Donald Trump is the greatest hoax ever perpetrated on America
He is a liar
He is a cheat
He is a bad businessman
He can’t spell
He doesn’t read
He doesn’t listen
He has no principles
He doesn’t give a shit about anyone
He is profoundly disloyal
He projects his every flaw on others
He doesn’t know facts
He doesn’t respect science
He doesn’t get math
He doesn’t acknowledge history
He doesn’t even understand weather
He wanted to buy Greenland
He wanted to nuke hurricanes
He says he’s a genius
But he won’t release his grades or tax returns
He attacks war heroes while he pardons war criminals
He accuses others of nepotism while he privileges his own children
He whines about criticism as he spews nothing but bile
He calls patriots “human scum” while surrounding himself with scumbags like Roger Stone
He claims to be alpha while he endlessly whines like stuck pig
He says he’s for America though he cozies up to despots
He said no one has more respect for women than he does
He said he knows more than the generals
He suggested he has a special talent for infectious diseases
I am angry and worried right now. As are tens of millions of Americans. I don’t know what will happen next but what I do know is this:
Donald Trump is the greatest hoax ever perpetrated on America

Fabulous post!
Say it out loud every chance one gets:
“ Donald Trump is the Greatest Hoax Ever Perpetrated on America!”
AMEN!
Preet Bacharach says it best. For Diane Ravitch to post tells us one and all listen up! Another four years of this? No!
PREET IS WRONG!!! Trump is the biggest hoax ever perpetrated on any nation in the history of the world!!!
I am worried because the DNC insists on sending Biden into the chaos and fray, and I do not believe he is ideologically or personally up to the challenge. We also know Trump is a bully. Yesterday, I made my “Hail Mary” early vote for Bernie here in Florida.
I agree, retired teacher.
Go Bernie.
Can’t stand Biden, that fool. DNC is doing it AGAIN. The DNC better wake up.
The DNC is doing it?
That is so insulting to African-American voters in South Carolina. It is insulting to every primary voter. It’s as insulting as me saying that Russian trolls have convinced at least 35% of the Bernie voters to vote for him because they know if Bernie is the nominee, then they can use all the negative campaigning that neither HRC nor the DNC have ever used against Bernie to smear his character (not his policies).
The DNC doesn’t control voters. If the DNC controlled voters, HRC would have handily defeated Trump.
This belief that the DNC only has the power to brainwash voters during the primary but not the general election is really absurd.
Biden was practically about to withdraw from the race 3 weeks ago. I am sad about it, but he is getting votes fair and square. And making it about the DNC does nothing but defeat good progressive Democrats like Russ Feingold who lost because voters were told over and over again that the evil DNC was so corrupt the even the right wing Senator Ron Johnson was better. The fact that so many voters heard so many self-described democrats who insisted that the democrats were more evil than the Republicans gave that outrageous attack legitimacy and made a lot of people who would have otherwise voted for Russ Feingold believe it and either not vote or vote for Ron Johnson.
Can we stop demonizing the entire Democratic party which is exactly what posting “the DNC is doing it” absolutely does?
But wait, there’s more. This just in from this morning’s Huffington Post:
“TRUMP’S CAMPAIGN CHIEF FUNNELS PAY TO ERIC TRUMP’S WIFE, DON JR.’S GIRLFRIEND
“Trump’s campaign manager is quietly channeling money to Eric Trump’s wife, Lara Trump, and Donald Trump Jr.’s girlfriend, Kimberly Guilfoyle, The New York Times reported. The payments, ostensibly for work on the campaign, are hidden from public view because they’re made through campaign manager Brad Parscale’s private company, Parscale Strategy. [HuffPost]” CBK
He generally uses his lackeys to move payoff money, and he doesn’t have Michael Cohen anymore.

