   I showed that to my freshman composition students yesterday. Rainbow, who is a one-person show operating in Queens, demonstrates what one person can do with words, tunes and a few good software programs. He’s a great example of multimedia writing. And he is funny–and right on target with DeVos.

     The other great thing about Randy Rainbow is that he is very fast. He turns around current events as they are happening. Note staff. Just Randy.

   Thank you, Randy, for staring down DeVoid that is DeVos.

   It’s not surprising, ofc, that the woman whose money comes from Amway was appointed by the guy who gave you Trump University and is a big proponent of proprietary colleges, charter schools, and vouchers.

   Proprietary schools hook students and taxpayers for hundreds of thousands of dollars in student loans on the promise of jobs typically accessible only to people who have attended more reputable institutions.

   Charter schools siphon off public education funds to enrich the owners of the management companies that operate and supply them (and the relatives of those owners).

   Voucher systems siphon off public school dollars to pay tuitions to religious schools that teach discrimination toward people of other religions (history) and that little Cain and Abel rode around on dinosaurs (science).

   Ditzy DeVos and Don the Con. Who knows? I bet they have a deal or two for you.

   Teachers union at Sacramento City Unified announces one-day strike for April 11

   …The SCTA spent three weeks collecting votes for the strike, and said the turnout was 70 percent of its 2,500 members. Of those, according to the union, 92 percent voted to approve the strike.

   This decision adds to the challenges faced by the district, which is under the threat of state takeover as it attempts to close a $35 million budget gap.

   In a letter to Sacramento City Superintendent Jorge Aguilar last week, the teachers union asked the district to sign a written agreement seeking a meeting to discuss the SCTA’s budget proposal, and to abide by its current collective bargaining agreement and “use any savings from health plans to lower class sizes and improve services to students.”…

     California per pupil spending is similar to that of Louisiana and South Carolina

   In other news, this is your President, at his rally in Michigan:

   “It’s like I attacked so violently Pocahontas. And I knocked her out of the race I guess and I said why did I do that for? It’s too early.”

   In one little statement, we get this toxic brew: ideation of violence against a woman, the racist term “Pocahontas,” gloating about his own violence and sexism and racism, narcissism, ignorance of the most basic rules of his own language, and complete obliviousness about just how awful all this is.

   If a remedial sixth grader were also 72 years old and a sociopath, this is what he would sound like.

   What an utter embarrassment! Lord, I loathe this man.
