Bill Gates loves Educators4Excellence. They claim to speak for teachers, but they are a TFA-founded group that can be counted on to spout the Gates party line. I once was on a panel with Evan Stone, where he sang the praises of the Common Core. That’s to be expected from someone who is dependent on Gates funding.
Mercedes Schneider documents the close financial ties between Gates and E4E.
He just gave them another $4 million. Gates gave them $12 million between 2011 and 2018. The co-founders pay themselves $216,000 each. They would never collect that much if they were in the classroom.
Question: Whom do they advocate for? Teachers or Bill Gates?

The E4E website shows a group of dewy eyed young people looking like a recruitment poster for the Peace Corps. They want us to believe that they are promoting teacher led change. They are really a front for Bill Gates and hedge funds that want nothing to do with legitimate teacher led change.https://e4e.org/

I agree with your assessment. I looked at the 2017 annual report online and concluded that E4E wants to kill existing unions for teachers and enlist a cadre of new recruits who are willing to learn how to market selected “teacher-led policies” as if new, original, and so on…with John King, Jr. and Kaya Henderson appearing as if experts!!! These big time failures at school reform are presented as if models of professional wisdom.
What matters to E4E is scaling up–building out the membership and training teachers in rituals of collaboration with a focus on marketing policies. The one striking thing in this annual report is a claimed interest in policies that would restore teacher tenure…but on terms that would suit this organization. In fact, the tenure policy ideas appear to be from the Education Trust, The New Teacher Project (TNTP), and legacies from Michelle Rhee.
The bios of Board Members and the list of contributors to E4E will tell you a lot…if you have been around this and other blogs devoted to exposing the billionaire effort to take over public education.

E4E tried to recruit me years ago. They try to set up a coffee or lunch date to “discuss your experience of teaching” -off school grounds of course. They sounded very sweet and innocent until I brought up their bosses’ ties to privatizes and union busters. Never heard from them again. We also had a teacher that left the profession to lead one of their offices (for a hefty salary). Last I heard he was desperate to get back into teaching. As a general rule, avoid any group that uses a number to stand for a word in their title (e.g. “2” instead of “to” or “4” instead of “for”).

I noticed the Gates’ links to groups with “2” and “4” when reading about Conservative Leaders 4 Education (Ohio’s Republican Senate education committee chair founded CL4E). They’re all in for Common Core. The sooner American citizens are disabused of the notion that Bill and Melinda are anything but oligarchs privatizing the nation’s assets, the better. The sooner they know the goal of Gates’ charter schools is “brands on a large scale” and that he and Z-berg are investors in the largest for-profit seller of schools-in-a-box, the better.

Also, do you notice how all these organizations like E4E are jumping on the bandwagon with removing G&T schools in New York City? If G&T schools are gone, only charter schools will be on the list with the top test schools.
