I never thought about sitting down and writing out my “rules for life,” but Peter Greene did.
They are good as anything I could write, actually better, so I share them here with you.

I see that Peter’s wonderful list bears similarities to a sign for The Church of the Dude that reads:
Dance. Grow things. Don’t be a dick.

This is a wonderful list! Hats off, Peter!
Here’s one of my favorite rules for living. It’s from Mikhail Baryshnikov: “I do not try to dance better than anyone else. I only try to dance better than myself.”

“Say yes.” –Peter Greene
This is one of the basic rules of improv. When the other person does or says something, you say yes to it and build on it.
And life–despite all the scripts others want you to follow–is basically improv.

“Most of what I’ve screwed up in life came from reacting in fear– not sensible evaluation of potential problems, but just visceral fear.” –Peter Greene
Amen to that. Luciano Pavarotti said, “Lots of people sing as well as I do. The difference between me and them is that I’m not afraid.”

BTW, my daughter was in the children’s chorus at the NYC Metropolitan Opera for three seasons. The highlight for her was playing Pavarotti’s daughter in Tosca. He was a lovely man that gave her an autograph, even though it was “frowned upon” by management.

How wonderful!!!! And my Lord, what a voice this man had!!!!

I went to several of the performances. Pavarotti, BTW, could not read music, but his voice was pure gold. He focused on the work, not the fame. He was no ‘divo.’

President Donald Trump posted his Thanksgiving message to Twitter Thursday morning. It was a photo of the President and First Lady earlier in the week, pardoning the turkeys in front of an audience in the Rose Garden of the White House.“Melania and I wish all Americans a very Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving!” in a graphic. “HAPPY THANKSGIVING!” in all-caps was the text of the tweet.
Meanwhile, also on Thursday morning, former President Barack Obama sent the nation a Thanksgiving message, far different from the Oval Office’s current occupant.
It includes a photo of the Obama family helping to feed the needy and the homeless on the day before Thanksgiving, 2014.The message: “Today, we give thanks for our blessings, give back to those around us, and enjoy some time — and turkey, and maybe a little football — with the ones we love. From the Obama family to yours, Happy Thanksgiving.”

Trump will not like that.
If he accidentally finds out that Obama’s Thanksgiving tweet had more likes then his, Trump will claim that illegal immigrants cast those “likes” and it is also fake news.
Trump will go on to claim that he has had the most “likes” on twitter in all of history even as far back as the day Jesus Christ was born.
Trump will Tweet that Jesus Christ’s Twitter account never had as many followers as Trump does.