CK: IQ45 id probably glad for covid-19–another “distraction” from his beyond disgusting & crooked shenanigans.
Why should he care if Americans die, in large part, due to his ineptitude?
I’m surprised he’s not blaming this on the immigrants…
gee, if we build a wall, it will prevent the spread of the super virus!
Well, retired teacher, he is claiming credit for stopping the c-19 by blocking Chinese immigrants from entering the country. See, all problems can be solved by locking the doors.
dianeravitch: Trump is now saying that ‘the wall’ needs to be built. I read that 5x more cases are coming from Canada than Mexico. “The wall’ needs to be built on our northern border. Trump is a complete idiot.
……………………
The president reposted a tweet from conservative commentator Charlie Kirk on Tuesday referring to the disease as the “China Virus” and calling for the U.S.-Mexico border wall to be constructed. Trump added, “Going up fast. We need the Wall more than ever!”
There is no C-19 on the moon. I suggest we send him there ASAP in order to “protect” him.
The Trump administration has, on the whole, responded vigorously and effectively to the disease. Putting the vice president in overall charge of pandemic preparation was the correct decision. Trump’s style of leadership is on balance a plus in this kind of a crisis. He has the right people in the right places.
This is what Fox is saying. How do we fight this blatant disregard for truth?

…The Trump administration has, on the whole, responded vigorously and effectively to the disease. The president shut down flights from China in late January, which probably did not prevent the disease from taking hold in the United States, but it did slow its progress. This gave public health officials vital time for the necessary preparations: putting together the right team to manage the response, establishing communication protocols within the public health apparatus, preparing information for the public, identifying the key items to stockpile and the most promising medical countermeasures to pursue, and beginning the process of securing a vaccine and therapeutics.
Putting the vice president in overall charge of pandemic preparation was the correct decision. Bob Graham and I proposed the same thing to the Obama administration 12 years ago.
Trump’s style of leadership is on balance a plus in this kind of a crisis. He is neither afraid to make decisions nor overly concerned about being criticized for the decisions he makes That is vital. I have participated in tabletop exercises involving pandemic response; indecision is both seductive and dangerous, as Japan and South Korea are finding out.
At the same time, the president needs to be patient with his own team. He has the right people in the right places. They are all working 24/7 under difficult circumstances, and it’s not like there is a huge pool of people who can replace them if they leave. This is one time where Trump needs to lead with positive rather than negative reinforcement….

I think here in Indiana if the devil
himself ran as a Republican
he would win the election.
It is sad that so many people are tribal instead of thinking critically. These unfortunates are voting against their own self-interests, unless, of course, there are many billionaires living in Indiana, which is doubtful.
retired teacher: A recent headline in the local NW Indiana paper put Indiana 35th in the nation in wealth. We are 43rd in the number of people with bachelor’s degrees and 40th in the number of advanced degrees.
This is a Trump supporting state. No wealth, no education = TRUMP!
I think it would be interesting if you challenged the Trump supporters you meet in a subtle way.
Meaning, next time you see them, start coughing near them and mentioning that you have a fever, but you aren’t worried because Trump isn’t. Shake their hand and mention that you aren’t bothering with sanitizer because Trump said not to worry and “we all know that Trump’s uncle went to MIT so I’m following exactly what Trump says and not listening to anyone else.”
Start talking about how you are so glad that Trump is going to fire all the CDC people and doctors who aren’t agreeing with him that this whole virus is fake news.
When they try to argue with you, say that you heard for yourself Trump say it is fake news and you believe him because he knows best.
Keep coughing on them while saying you are just doing what Trump wants and spending time with large groups of your friends.
When things get back, your friends are going to say that Trump always said they were bad. But right now they are stuck having to defend Trump who says it isn’t a big deal.
Wilder If what you say is true, then Biden or Bernie, . . . doesn’t matter. CBK
I have said for years that Atilla the Hun could run as a Republican and be elected in Utah.
I was proven right in 2016…
But at least you have real Democrats in Utah (or used to when I was there: Ted Wilson, Rocky Anderson, Wayne Owens, Scott Matheson)
I actually had better choices on the Democratic side when I voted in Utah than I have now that I live on the east coast and the funny thing is, many of them actually got elected because even many registered Republicans liked them.
And actually, on the east and west coast there are a lot of Democrats who would only win in Utah if they ran as Republicans (some near the very top of the Democratic party)
The CDC is not reporting how many people have been tested. The number was pulled from its website. The Director of the CDC is a Trump appointed flunky.

