Politico posted Trump’s tweets. Here you see what he is fixated on. The big obsession is Hillary. I think she keeps a very low profile because at any moment, he could direct the Justice Department to open an investigation of her emails (again) and “lock her up.” The only way to stand up to this guy is if you have nothing to lose.
“WHAT’S ON THE PRESIDENT’S MIND — at 6:33 a.m.: “A new INTELLIGENCE LEAK from the Amazon Washington Post,this time against A.G. Jeff Sessions.These illegal leaks, like Comey’s, must stop!” … at 6:45 a.m.: “The Failing New York Times foiled U.S. attempt to kill the single most wanted terrorist,Al-Baghdadi.Their sick agenda over National Security” … at 6:52 a.m.: “This morning I will be going to the Commissioning Ceremony for the largest aircraft carrier in the world, The Gerald R. Ford. Norfolk, Va.” …
… at 7:35 a.m.: “While all agree the U. S. President has the complete power to pardon, why think of that when only crime so far is LEAKS against us.FAKE NEWS” … at 7:44 a.m.: “So many people are asking why isn’t the A.G. or Special Council looking at the many Hillary Clinton or Comey crimes. 33,000 e-mails deleted?” … at 7:47 a.m.: “…What about all of the Clinton ties to Russia, including Podesta Company, Uranium deal, Russian Reset, big dollar speeches etc.” … at 8 a.m.: “My son Donald openly gave his e-mails to the media & authorities whereas Crooked Hillary Clinton deleted (& acid washed) her 33,000 e-mails!” …
… at 8:10 a.m.: “In all fairness to Anthony Scaramucci, he wanted to endorse me 1st, before the Republican Primaries started, but didn’t think I was running!” … at 8:17 a.m.: “The Republican Senators must step up to the plate and, after 7 years, vote to Repeal and Replace. Next, Tax Reform and Infrastructure. WIN!” … at 8:23 a.m.: “ObamaCare is dead and the Democrats are obstructionists, no ideas or votes, only obstruction. It is solely up to the 52 Republican Senators!”
ACTUALLY, MR. PRESIDENT: Your guy is running the Justice Department, so you have some sway there if you want him to look into Clinton. And Senate Republicans are looking to dismantle Obamacare through budget reconciliation, which allows them to circumvent Democrats.”

Back in the run up to the election, I was a lukewarm Hillary voter who reads this blog. I thought your warnings of a Trump presidency were alarmist and over the top.
You were 100% right, and I humbly apologize. This man is batshit crazy.

“batshit crazy”…I’ll second that thought. How can a mind like his even pretend to be a leader with unlimited power? His mind is little and has no ability to learn and grow.

Liz,
Agreed. Egomania reigns. Also cupidity.

Well, I thought Diane’s warning were alarmist and over-the-top only because I couldn’t imagine that he would win the primaries. As a longtime denizen of of NYC I’d seen DJT move from playboy to RE sleaze w/corrupt gov connections, always w/girl-scandals: just couldn’t imagine him garnering a voter-base. Then again, when watching him in primary debates, I remember thinking, well at least DJT is pro-choice/ pro-gay-rights & mod-to-lib at heart: surely less legislative damage done than under a Pence, Kasich, Jeb… Wow, was I wrong! I learned that he uses prevailing local morés like a chameleon. He has no anchoring beliefs/ tendencies at all outside of those that govern winner-take-all, bully the opposition, grudge-match/revenge, loyalty mafioso-style, etc. And even those are not consistent, as he’ll turn on a dime if it suits his agenda.

What a train wreck, a disaster at the precipice of a bottomless chasm, an abyss of abysmal maleficent malefactors. Oh, but Hillary would have been just as bad or worse (sarcasm alert).

Trump may be “batshit crazy” from his behavior but he is able to do considerable harm, and in fact has already done so. Betsy DeVos is a glaring example. The actions of this woman are evil. Who can condone ending the regulations about student loans that were enacted to prevent predatory loan practices so that people have a chance to pay off their loans at least by the time they are 40 years old? Who can really agree that we should drain money from our public schools so that those of limited means have even more hurdles to reaching fulfillment? GOP support is there only because they see that with Trump, as disgraceful as he is, can (by default of leadership and knowledge) bring about the sickest of conservative ideological dreams.

