Alejandro Juarez is the wife of a military veteran. He served four tours of duty in combat. She has two children born in America. She entered the country illegally twenty years ago. She has no criminal record. The Trump administration deported her to Mexico. That’s the result of the Trump zero-tolerance policy. I listened to her on radio on the day she was deported, leaving her family.
This is an administration that seems to enjoy separating families. There are at least 500 children who were separated from their parents at the border and have not been reunited with them. The Trump administration lost them. They had no system for identifying them and tracking their whereabouts. The administration had the nerve to tell the ACLU, which sued to demand reunification, to take charge of reuniting those the Trump administration had separated. Some of the lost children are babies. They can’t say their names. They are lost. Our great nation orphaned them. Shameful.
“Sgt. Temo Juarez was a Trump guy. An Iraq combat veteran who served as a Marine infantryman and then an Army National Guardsman, his friends called him a “super conservative.” With his wife, he brought up their two daughters in Central Florida. He supported Trump in 2016, eager for a change.
“But now, “I am eating my words,” he told the military newspaper Stars and Stripes in an interview published last week.
“On Friday, Juarez and his family became the latest victims of Trump’s zero-tolerance policy on immigration.
“On that day, his wife, Alejandra, left the country under a deportation order. She had come to the United States from Mexico illegally as a teenager two decades ago and had until now being living undisturbed with Temo, a naturalized U.S. citizen, and daughters, both natural-born Americans. This week, Temo will fly to Mexico with his daughters, 9-year-old Estela and 16-year-old Pamela — and leave his younger daughter there, even though English is her first language. He can’t do his construction job and take care of her in Florida by himself.”
Alejandro was not a criminal. She was not a rapist or a murderer. She is the mother of two American children and the wife of a citizen.
There are 11,000 other military veterans whose families are in jeopardy.
When will this reign of madness end?
Who in the administration “loves” this policy the most, even came up with it? They should be jailed until every family is reunited, made whole.
Stephen Miller . He hails from Santa Monica CA and went to Santa Monica HS. He dumped a friend in middle school because he was Latino. For over half his life (he’s 32?) has has spewed vile racist diatribe. He was the least liked conservative activist at his HS.
https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2018/06/stephen-miller-family-separation/563132/
Stephen Miller will be ostracized for the rest of his life unless he moves to a fascist country like Russia.
Steven Miller doesn’t have to move out of the United States to find a community that will accept him, but most of California is the wrong place for him.

Steven could move to Mississippi since it’s listed at the most racist state in the U.S. he could also pick the most racist town or city in Mississipi.

In fact, I may have found the perfect town in Mississipi for Miller to live.

