David Dayen of The American Prospect reports in his series “Unsanitized” that Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans are hammering out a new coronavirus relief bill, but its main beneficiaries will be businesses and hospitals that want liability protection. Are you surprised?
There might be funding to help schools reopen but it will likely be too little and too late. It’s tough to plan an opening in late August or early September in the midst of a pandemic when the money to pay for health measures does not yet exist.

Diane D’s trying to pass something through the Senate seems like trying to swim across a swamp full of hungry alligators without being eaten. “Disingenuous” hardly covers it. I get sick every time I hear about their re-doing and “marking up” bills that are supposed to benefit the people they work for.

Mitch McConnell represents one of the poorest states in the nation, and election after election, the people of that state go out and vote into office, again, a man who can absolutely be counted on to work against their interests.
