes me feel pity for their students. It’s like loving a textbook, which is equally as repugnant to me. Just as teaching students to “loathe” something. That’s indoctrination, not teaching. If one teaches history, the full range of views, then students will learn how to discern for themselves what to think for themselves. A good teacher doesn’t indoctrinate students to loathe or love, a good teacher presents the various viewpoints and hopes that the students will perceive and recognize for themselves.
When a teacher says they MUST learn this or that, they do not understand that there are a variety of ways–most unknown to them–to learn the same lessons. One author, one viewpoint, one perspective does not explain.
And when a teacher–and American teacher–does not fundamentally understand the meaning of the first amendment; that the freedoms of speech, religion, press, and most importantly in today’s world, of assembly and petitioning government and what implications these right have and embody, that teacher engages in selfish sophistry, not education.
Constitution, schmonstitution: Idiotism distilled to one of its seminal elements.
I agree that Trump deserves a life term
in prison.
I want to see trump in handcuffs behind bars.
Not just any prison. I want him to serve a life sentence on Riker’s Island where New Yorkers will make sure he will get the treatment he has earned.

Bob Shepherd : My cleaning lady comes today. Fortunately, I rechecked the money that I give her.
I don’t know WHERE I picked it up, but included in her payment was a 2020 note with Trump’s photo on it. “TRUMP 2020”.
She also hates Trump. Somehow that got into my wallet. AHHHH. OMG, I might even have tried to use it at a store!!!

You get the picture
Bob apparently, he and his crooked cronies are also absconding with their own campaign funds . . . any money they can get their hands on. CBK
Bob,
Yes. Thanks for being specific.
trump belongs behind bars.
Bob Trump even thinks he can control scientific facts like he controls his enablers in Congress. CBK
“I will always protect Americans,” said Trump at the Trump Lovefest and Repugnican Convention 2020.
And then he holds these superspreader events. Isn’t knowingly causing disease and death illegal? Add that to the long list of crimes.
He’s already behind Barrs (or at least one Barr)
And that hasn’t helped.
This just in from the New York Times:
“BREAKING NEWS
“A top Trump health aide, without evidence, accused government scientists of “sedition.” He also warned of a left-wing revolt after the election.
“Monday, September 14, 2020 1:18 PM EST
“Michael Caputo, the assistant secretary of public affairs at the Department of Health and Human Services, also said without evidence that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention was harboring a ‘resistance unit’ determined to undermine President Trump.”
The assumption at work here is that TRUMP IS the TRUTH and the LAW; hence, everyone who goes against Trump is by definition seditious.
Trump, however, is a phony user, seditious, and nothing less than TREASONOUS. NO one should pull their punches on that any more. CBK
In a fascist state, opposing the Glorious Leader is sedition. That’s how they roll.
Caputo and Kellyanne Conway aided in Pence’s selection as VP.
Caputo was Carl Paladino’s campaign manager. And, Caputo was Steve Bannon’s ally. A Caputo quote, “Carl’s position on gay marriage is exactly equivalent to the Catholic Church…”. Paladino backtracked on his comments but, I don’t know about Caputo.
Trump ranted for more than an hour and a half at the Nevada rally. His rants were all over the map, including a rehash of Hillary Clinton’s lost emails, and the now usual attacks on the media. He is relentless in associating Biden and Democrats with being the enemy and worthy of fear. He is still a performance artist and loves to weave in little stories and attempts at comedy from his Apprentice days, even clapping for himself to make sure the audience is part of his spectacle and appreciates him as entertainer-in-chief.