Lloyd – so Google searches for the N-word mean an area is racist? I’m going to guess that black people probably search for that word the most, especially younger black people (an awful lot of rap music contains that word). Does that make young black people racist?
And the other link is simply ranked by voting and anecdotes. Yeah, that’s scientific.
In any case, there seems to be mass schizophrenia in the Democratic Party. On one hand, the party keeps going further and further right to try to capture the Republican vote. On the other hand, Democrats seem to get a thrill from calling Republicans/Southerners/etc. racist. Here’s a hint: if you want conservatives/red staters to vote for you, stop painting them all as deplorable racist ignorant hicks. Further hint: maybe you could even listen to them once in a while (I mean, if you’re not going to listen to the left, you might as well listen to the right). I mean, I know that’s not as much fun as yucking it up at other people’s expense, but….
Assuming a voter has to select a GOP primary candidate, how would he/she rank based on, corrupt, unhinged, racist/sexist?
The Encyclopedia of American Loons reviewed Bill Fawell’s interpretation of reality. He is the GOP candidate for the 17th Congressional district in Illinois. Reading the entry may help with rankings.
This is not a “reign of madness”. It is a reign of “terror”. We should all be living in terror of what will come next.
That’s a sad story.
It isn’t just Trump, though. We still have a legislative branch. They have plenty of power. They could easily rein Trump in by drafting and passing immigration legislation.
Every Republican in Congress is supporting this policy, because they choose not to do anything about it.
Too many veterans fall for Trump’s phony “patriotism.” That is why Trump keeps returning to Pensacola where people wave the flag before they think about who this so-called leader really is. He is a selfish, bigoted, money grubbing opportunist that exploits their sacrifice and call to duty. Trump does not care about other families, children or veterans as he is only concerned with creating an island of opportunity for himself. Actions speak so much louder than words. Trump is a dishonest demagogue that cares more about Vladimir Putin than the American people.
Even one vote is too many, BUT it wasn’t a clear majority of (United States) troops that voted for Trump. According to the Military Times (I read this piece at the Concord vet center), only 44% of the troops support Trump.
In fact, 40% had an unfavorable view of Trump.
In addition, 53% of officers said they had unfavorable views of Trump, but most if not all officers have college educations — did that make the difference? No wonder the Alt-Right wants to destroy traditional public education in the US and replace schools with abusive, autocratic torture chambers like Eva Moskowitz’s misnamed Success Academies in New York City.
https://www.google.com/search?q=How+many+veterans+and+active+military+voted+for+Trump&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-b-1
The poll revealed some other divides, as well:
NOTE: I’m a former Marine and Vietnam combat vet, and it pisses me off that so many younger, active duty Marines support Trump.
Most former Marines from my generation (the Vietnam era) that I know, can’t stand Trump.
In fact, to avoid conflict between the two factions, PTSD peer support groups through the VA must avoid politics and are NOT allowed to mention Trump’s name unless everyone in the group thinks the same way. It’s okay to ask for a raise of hands to find out. “Raise your hand if you support Trump.” If one hand goes up, no discussion allowed.
If everyone in the room despises Trump, then it is okay to roast him.
Makes since when everyone in a PTSD combat support group is a trained killer.
What I find interesting is that I haven’t found one VA counselor (PTSD therapists) that supports Trump — yet.
How any immigrants and women support Trump is beyond my comprehension.
I am of two minds on this. While I have sympathy for the wife and children, I could care less about this idiot. He got what he deserved and I hope he gets shafted a few more times. My sympathy for them is over.
On the same note, as I was driving and thinking today, we also need to get rid of the “not everyone who voted for our Dear Leader is a racist.” It’s time to call then what they are: racists. If your actions support racism and you enable policy makers to make racist laws, guess what? You’re a racist. Only genuine repentance and reparations will begin to absolve them.
Bingo.
I am retired military. If I had been still serving when Mad Man Trump took office, I would have dropped my retirement papers on that very day. There is no way on this earth that I would serve under this reckless, belligerent fool.
If this veteran votes for a GOP Senator or House member he is voting for Trump again, because the GOP Congress refuses to rein Trump in.
Trump will take it as an endorsement, too, and get even more extreme and divisive and authoritarian.
If they truly regret voting for the Trump Administration they need to stop voting for Donald Trump over and over- which is what they’re doing if they return Republicans to Congress.
Republicans in Congress had a choice- they chose to be useless potted plants and exercise none of their granted powers under our scheme of government, because they’re easily-led cowards. Stop protecting their jobs- they don’t do them anyway.
They should stop voting for his Republican enablers. Unfortunately, so many of Trump’s supporters would rather be “Russian than Democrat.” That is how truly brainwashed some followers are.
Trump’s rabid followers wear a T-shirt that says “I’d rather be a Russian than a Democrat.”
What can you say to such fools?
Move to Minsk!
It’s a joke, Diane.
If being a Russian meant being a socialist it would be out of character for these people. Russia is what they have always wanted an authoritarian xenophobic homophobic criminal enterprise.
What in that description is inconsistent with the Republican party of Richard Nixon or Ronald Reagan. Which was formally the party of George Wallace.
“But now, “I am eating my words,” he told the military newspaper Stars and Stripes in an interview published last week.
……………..
I hope that his story has an effect on the people serving in the military who read Stars and Stripes. Too many of them voted for Trump. People need to learn, the hard way sometimes, that he is cruel and no good for this country.
But, but, but…Cadet Bone Spur loves the military and the veterans and “his” generals.
Why does the VFW love a draft dodger?
A Reign Of Terror (ROT) has to be arbitrary and capricious — that way it keeps everyone in fear who’s next.
According to the “Military Times”, the individual chose to “self-deport”, rather than face mandatory deportation. See