…Yet right now, the United States isn’t reporting how many people have been tested; the C.D.C. pulled the number from its website…
Reuters just reported that Democrats are twice as apt to view the coronavirus as an imminent threat to our country as Republicans, and the reason seems clear: The news outlets that do the president’s bidding are playing down the potential scope and severity of the problem. Meanwhile, more clear-eyed governors are declaring states of emergency and speaking directly to more mainstream news sources to voice their concerns, as are doctors and epidemiologists.
The gulf between their discourse and the talking points of the federal government can be measured in light years. The administration is still talking containment. Epidemiologists, in the main, are assuming it can no longer be contained, and that we should all be responsibly thinking about next steps so that hospitals don’t become overwhelmed. Many of them are worth following on Twitter. Epidemiologists are the new rock stars…

“It was the beginning of a fiasco that could soon have global consequences. Trump shut down the National Security Council’s global health security unit and never replaced the Senior Director of Global Health Security, who would be responsible for pandemic response.
Conflicting information: Trump refuses to acknowledge the reality of the crisis. CDC officials are warning that the spread of coronavirus is incredibly serious. About Trump’s “special talent for infectious diseases”:
According to the Washington Post, last Friday, speaking about the coronavirus while touring the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, Trump, in the presence of actual experts, boasted to reporters, “I like this stuff. I really get it. . . . People are really surprised I understand this stuff. Every one of these doctors said, ‘How do you know so much about this?’ Maybe I have a natural ability.”
Readers of Jane Austen will be reminded of the declarations of Lady Catherine De Bourgh (Mr. Darcy’s aunt) — a pompous, ill-bred woman who, like Trump, is rich and accustomed to getting her own way — on her natural aptitude for music and for playing the pianoforte: “There are few people in England, I suppose,” she tells her guests at Rosings, “who have more true enjoyment of music than myself, or a better natural taste. If I had ever learnt, I should have been a great proficient.”
Exactly!!!! Perfect analogy. I would like to see this post alongside a picture of Lady Donald de Trump in her Regency finery.

