If you are a teacher, you might consider joining the Badass Teachers Association. They are the fearless fighters in the profession, the ones who stand up for the profession and students and public schools in every forum, with courage and persistence.
Here is the BAT Pledge to Childhood.
Take a look at what they did in 2017.
They are truly the Batmen and Batwomen of education.
When the going gets tough, you can count on the BATS.
They are the bare-knuckle street fighters of education.
Are you bold enough to be a BAT?

Thank you Diane for all your support. We will continue to work hard for our children and communities. Thank you for all you do.

I had a long breakfast with a BAT, former student, great informant on what’s happening in her district and school. Most of the non-sense that teachers in her district must deal with comes from the feds and state legislatures who believe that teachers just need better management and more “data-informed” decisions. This BAT is also savvy about how much (or little) is possible through organized effort.

And when the billionaires can’t get the state legislature to force nonsense on teachers, they go to the district superintendent and get him or her to sign a memorandum of understanding.

I pledge to protect childhood. The gloves are off, Billionaire Boys and Girls. The tests can’t hit what the eyes can’t see. Float like a butterfly; sting like a bee.

While I wish them luck, they certainly could learn to grow some thicker skin. I’m not impressed by their lack openness to thoughts other than their own little world. True badasses do not take their ball and go home when critiqued/challenged. Badasses they aren’t from my experience with them.
