I do not believe that preserving the constitutional protections contained in the 2d amendment, are very high on Ms. DeVos’ agenda. She probably could not recite the amendment, if asked.
The commission is charged with focusing on school safety. I believe that the commission should do exactly that. Focus on workable, constitutional steps, that can enhance the safety of students.
Proposing a bunch of legislation, that is unconstitutional, and will just die on delivery at Capitol Hill, is just going to waste everyone’s time.
The commission should remember, who controls the federal congress, and the presidency.

Her husband gave the same feigned of ignorance during his Vice interview when the reported suggested that charters undermine public schools. He feigned a look of confusion, followed by the statement, “No charters make public school stronger though competition.” He knows what competition looks like in Detroit. It is a way to avoid answering the question and deflect scrutiny.
Betsy and Dick are skilled scammers from years of peddling their pyramid scheme to unsuspecting working people. They have mastered the feigned look of surprise when some poor soul asks for a refund. I suspect the devilish duo tell them to work harder to bring other poor souls into the fold, and the kingdom of heaven will be theirs.

Let’s remember we have Eva Moskowitz to thank for Betsy DeVos. If any Senators were wavering, they only had to watch Moskowitz tv appearances or read her multiple op eds and print interviews in which she absolutely demanded that the Senate confirm DeVos, who — Moskowitz told us — cared about children as much as she did and received her seal of approval.
Moskowitz has never retracted her admiration and support of Betsy DeVos nor has she ever admitted she was wrong to make it her personal mission to demand that DeVos be confirmed by the Senate. (Her sole criticism has been of DeVos’ public relations, NOT her policies.)
The fact the Joseph Belluck and the SUNY Charter Institute are insisting that the charter CEO whose vision of education excellence is Betsy DeVos should train her own teachers with no oversight necessary speaks volumes about Belluck and the man who keeps him in power — Andrew Cuomo.
I think Cynthia Nixon should make Cuomo address why he so strongly supports Betsy DeVos’ biggest cheerleader and why he doesn’t care that his own handpicked SUNY Charter Institute board is giving Betsy DeVos’ biggest cheerleader free reign to hire unlicensed teachers with no oversight.
Make public education the main issue in this democratic primary — just like they did in Virginia. And make Cuomo and Joseph Belluck go on record as to why they believe that the charter CEO who told us that Betsy DeVos shared her values should be given free reign to train her own teachers?

I’m not so sure that ol Eva has that kind of influence. Did and does she support DeVos? No doubt. But those of us not in NYC, the vast majority, I’d say 99% have not even heard of “Evita”. I’d bet that the senators from my state wouldn’t have a clue if you asked them who Eva Moskowitz was.
Does she have some say and political savvy in New York? No doubt. but I think you give her too much credit for having an ability to influence national politics such as was the confirmation of DeVos.

Well Corey Booker who has received a great deal of campaign money from Betsy is suppose to be working on prison reform, Betsy doesn’t appear to think that guns are an issue. With these political minds in charge we are in sad shape.