Trump mutters an excuse as to why he disbanded the pandemic response team. Trump is so eloquent in his words. I don’t think I blubbered this much when I was in the fourth grade.
………………………..
As the threat to the U.S. has grown Trump spewed a word salad when pressed by a reporter about his 2018 decision to disband the pandemic response team:
“I just think this is something, Peter, that you can never really think is going to happen. You know, who — I’ve heard all about, ‘This could be…’ — you know, ‘This could be a big deal,’ from before it happened. You know, this — something like this could happen…. Who would have thought? Look, how long ago is it? Six, seven, eight weeks ago — who would have thought we would even be having the subject? … You never really know when something like this is going to strike and what it’s going to be.”
You never really know when.
That is precisely why you prepare for the contingency.
Will the Earth be struct by a meteor that causes catastrophic damage? Well, at some point, it’s likely to be. We know that. When? We don’t know that. And so we prepare monitoring and a response. That’s what leadership does.
That’s what the kakistocratic Don the Con maladministration did not do here.
A hoax. Precisely. Don the Con.
This guy who inherited more than half a billion dollars from Daddy would be worth far more than he is today if he had simply invested that money in a stock index fund. Instead, he put it into various businesses that he ran into bankruptcy and then had to start money laundering for Russian mobsters to pull himself out.
We’ve had slimeball grifters in the office before, but this one is a full-time, professional slimeball grifter.
It is long past time to school Mr. Trump University.
But the greatest shame lies on his enablers in the Trump maladministration and in Congress.
How dangerous is it to have a dishonest, racist, sexist, backward, predatory, profoundly ignorant, low-IQ narcissist sociopath in this office? Well, watch the COVID-19 response play out under his utter lack of leadership. We are in trouble.
Well, Trump’s new pick for CDC boss is, wait for it, a Christian fundamentalist wacko. That should put your mind at ease regarding COVID-19. From CNN:
[Robert] Redfield’s early engagement with the AIDS epidemic in the US in the 1980s and 90s was controversial. As an Army major at Walter Reed Medical Institute, he designed policies for controlling the disease within the US military that involved placing infected personnel in quarantine and investigating their pasts to identify and track possible sexual partners. Soldiers were routinely discharged and left to die of AIDS, humiliated and jobless, often abandoned by their families.
In the 1980s Redfield worked closely with W. Shepherd Smith, Jr. and his Christian organization, Americans for a Sound AIDS/HIV Policy, or ASAP. The group maintained that AIDS was “God’s judgment” against homosexuals, spread in an America weakened by single-parent households and loss of family values.
Redfield wrote the introduction to a 1990 book, “Christians in the Age of AIDS,” co-written by Smith, in which he denounced distribution of sterile needles to drug users and condoms to sexually active adults, and described anti-discrimination programs as the efforts of “false prophets.”
And, of course, he put Mike Dense, aka Mike non-Pensée, the guy who purposefully delayed needle exchange programs in Indiana because of his fundy “principles,” in charge of the government response.
We’re doomed.
Thanks I feel so much better now. We need a few densely packed Trump rallies. To make me feel even better.
Joel Herman (@jwherman11): Trump should show his love for his loyal people by shaking hands with MANY, MANY of them. Let them kiss his hands and blow him kisses.
Je Pence donc je suis bête
Don’t worry, folks. In the United States, there will eventually be plenty of COVID-19 tests and treatment for rich people.
“By not instituting widespread testing from the start, the U.S. has ensured that there are now cases all over the country — we have no idea how many — and that the virus will spread rapidly.”
The Director of the CDC was appointed by Trump. I just read that the United States isn’t reporting how many people have been tested; the C.D.C. pulled the number from its website.
CDC Director Redfield, a Trump appointed lackey, gave praise to Trump during his tour of CDC headquarters.”First I want to thank you, for your decisive leadership … I also want to thank you for coming here today … I think that’s the most important thing I want to say”
At a Friday news conference at the C.D.C., Trump told reporters that tests for the coronavirus were now available to anyone who needed one. This is untrue. States are in dire need of more tests.
The news outlets that do the president’s bidding are playing down the potential scope and severity of the problem. Trump, focusing on his re-election, is silencing those who would be bearers of bad news. This is what dictators do and it is endangering our lives.
Exactly right carolmaylasia.

Raw Story
I want Trump to have many, many, many rallies and shake hands with hundreds of people. He needs to get out with the people. In fact, I believe he should have an ego rally in Wuhan. Let the Chinese people show how much they love Trump. It would be a true love fest with thousands kissing his hands and blowing him kisses.