If my math is in the ball park, Trump’s tweets on this day were at the center of
the first 110 minutes of his day. The longest time between tweets was 43 minutes, the shortest time 3 minutes, the average time between tweets about seven minutes (if the high of 43 and a low at 3) are eliminated.
Then there is the scatterbrain and often paranoid content. The press is blamed for intelligence leaks, threatening our national security, and propagating fake news while failing to chase down the crimes of “crooked Hillary.” That’s just a sample of the ten tweets reported on in the post. I think his morning tweets are probably the most likely to be free from PR contrived by his new Director of Communications, Anthony Scaramucci, who has announced his loyalty to and love of all things Trump.

It kind of makes me wonder just what in the hell he does all day! Can any of you even IMAGINE what the right would have done if Obama did this? I continually shake my head as I feel like we are all living in an episode of “The Twilight Zone”. BTW…Pence sure seems to be keeping a low profile. I think the Repubs are just waiting like vultures in trees until Trump finally “hangs himself”.

20% of his time, so far, has been spent golfing. When you add in the amount of time he spends watching TV and then add the time he spends Tweeting it is easy to figure out why he hasn’t a clue about what is happening. He isn’t smart enough to realize that being a good president requires a lot of work. He is incapable of making intelligent well thought out decisions.
Pence would give the Repubs everything they want. What will our lives be like then?Just sit back and watch our democracy dissolve.

I don’t agree that Hillary Clinton is keeping a low profile in order to avoid an investigation amidst Trump’s threats of imprisonment. She has been chased by a rightwing mob for three decades and has never backed down. As public policy professor Paul Begala has said, the Clintons are the most investigated and the most exonerated politicians in history. Can you imagine if Hillary Clinton were vocal right now? Republicans and half the country would accuse her of being at the root of all the investigations into him and his family. They would dismiss these many, many serious allegations as nothing more than sour grapes. I think she is putting country first.

Forget Trump, what does it say that 35-40% of Americans can after all that has happened still support him . Even more frighting that we can have pundits talk about “getting things done for the American people”. “Doing what he was elected to do” .
What a frightening thought. Because what he was elected to do was take things away from the less deserving “other” from medicaid, to voting rights, to 4th amendment rights. . Take things away from the “other” even if meant they too would loose . Something he promised them would never happen.

There is a reason they are attracted to Fox News in the first place. And the same can be said for those who view the “liberal” media . Or as actually is the case , the almost liberal media.

It isn’t just Fox.
Look how many supposedly “intelligent” people who don’t watch Fox were willing to embrace the entire “Hillary Clinton is the most corrupt and dishonest candidate in history and she and Wasserman “stole” the primary from Bernie Sanders.”
The normal actions of a politician — the same one that Bernie gets a pass on — were made into “corruption”. Stupid off the cuff remarks on stolen e-mails taken out of context were evidence of corruption instead of actual DEEDS that showed that whatever “crime” was supposedly planned never happened. Doing exactly what there is incontrovertible evidence that Colin Powell advised is somehow a corrupt woman’s plan to sell out America in exchange for donations to her foundation (which presumably she planned to use as Trump did as her personal bank account.)
Until progressives stop falling for the same nonsense, they are hypocrites in criticizes the people who adore Trump and believe he can do no wrong. They are simply falling for the same propaganda that so many Bernie bros believed.

Obsession…
Every action he takes appears to be based on
1) being cheered at rallies;
2) discrediting and eliminating anything President Obama did;
3) doing anything President Obama did not do*
4) trying to win the popular vote which means beating Secretary Clinton in other ways
5) deregulating anything that helps his 1% cronies become .05%ers
Extent of his intel is cnn and fox headlines
He couldn’t care less or have a bona fide opinion about charters** (probably couldn’t even define one), achievement, level playing fields – or probably the environment, health care for all or not, or anything else. If President Obama was a climate denier, T would be for it.
*President Obama never used the launch codes and after T does, his first tweet will be he did something Obama never did.
** actually – how about letting him know that President Obama, Duncan, and the b actually DID want more charters, vouchers, tax credits etc. – – that DeVos would actually like their policies – then he’d reverse course and try to save the public schools