I am a veteran. My spouse (and my previous spouse) are foreign-born. Both of them completed the entry procedures, and entered the USA legally, and later completed the citizenship (naturalization) process, and became American citizens.
I am watching this case with great interest.
Charles, your family is of no interest to me. Enough with personal anecdotes.
Do you approve the deportation of this veteran’s wife?
Readers,
Can you hear me biting my tongue, deleting what I wanted to say?
Diane, you’re doing a great job. I always look to see what you will post. I cheer when I see it.
I want to type STFU but I can’t bring myself to do it.
Diane, I don’t text and had to look up the meaning of STFU . Good one. There comes a time when this is appropriate. My language really deteriorated over 30 years ago when I went through a divorce. I still pull up those well used words, often when I think about Trump.
……………………….
acronym for “shut the fuck up”. Used mainly in computer-based conversation (instant messaging, email, text messaging, etc.)
Sshhh
Keep it a secret!
I do not approve of this action. Spouses of US Citizens are issued permanent residence status. I mentioned my personal situation, because my wife might be next.
Hi Charles:
What is the real meaning of “American citizens” to you?
Do you understand it and be able to explain it to your wife?
Since Trump adores Putin, you support Trump, and you speak Russian fluently, why don’t you move to Russia to be with your wife and her family!
I wonder why should you sponsor your wife to be American after married you and completed the citizenship (naturalization) process, and became American citizens. Is there a bit conflict in your mind?
IMHO, I live in Canada, besides working, learning and paying my due, I participate and volunteer to all activities in charity regardless of some misuses from certain ignorant upper management/authority.
I never send my donation to all communist countries, nor to go for a vacation in any of those ones. I escape communism by accept willingly the possible death in ocean. I accept humane nature of being jealous and hatred toward my success wherever I live in as an immigrant.
In short, I hope that you will use your intelligence to promote what you treasure and live with like CIVILIZATION, and mutually CARING for people who are less fortune and happiness than you. You would not know when your children’s turn will be 50 years from now. Wouldn’t you need to fertilize the “civilized ground” in America for your wife, your children and all of their siblings, relatives later for their own sake?
If you do not agree, then pack and go back to Russia ASAP. Truly yours, Back2basic
Answering your questions: An American citizen is a person born on US soil, or naturalized. My wife understands what it means to be a citizen, she had to pass a test, and swear an oath, and reject her previous citizenship. She understands better than most people. (I am very proud of her).
I do not get your syllogism. I support some (not all) of the policies of our president. I have a moderate degree of fluency in Russian, but I do not speak it well enough to earn a living there. I have no interest in moving to Russia so that I can be with my wife. My wife is an American citizen (see previous paragraph), and the two of us live in Alexandria Virginia. My in-laws reside in Moscow, and they may possibly be moving to the USA in the coming years. (I can sponsor them, and there is a visa category for retired people).
I sponsored my wife’s citizenship application. I am an American citizen, my home and career are here, and we chose to marry. What of it?
My wife has supported her parents financially. They are retired, and their pensions are small. There are very few communist countries left, and Russia is not one of them.
I have no children now, and I will certainly not have any in 50 years.
I cannot go back to Russia, I am not a Russian citizen, and I have no desire to go there (other than a tourist visit, the country is fascinating)
Hi Charles:
Thank you for your reply.
I assume that you are too intelligent to understand the implication of being citizenship but too selfish to treasure the common good and to nurture the state of civilization in America in 20th century for all Americans today and in the future regardless of having children or not.
Please enjoy whatever you have today. It is agony for me to see and to witness that there are many gullible people who praise communist and lawless country but they cling to live in a capitalist country with lawful protection. What a contradicted mind! Back2basic
Reblogged this on The Soulful Veteran's Blog and commented:
If you are a combat veteran and/or are still in the US military and you support Donald Trump, what’s wrong with you?
I agree. I was raised as a military brat and married into a family with multiple military ties. All voted for this president*. And all of them have earned almost everything they’ve earned in their lives from public funding, first as active duty, later as military contractors. I keep my obligated visits to the absolute minimum.
I love Borowitz. Remember this is satire. [Sounds like fact.]