He’s nuts.
I couldn’t even read this whole thing. It is SO rotten. He is worse than a sleese-bag. He’s a rotten nut case. He’s working up his base to get violent if he doesn’t win.
25% fraudulent ballots…with no evidence but his demented gut.
……………..
Donald Trump: (08:14)
No, but seriously. And now he’s in charge of the election and the millions of ballots. So if I’m up like millions of votes, he can rig the election, he can rig the election. And I’ll tell you what, whether it’s in North Carolina, whether it’s in Michigan, whether it’s in other states where they’re sending out, they’re going to be sending out 80 million ballots. And it’s Democrats. They’re trying to rig this election, at every single place in the last year, year and a half, go modern day, forget about… Tiny amounts, a congressional race in New York, a small number of votes. If you go to New Jersey, if you go to Virginia, if you go to Pennsylvania, if you go to California, look at some of these races, every one of these races was a fraud, missing ballots. And I don’t mean like 1%. I mean like 20%, 25%, they’re trying to rig the election.
“Progressive Kristallnacht against the 1%” -that fear is driving some of the tyrants who back Trump.
TPM describes Peter Thiel (Palantir) as part of “a rising tide of neo-authoritarian thought in the tech world which argues that democracy has failed and must be replaced. Thiel said women voting in a capitalistic society was an oxymoron. And, media reported that Thiel met with a person associated with a white nationalist fringe group before Trump’s election.
Thiel and Gates both zealously guard the money they take from the marketplace and their exploitive tax advantages.
No American election has been more important than 2020’s.
Charles Harder, graduate of Loyola, represented Donald and Melania in many of their lawsuits. He also handled the case against Gawker which media linked to Thiel.
Peter Thiel, Robert P. George and Victor Claar, a team member at the Acton Institute, were speakers at the Intercollegiate Studies Initiative.
Intercollegiate has 16 board members, apparently all white (includes 2 women, at least one of whom backs Trump, Linda Bean of L. L. Bean).
The 8 employees listed on the Intiative’s 990 are all male. The photo array of “team members” appear to show all white faces
Enabling students to not “feel isolated or attacked for questioning progressive orthodoxy” costs the taxpayers.
My view- tax avoidance aimed at fostering privilege instead of “individual responsibility” is wrong.
Peter Thiel was on the board of Facebook when employees of his company Palantir were “helping” Cambridge Analytica, which just coincidentally received “stolen” Facebook data!
And there are still people who are upset because Biden may only push to lower the age for Medicare to 60 and expand the ACA to have a public option instead of “Medicare for All”. And they don’t really care if Trump wins because of that.
I doubt the final paragraph is true. But, the first paragraph is interesting.
I think you might be getting ahead of yourself here, President Biff.
America’s future under GOP leadership, “people dying like feral dogs in the gutter”.
Today’s report- After a history of speeding and other traffic violations, S.D.’s Republican Attorney General was driving when he hit and killed a person. It was reported as a car-deer incident. The timing of the report was not given. The crash occurred at 10:30 p.m. The body was found the next morning.
S.D. is Gov. Noem’s state where mask wearing is an affront to GOP “liberty”.
“South Dakota 1 of 3 states suing to block Equal Rights Amendment” -2019. Not surprising given the fact that Gov. Noem and Atty General Ravsborg are against women’s reproductive rights and share the same faith. Both political positions please the state Catholic Conferences.
Theocracy
The US is officially a republic, where majority rules, but minorites (not always racial) have rights. Even CPS taught me this. 😮
Any political party can steal elections. Surely, the Chicago Democratic Machine has. CDM was accused of that, with JFK in 1960. 😮
Illinois had 27 electoral votes in 1960 and JFK did not need those 27 votes to win, so that was a historically inaccurate example since those votes in Illinois were meaningless. Plus, JFK also won the popular vote nationwide so clearly more Americans voters wanted JFK, who you now have to admit would have won without Illinois.
But Eddie, you should have given the example of the 2000 election, when one state led by one of the candidate’s brothers was so close that a clear recount of all the votes was a no-brainer except for those who valued winning over democracy.
And of course, that was Florida and the people who stole the election were the Republicans who were so desperate to stop a proper counting of the votes that they got the Republican-appointed Supreme Court Justices to declare that a proper recount of votes was hereby “illegal” because the Republican had the most votes so counting must stop. (Ironically, had Gore won on the first counting under the same questionable circumstances, ALL the Supreme Court Justices would have demanded a proper recount, since Democratic Justices believed in democracy and not just “winning”.)
Unlike your very poor example of Illinois — a state JFK didn’t need to win — the Republicans desperately needed Florida to win, and it was especially egregious since the Republicans had already lost the popular vote by a huge margin and knew they needed to stop a proper counting of all votes to win.
NYC, all of us know about 2000 and Florida. 🤔
I said CDM was accused of stealing. I never said they did.
NYC psp, THANK YOU! Excellent response to eddie who obviously has some kind of phony agenda. In Florida (2,000) the GOP used the Brooks Brothers mob/rioters to raise a ruckus and stop the recount.
The GOP is very good at voter suppression, especially of minorities.
Yes, the GOP is good at voter suppression. So let’s find a good way to stop them. 🤔
When it comes to elections, most or none of us are there. We don’t really know who is tampering with machines and ballots. 😮
Eddie,
If you really believed that you would be demanding paper ballots, which is a no brainer.
However, most people in Russia do know that elections in Russia are not to be trusted and that America’s biggest fan of the corrupt leader of Russia would like to have a similar type of election.
You and I both agree that Putin’s Russia is terrible and I assume we both believe that any President who trust Putin more than America is probably a traitor.
Thanks for pointing out how no one should trust any president who believes a Putin-style election is the only election that would be perfect because Americans should never be trusted. I agree with your innuendo that Trump’s love of Putin is really dangerous and that Putin type “democracy” is not good.
