If you are ready for a hilarious read, read this.
Kellyanne Conway’s husband George is a conservative lawyer. He despises Trump. He is now leading an anti-Trump group of prominent Republicans called the Lincoln Project.
They recently aired an ad called “Mourning in America,” on FOX News.
Trump saw it and went crazy. He began tweeting insults at George Conway, who fielded them with grace and wit, qualities unknown to Trump.
It’s a great wit, especially when Trump calls Conway “moonface” and Conway adds the word to his Twitter ID.
The Big Bully just can’t take criticism and he is deflated when his target laughs at him.
I just watched this ad and it is incredible. In a way, what a distance the G.O.P. has traveled, from Reagan in 1984 to now. But wasn’t it in the cards all along? The phony stagecraft, glorification of big business and division of the nation via wedge issues. Trump is after all a 1980s retread, of a much cheaper and definitely tawdry variety.
Enough already of that decade. Time to move on!
Diane,
On another note (as I have lost your e-mail address) do you have Anand Giridharadas contact information so that you can share what Bill Gates has done to public education? It looks like Cuomo is using the Gates foundation to change public schools in New York, which means, of course, that the rest of the country will follow.
Anand has a new show on Vice. We need to get him to expose Gates to an audience outside of education. He should interview you and any other Gates expert that does not take funding from the Gates Foundation.
I have been in touch with Anand.
That’s an interview I want to see!
We are on the precipice of being so ignorant that our democracy is threatened.

This isn’t good.

There May Be a New Mutant Coronavirus Even More Contagious Than the Original, Study Warns
Jamie RossReporterUpdated May. 05, 2020 8:00AM ET / Published May. 05, 2020 7:46AM ET REUTERS
A new mutant strain of the coronavirus is even more contagious than the versions that spread in the early days of the pandemic, according to a new study by scientists at Los Alamos National Laboratory. The Los Angeles Times reports the researchers think the new strain can spread faster and make people vulnerable to a second infection after their first. The study was reportedly posted on BioRxiv, a site researchers use to share work before it’s peer-reviewed. It states that the new strain originated in Europe at some point in February, but quickly spread to the East Coast of the United States and has since become the dominant coronavirus strain around the world. The scientists said they felt an “urgent need for an early warning” to ensure that vaccines and drugs that are being developed are effective against the mutated strain—and not just the first versions. If confirmed, the findings will raise fears that the virus can mutate and change in the the same way as the influenza virus, which requires a new vaccine every year.
Read it at Los Angeles Times
The mutation of this virus is the explosion of the full blown release of the one in the white house. Ironically, the antidote for the second one is in the Constitution but no one in DC reads that anymore.
We need a lot – a whole lot – more Conways who don’t care about being the subject of tweets. (Presidential Tweets. I bet Orwell wishes he’d thought one up, too)
The doctors, epidemiologists, microbiologists, immunologists, and other researchers try to talk to IQ45 and his clown car posse and whoosh–it’s over their heads by 50,000 feet, even if the folks who actually know something draw the Trumpanistas lots and lots of simple pictures. This thing is going to get really, really bad as the Trump maladministration tries to return everything to “normal,” at the cost of hundreds of thousands of lives, because this is what the boss thinks is necessary to get him reelected (and so keep him out of jail).
It’s going to be horrifying to read the accounts, written after the fact, by people at the WHO and the CDC and elsewhere about how these vile fools suppressed the science and made this far, far worse than it had to be.
Grieve for the families who will lose people because of this vain fool.
What a final chapter in the life of Trump, this supreme fool.
“Mourning in America” should be seen by all. Last night, Lawrence O’Donnell had the co-creator (& I think co-founder of The Lincoln Project, who is a “long time Republican strategist”) of the ad have “The Last Word,” on MSNBC (I watch that alone on MSNBC; I would also watch All in w/Chris Hayes, but it’s on at inconvenient times, we don’t TIVO, & neither of those are on MSNBC OnDemand, although those are the 2 that should be).
Unfortunately, I forgot the man’s name, but he ^ George are brilliant.
BTW–I’d like to ask what brainchild made Chris Christie an ABC commentator*, giving his “expert” opinion on everything? He’s a real hater, speaking of narcissism. He’s a perfect spokesperson for hastening the opening of schools: he hates teachers with a passion. Didn’t someone in an ambulance stuck in traffic due to C2’s “Bridgegate” die en route to the hospital?
What’s a few more 100,000 deaths to him, as long as he or his family aren’t affected? He should hope & pray that he doesn’t become infected: people in poor health (and, esp., unfit) do not tend to do well w/coronavirus.
*Sorry, I know this is off-thread, but too late to comment on that earlier post.