DeVos Says Trump’s Forty-Per-Cent Approval Rating Means More Than Half of Country Supports Him
WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—An exuberant Betsy DeVos said on Monday that Donald J. Trump’s forty-per-cent approval rating is a “clear indication” that more than half the country agrees with the job he is doing.
“I was so excited to see the President’s approval rating hit forty,” DeVos, the Secretary of Education, told reporters. “Just knowing that well more than half the country is with him gives us a great sense of confidence moving forward.”
She also criticized the media for failing to report “our powerful forty-per-cent mandate.”…

Pence Announces Creation of Space Force Branch by 2020
The vice president said the new military branch will be pursuing “American dominance in space.”
Vice President Mike Pence on Thursday announced plans to establish a “Space Force” by 2020, which would be the sixth branch of the military and the first new defense branch since the Air Force was created in 1947. During his remarks at the Pentagon, Pence said that President Donald Trump’s “highest priority is the safety and security of the American people… Space is, in his words, a war-fighting domain just like land and air and sea.” He also said that the U.S.’s presence in space was “not enough,” and the country must have “American dominance in space, and so we will.” Pence described some of the steps that will be taken to build the new military branch—including appointing a new assistant secretary of defense for space, building space warfighters, and forming a space-operations force that would pull “men and woman from across the military.” …

Mentally ill, naaaa. They were born that way. Their parents raised them to think like they are mentally ill. Thinking like that is natural to them.
Imagine all the profits to be made by the Alt-Right few as the US spends trillions to create this space command.
Remember when President Ray-Gun was going to create a Star Wars defense system, that never happened, and he launched the trickle-down economy and the birth of the national debt with all if his tax cuts and increases in defense spending?

This is what I find interesting about FOX — the name and nothing else.
FOXED is a word that means “deceived; tricked”

We can’t seem to be able to afford funding for public education; rebuilding our crumbling infrastructure; proper health, psychiatric, vision & dental care for our veterans; etc., etc., and then Bone Spur Trump and Pence want to build a StarWars fleet. Of course the old saying, “Build an military force and then go find a war to fight.” Trump is looking for his war.

Pence Calls Space Force Necessary to Protect U.S. from Gay Aliens
The Vice-President detailed a nightmare scenario in which “gay aliens by the thousands” land in the U.S. and “subvert life in America as we know it.”
WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—Making a major announcement at the Pentagon on Thursday, Vice-President Mike Pence said that the proposed United States Space Force was necessary to defend the U.S. from gay aliens.
“I stand before you today to say that this country is under attack from outer-space gays,” Pence told the military gathering. “Only Space Force can protect us from their unimaginable evil.”

So Pompeo and Mattis worked behind the scenes to ‘shield NATO deal from Trump’. Getting things done before Trump finds out about it says a lot about Trump’s ‘leadership’. Our allies really don’t trust him nor want him around.
“NATO declaration was completed days before leaders set foot in Brussels.”

U.S. Officials Scrambled Behind the Scenes to Shield NATO Deal From Trump
admin 11 hours ago
He asked the delegations to finish their work by July 6 at 10 p.m. Brussels time.
Fearful of a repeat of the G-7 disaster — in which Mr. Trump refused to sign off on the joint communiqué, escalated a trade war and publicly derided Prime Minister Justin Trudeau of Canada — the emissaries from the NATO countries all agreed.
Two senior European officials said Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Defense Secretary Jim Mattis were also keen to avoid another confrontation similar to the G-7, and the NATO declaration was completed days before leaders set foot in Brussels.
It achieved several goals critical to NATO officials.
Against Russian objections, the military alliance would formally invite Macedonia to join. It would establish an Atlantic Command post, hosted by the United States in Norfolk, Va., to coordinate a swift alliance response in the event of, for instance, a war in Europe between Russia and NATO allies.
And, most important, allies pledged to build up their militaries and provide 30 mechanized battalions, 30 air squadrons and 30 combat vessels, all ready to use in 30 days or less, by 2020 — a force to quickly respond to any attack on an alliance member.
Jamie Shea, a NATO deputy assistant secretary general, called the declaration “the most substantive” agreement that the alliance had put out in years. But its success, according to the American and European officials, lies in the feverish work before the summit meeting to keep it away from Mr. Trump…
My best wishes for the movie to help ‘bring down Trump’. I like the idea of using ‘Flint water to hose down the Michigan governor’s gated driveway.’