Rush Limbaugh: Democrats want Trump to stop rallies because Democratic voters are attending — not because of coronavirus
Limbaugh also expresses shock and disbelief at idea that “these rallies are done for the psychological health of Donald Trump”
RUSH LIMBAUGH (HOST): Democrats out the wazoo are showing up at Trump rallies. This is why they want these rallies stopped. This is why — it’s not because of public safety, not because of public health. These people — because as you point out, they’re not making an effort to shut down every other opportunity for people to congregate.
CALLER: Right. So it makes no sense.
LIMBAUGH: No, it makes perfect sense.
CALLER: I just think the majority of people — I mean, granted their base won’t, but the majority of people can see through that.
LIMBAUGH: Yeah. No, but it makes perfect sense from their standpoint. If you can’t beat Trump and if you want to stop the appearance of excitement about the Trump campaign, then stop the rallies. And if you’re really worried that so many people attending rallies are actually Democrats, then you’ve really gotta shut ’em down.…
LIMBAUGH: They don’t get this at all. You know, folks, I sit here literally — I have now for four years — in stunned amazement over the inability of the Democrats to understand these rallies. And this comment from Rahm Emanuel informs me of just how ignorant about this they are, and it’s worse than I thought. These guys actually think these rallies are done for the psychological health of Donald Trump? That’s what they think? And that if these relies ceased, that somehow Donald Trump’s psychological health would plummet because Donald Trump cannot survive without a daily display of thousands of people showing him how much they love and adore him? This is truly — these are political professionals whose job it is to try to figure out why their opponents are beating them and to figure out ways to stop that and to beat their opponents, and these people — folks, it’s stunning how far off the mark they remain when it comes to understanding Donald Trump and you, his supporters.
Love you, Preet
A cashier at Walmart gets 48 hours of sick leave a year while earning $11.60 an hour. This is slave labor. Surely the Waltons can do better than that.
………………..
Spotty Sick Leave Policies Limit Options for Avoiding Virus
…The Walmart cashier in Malvern, Arkansas, serves hundreds of people a day and her big worry is what will happen to her income if she catches the virus or comes in contact with someone who’s had it and must self-quarantine for 14 days.
“If I can’t go to work, I could try to take a leave but it will be unpaid,” said Hughes, who earns $11.60 an hour. “I don’t know what I would be doing about taking care of my family.”
Hughes, a diabetic and mother of four, gets 48 hours of sick leave a year but she fears it wouldn’t be nearly enough time to recover…
…In the United States, about 27% of private sector workers don’t have access to paid sick leave, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics…
https://www.snopes.com/ap/2020/03/10/spotty-sick-leave-policies-limit-options-for-avoiding-virus/
Can the Waltons afford to pay their 1 million workers $15 an hour or give them sick leave?
They are only worth $150 billion.
There are 1.5 million Walmart workers in the US. If the Walton’s family fortune was distributed equally, each of the one and a half million workers would receive $100,000! If the Walton’s suggest that their workers earn it the old fashioned way, it would take each of them 225 full time, 40 hour weeks at the register – or 4.5 years!
As much as I am loathe to admit it, Walmart has temporarily changed its policy on leave. They will pay for two weeks of leave if someone is quarantined and longer for individual cases. That was just announced today (my two children work at Walmart while going to school).
Now, it’s totally because it looks terrible to do otherwise. But it is something, a little bit, I guess.
GOOD.
I received a notice yesterday from Medicare:
Medicare covers the lab tests for COVID-19 — you pay no out-of-pocket costs. And Medicare also covers all medically necessary hospitalizations.
For more information about Medicare and COVID-19, visit Medicare.gov.
According to an Indiana state Senator this is what is happening in Indiana:
On Friday, the first case of coronavirus was confirmed in Marion County, Indiana. Since Friday, Indiana has confirmed a total of six cases, one in Marion, two in Hendricks, and one in each of Noble, Boone, and Adams Counties. Currently nationwide, 747 people have tested positive for coronavirus and at least 26 patients with the virus have died.
Of course, there is no definite way to know what is accurate information. The more cases that occur, the more Trump wants it hidden.
If he can’t see it, it doesn’t exist -or if pressed – it can be blown off with generalizations and superlatives and single syllable adjectives – oh and calling it fake or hoax – or just scapegoat and blame.
Hacked voting? Can’t see it, doesn’t exist.
White supremacy? Can’t see it, doesn’t exist.

As for the virus – it’s an unknown – it creeps up – but there is time for wise leaders (wise leaders) to confer, listen to experts, and figure it out.
Not so much with germ warfare, an enemy releasing something among the masses, attacks on power grid.
The WH response to this virus will look like efficiency compared to the mass chaos and blundering and millions impacted.
