I have seen many home-made videos about the COVID-19 shutdown of large parts of society, but this one is the absolute best so far!
It’s a British family, Ben and Danielle Marsh and their four children, who live in Kent. They sing “One Day More” from “Les Miserables,” and they are hilarious!
I loved it!
Thanks to Bob Shepherd for supplying a link that works.
Hilarious, well-done, bless them.
I sent this to all my friends. What a talented family!!!

Thanks, Bob! I am reposting the video with the new link.
Bob,
Best laugh I’ve had in years! Thanks.
What a talented family!! Love seeing how creatively the whole bunch has spent their quarantine time together!
I concur! Kudos to this Mom and Dad!
This is a great project for a musical family. Isolation is an opportunity for creative exploration and expression.
It says this video is no longer available. ~DR

This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Benjamin Marsh.
I had the same message, but what a delight to see this here. Thank you.
I was not aware that a parody could be copyrighted.
In fact, I don’t think it can be.
Did you share this one already?
Or this one?
Tsk! Tsk!
That video was posted here about a week ago.
Sorry, I thought I saw it here but wasn’t sure. I think now that I discovered the other one on youtube after after seeing this one here and then searching for more there.
Absolutely great, Diane.
I can’t access it directly anymore, but who would file a copyright complaint? Sure, Marsh deserves lots of credit, but was this all about money? How sad.
On the other hand, maybe Marsh was concerned about other people making money from his creation. Hard to say.
Bob Shepherd sent me a link that still works. I just tried it and it’s working.
This one is a link to content posted to Youtube by Good Morning America Digital, which is part of ABC News, so I assume that GMA/ABC secured whatever permission it needed, if, indeed, it needed any permission, which seems to be questionable. Parodies, being transformative, fall under fair use, but can one copyright a parody? I don’t know, but I have my doubts. How could one copyright a work based on fair use of someone else’s work? That sounds, prima facie, absurd, but perhaps a lawyer who frequents this blog could comment. Where is FLERP!?
Have you watched the “angry mom rants” youtube posted above by reteach 4 America? [It’s in Hebrew w/subtitles, & ROFL hilarious]
THIS is exactly how I felt by Saturday night — and I don’t even have kids at home!
The online lessons bit meant dragging myself kicking & screaming into the 21stC. By the end of the week, I’d learned webcam/ mike, filming & editing clips into video lessons for PreK students [think: Shari Lewis/ Lambchop], uploading to files, then cloud, transmitting links to boss. (P.S. still don’t know how to store phone #’s in my old-lady flip-phone. I memorize them.)
But all week long, my Monday book club was noodging demands into the other ear: let’s do our April mtg on google hangout, it’s a cinch, just gobbledy-gook jargon-speak!
Wonderful friends for 25 yrs, not going to blow them off. Also, was looking forward to discussing Tara Westover’s “Educated” [highly recommended]. But the back&forth how-to’s have been head-spinning. (Complicated by my email-server inexplicably wimping out; realizing I’ve missed half theirs, & suspecting they’ve received none of mine.) It has been like the old jokes about figuring out the check at ladies’ luncheons. I fully expect tonight’s “meeting” to be a flustercuckle.
In a separate but related episode, my fave friend from there, a retired ESL teacher, & I have acquired next month’s selection (Cousin Bette) in French, w/plans to read/ discuss together online. That idea was hatched previously, I still a naïf as my friend assured me of the simplicity & universal ease w/which the entire world but me has been Skyping/ facetiming/ whatsapping for yrs. She’s brought a Belgian friend onboard & pushing to hold first mtg Sat – postponed to Sun as we started digesting the difficulties: (a)she Mac me Windows so facetime NG, (b)MS’ Skype wants Mac-her to buy trial game subscr to use it – not happening, (c) I have no smartphone so can’t use WhatsApp… etc! By Sat dinnertime, she & I & both our spouses were on 4 laptops plus phones on speaker at both ends– w/ my engr hubby & her computer-whiz dghtr calling the plays– trialling google hangout. One invite only came thro– 4 mins after sending!– attempted response not recd.
At that point I declared burnout, sayonara to the Balzac discussion idea, & 24 hrs’ computer-free Sunday.