Unless you love Putin — feel free to rabidly defend Putin right now so we can all understand where your loyalties lie.
NYC, I’m talking about any election. I never supported Putin and Trump. 🤔😮
And paper ballots aren’t fool proof either.
Joe Jersey, I have no agenda. Being a Black Man in America, I can question elections. I never supported Trump and Putin. And I voted Democrat in 2016. 😮
Eddie,
I didn’t ask whether you “supported” Trump or Putin.
I asked whether you would acknowledge that Putin runs fraudulent elections and Trump and the Republicans see no problem with fraudulent elections as long as they win.
Will you? If not, your loyalties are clear.
People who actually love democracy would crawl through glass to vote for Biden to defeat Trump. Whether they are progressives or conservatives. It is the reason that Cornell West, AOC, Bernie and others on the left agree with Lincoln Project Republicans on one thing — that Trump must be defeated to save democracy.
Those who don’t think democracy is worth saving are good with Trump winning.
Yes, I denounce Putin for fraudulent elections and government. Yes, I denounce Trump winning with Putin, Republicans and any other way possible.
And I acknowledge the fraud and don’t support it. I never had any interest in Trump whatsoever. 🤔😐
Then I’m glad you are voting for Biden! Thank you.
You’re welcome! 🤓
It’s long past time to understand that the voters who attend Trump rallies or those who are still considering voting for Trump would never have voted for anyone but Trump – whether it was Bernie or Biden. The reason Trump keeps referring to “socialism” and “Marxists” is because he knows that people are still afraid of socialists. Trump knew Biden had the best chance to defeat him in 2020, which is why Trump’s efforts were always about gathering false dirt on Biden for years. Trump’s only chances of winning have always been to demonize his opponent — in fact, that has been exactly the successful Republican playbook for years to get voters to vote against their self-interest because at least they are “protected” from the “dangerous” democrat.
The democrats need to concentrate on getting out the vote and making sure that voters who clearly don’t want Trump to win are not disenfranchised.
Anyone who is still considering voting for Trump is a waste of time. What isn’t a waste of time is convincing people who despise Trump that voting for Biden – as Cornel West, Michael Moore, AOC and Bernie are doing – is absolutely vital to the future of our democracy.
And all of those progressives understand that no Trump-hating voter will be convinced by hearing non-stop Biden bashing telling young people about all the bad things that Biden stands for and tell them that means that they should not trust all the good things that Biden stands for either because it’s all a big lie anyway. Bernie Sanders, AOC, Cornel West, and Michael Moore understand that is exactly the message that would get Trump-haters NOT to vote for Biden! In fact, it is the message that reinforces exactly the right wing propaganda that Trump’s campaign has been pushing!
Which is why you never hear that message from AOC, Bernie Sanders, Cornel West and Michael Moore, but you do hear that message all the time from anonymous internet posters who claim to be Bernie voters or progressives and always pretend that they don’t support Trump. They want people to believe that their non-stop efforts to demonize Biden and get anti-Trump voters to stop focusing on the bad things about Trump and instead focus on how evil Biden is are not trying to help Trump at all. And if you believe them, I have a bridge to sell ya.
Focus on getting people to vote for Biden to continue democracy. It is the one thing that “anti-fascists” from progressives to moderates to conservatives agree on.
If a history book doesn’t cover Hitler and Stalin, there are various resources online.😐
This was so bad.
Minden is extremely racist.
The Sheriff recently threatened a librarian who wanted to hold a Black Lives Matter Event.
The town is a “sundown town”. It has a siren which blasts to let folks of color know they need to go home. It is mainly a racist remanent against Native Americans in the area.
Douglas County was the only place in Nevada without a case of Covid – or it was. So Trump who was denied by Reno lands Airforce One in tiny Minden (3,000 people) and all sorts of Trump Cultists drive over from Reno or Northern California.
They stacked them up and made them race to the front. Very few wore masks. Very few social distanced.
This was Trump’s favorite crowd. White and racist and rural and backward – trampling each other to get near him.
Trump said there 25,000. There were maybe 2,000. The locals were overwhelmed because their town is so tiny but it was not as many as Trump said.
If Minden is like Tulsa, expect a COVID surge.
For some above who think that schools are not doing their job in education. Is it worth noting that, the last I heard; 80% or so of the people around 30 and below are Bernie supporters. The tragedy, they did not vote.
There is so much that is terrifying about the “leadership” that Trump gives. Forgive the mixed metaphors but the pied piper leading the proverbial lemmings to destruction. Rather than just complaining DO SOMETHING to try to counteract this absolute disaster, in so many ways. Note the wildfires, unprecedented, the number and violence of our hurricanes, etc etc etc but science does not count. Climate change is still a Chinese hoax. Evidently some still believe the Corona virus is a hoax. God help us. People believe what they want to believe, not even what their eyes behold.
If those young Bernie voters do not vote, it implies to me that they don’t fully grasp the potential for America becoming a dictatorship and/or why dictatorship is a horror to be avoided at all costs. I think many young people have been taught to fear and loathe neoliberalism more than dictatorship.
Gordon Wilder: A friend of mine who lives in Miami heard a Trump lover speaking yesterday. He said that today, Sept. 15, there was going to be a protest because COVID-19 is a hoax. They are tired of their freedoms being trampled.
There is no getting through to the people who love Trump. He is causing deaths but the statistics are all wrong. They are created to make the president look bad.
It gets tiring to know so many are listening and believing that IDIOT.
Unbelievable. Trump doesn’t care about the people who come to the rallies. He cares about himself. So what else is new?
Any visitors to the WH aged 2 and older have to wear a mask.