See The Trailer For Michael Moore’s New Documentary About Trump
“Fahrenheit 9/11,” Michael Moore’s polemic about George W. Bush and the War on Terror, remains the highest-grossing documentary of all time. If the national mood was splintered when that movie opened in 2004, it’s nothing compared to what it is now, almost two years into Donald Trump’s presidency.
So, naturally, Moore is channeling his most famous film to explore that exact subject: “Fahrenheit 11/9” seeks to “bring Trump down” before November’s midterm elections.
HuffPost has an exclusive look at the first trailer for “Fahrenheit 11/9,” a reference to the day Trump was declared the winner of the 2016 election. It juxtaposes footage of Trump rallies and neo-Nazi protests with images of Moore using Flint water to hose down the Michigan governor’s gated driveway. Roger Stone, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Parkland massacre survivor Emma González and a host of others from both sides of the so-called aisle appear in the film….

Perhaps he should familiarize himself with Martin Niemöller…as should most people living in this country.
The two words, barren soul, describe hedge funders, Trump’s enablers, intellectual prostitutes and tech tyrants.
“barren” implies the existence of one, however lacking it is 😉. Soulless, soul crushing.
I have no sympathy for these people. Her husband voted for the a$$hole in chief. Did he think he and his wife were better than the the millions of other hard-working undocumented? When Trump made nasty remarks about Mexicans, that didn’t bother Juarez? Did they think the hatred Trump whipped up wouldn’t touch them? Again, I keep coming back to they thought they were better than others. They’re not. As Herr Trump would say, “illegal is illegal.”
And, of course, lots of non-criminal undocumented people have been deported for YEARS, leaving behind children who ended up in foster care and/or put up for adoption.
Nothing new under the sun, but welcome to the cause. So glad folks are finally walking up to the truth. Too bad it took the election of this turd to get people out on board. Advocates such as myself have been crying into the wind for too long.

I am continuously amazed at the wisdom of Dr. Martin Luther King. His words are needed now more than ever. I”m not sure how to apply his message but I definitely understand the part about violence multiplying under the hatred and fear that Trump spreads.
…………………………..
Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. told us that “hate begets hate; violence begets violence; toughness begets a greater toughness. We must meet the forces of hate with the power of love… Our aim must never be to defeat or humiliate the white man, but to win his friendship and understanding.”
King continued, “Returning violence for violence multiplies violence, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”
Petition: Tell Trump: ‘Your Immigration Hypocrisy Is Clear’:
On Thursday, U.S. citizenship was bestowed on Donald Trump’s in-laws, immigrants from Europe. No one, including the lawyer for Trump’s in-laws, has denied that they gained citizenship based on a family-unification process that Trump has repeatedly denounced as “chain migration” when it involved Mexicans or other immigrants of color.
Trump has reviled the process by which an adult immigrant can gain U.S. citizenship and then obtain residency (and sometimes citizenship) for their parents or a spouse or kids. But that’s exactly the process used by Melania Trump for her parents Amalija and Viktor.
In November, Trump sent out this hypocritical tweet:
“CHAIN MIGRATION must end now! Some people come in, and they bring their whole family with them, who can be truly evil. NOT ACCEPTABLE!”
We don’t know if Melania Trump’s parents are “evil”, but we do know that most immigrants are NOT evil — no matter if they are Mexican or Slovenian. Melania had sponsored her parents for their residency “green cards.” Whether from Mexico or Slovenia or elsewhere, immigrants must “have their green cards for at least five years in order to apply for citizenship, along with fulfilling character, residency and civic knowledge requirements,” according to The New York Times.
If that immigration and citizenship process is good enough for Donald Trump’s in-laws, why isn’t it good enough for other immigrants, including those from south of the border?