Trump Flails In Attempt To Defend High-Risk, Indoor Campaign Rally In Nevada
“I’m on a stage and it’s very far away,” Trump told the Las Vegas Review-Journal. “And so I’m not at all concerned.”
09/14/2020 01:42 pm ET
…Here’s the line of questioning from Review-Journal White House correspondent Debra Saunders:
Aren’t you concerned about getting COVID in an enclosed room?
“No, I’m not concerned.”
What about people here?
“I’m more concerned about how close you are,” he said, ignoring the question and gesturing to Saunders’ proximity.
Sorry about that.
“Because you know why?” Trump continued. “I’m on a stage that’s very far away. And so I’m not at all concerned.”
Nevada hasn’t permitted gatherings of more than 50 people since May, a guideline based on White House recommendations, so the Trump rally openly violated that order. Sisolak condemned the “reckless and selfish” action on Twitter…

As for the rest of us? We’re hitting the bar, the movies, that Chinese Place and anywhere else we want.
If we or some people die well we’re willing to risk it…But MANY people are like me…They’re tired of giving up their RIGHTS for a NEVER ENDING QUARANTINE.
F the Quarantine…We don’t care anymore and we’re NOT giving up our rights anymore.
I saw a story yesterday about a protest rally by anti-maskers declaring their refusal to wear masks.
This is DANGEROUS. CDC scientists are now ‘plotting to attack Donald Trump next’. Why do scientists have to be loyal? Funny, but I don’t recall Obama or Clinton talking about how disloyal scientists were when they were president.
Trump has picked a loyal FREAKY nut case with no background in health to oversee the FDA, CDC and NIH.

Trump Health Aide Pushes Bizarre Conspiracies and Warns of Armed Revolt
Michael R. Caputo told a Facebook audience without evidence that left-wing hit squads were being trained for insurrection and accused C.D.C. scientists of “sedition.”
Sept. 14, 2020
…To a certain extent, Mr. Caputo’s comments in a video he hosted live on his personal Facebook page were simply an amplified version of remarks that the president himself has made. Both men have singled out government scientists and health officials as disloyal, suggested that the election will not be fairly decided, and insinuated that left-wing groups are secretly plotting to incite violence across the United States.
But Mr. Caputo’s attacks were more direct, and they came from one of the officials most responsible for shaping communications around the coronavirus.
C.D.C. scientists “haven’t gotten out of their sweatpants except for meetings at coffee shops” to plot “how they’re going to attack Donald Trump next,” Mr. Caputo said. “There are scientists who work for this government who do not want America to get well, not until after Joe Biden is president.”
A longtime Trump loyalist with no background in health care, Mr. Caputo, 58, was appointed by the White House to his post in April, at a time when the president’s aides suspected the health secretary, Alex M. Azar II, of protecting his public image instead of Mr. Trump’s. Mr. Caputo coordinates the messaging of an 80,000-employee department that is at the center of the pandemic response, overseeing the Food and Drug Administration, the C.D.C. and the National Institutes of Health…
Michael R. Caputo has clearly confused “sedation” with sedition.
CDC scientists are probably guilty of sedation
..which Caputo clearly requires.
SomeDAM Poet: The Left is also plotting an insurrection, armed revolt, if Trump gets elected. This is a call to all Trump supporters to get their guns and be ready, if necessary.
DANGEROUS FREAKY NUT CASE…inspired by Trump, the one with the HUGE magnificently intelligent gut.
Trump says, “They’re making a mistake because I have a gut, and my gut tells me more sometimes than anybody else’s brain can ever tell me.”
Well, Charles Blow did just effectively encourage “revolt” in the NY Times, talk which is unhelpful, in my opinion because, even if Blow was not referring to violent revolt, such language just feeds into the claims of the crazies.
SomeDAM and Carolmalaysia The revolt I’ve been waiting for is from the Senate Republicans. CBK

“Benghazi was Obama’s fault because 4 people died on his watch but 9/11 wasn’t Bush’s fault even though 3,000 people died on his watch and covid isn’t Trump’s fault even though 200,000 people died on his watch.”
